I'd love a second incarnation of Mario, be it Paper, SuperStar moveset, or simply a doc costume. With two Links, it makes sense to me.

Speaking of two Links I took a trip over to the Project M site to get the skinny. I've played it a couple times at a few friends houses but it's been a couple of years since and I hadn't delved in... When I saw they gave TLINK YLINK's Nair. Why? Why take away one of his best moves? Brawl is what it is, but that was a great move functionally and aesthetically[i'm probably wrong so spellcheck it]

With tiny legs, a light body, and quick speed, like it or not, Toon Link's physical changes made sense for the most part, emphasizing on a sword-child with a sharp pig sticker and none of that junk that aging throws on the body. I'm not gonna lie I was looking at this mod before i got my wii but now... i'm second guessing the download entirely... or i'll main Roy.

Just remake Young Link and your precious Mewtwo. I lied he's my precious Mewtwo

I was devastated when Dr. Mario didn't return. I am a huge advocate of cutting Mario for Dr. Mario. So you could imagine my disappointment when Dr. Mario was cut... and Mario got FLUDD. So I would love a second incarnation... only if it is the good doctor, of course. I don't have any experience with Young Link. In Melee I only played Link. However, Brawl butchered, slaughtered, and desecrated Link for me... so I had to resort to maining Toon Link. I haven't played Project M, but if they really got rid of his Nair, I would be disappointed.

Also... you spelled aesthetically correct.

Roy has a purple scarf. I think he is de-confirmed... sorry.
Cesar Augustus deconfirmed for wearing purple.

The Baltimore Ravens deconfirmed from winning the last Super Bowl for wearing purple.

Morbid deconfirmed for having a username with the same amount of letters as purple.

Half-Life 3 confirmed for not having anything related to purple!!! :awesome:

...and is thus deconfirmed!!! :c

The sex kick move was to bring back that Melee feel. Still, both the Toon Link and Young Link moves function the same, albeit the latter has less range. They both have an initial sweet spot (the latter has more knockback and time) and a sourspot (they both have about equal sourspots).

It's not a gigantic difference. Besides, they could "undo" that by simply adding Young Link (and giving him basically everything Toon Link does) and remaking Toon Link (with lots of new moves and stuff) in the future. ;)

Also, Toon Link is very different in that game. It is kinda "off" for me and a lot of players, but eh, he's still super fun and aggressive. He brings back that old warrior Young Link spirit with a bit of Toon Link flair. I just wish in Project M we could have more of the best of both worlds, but eh, at least it's fun to play as.

Speaking of which, I wish Toon Link used more of Young Link's moves and talents. It would be nice to see him use the fire arrows.

I think I´m the only person in this thread that like more the biker outfit for Wario than his original costume.
.n_n.
I like the biker outfit more as well. For me, his best and strongest appearances as a lead character were in the Wario Ware games. I find those games exceedingly brilliant. The original might be the best game for the GBA.

I agree, the original Fire Red, Leaf Green, and Emerald versions were the best games for the GBA! :shades:

It might be cool if Biker Wario was on the Wii U version and Classic Wario is exclusive to the 3DS. Just a thought.

inb4 Metroid Fusion, Sonic Advance and, fittingly, Wario Land 4.
I'd probably honestly go with Metroid Fusion. That game was deeply engrossing in every aspect. That game needs a proper overblown giant action-y sequel where Samus fights the entire Galactic Federation leaders with space ships exploding, lots of violence, death, sacrifice, and some real Star Wars action-y crap.

Basically, crap hits the fan and you love it.

No Ruby or Sapphire? Just Emerald? WHY GOD WHY?!
More stuffs... I think.

It's been a while since i've played [should i really even be posting and complaining] I know that all of P:M is hardcore nostalgia goggles. But to me that's such a whuh I can't put it into words. A quick two hitting aerial in the similar vein of Marth's nair, and you give his stubby legged self a sex kick?

I was a Link main in Melee, so I also went with TLINK in brawl. I liked the way Link both played and was designed in melee. Not too sword heavy in the air, kicks were appropriate. He wasn't the best swordsman around granted but he got the job done. It boggled me that when they made a second version of that character, one of the few in the entire game with an established arsenal of gear, they made both versions mostly the same. The brawl version got major brownie points from me for leaning more toward link the swordsman, even if it was in child form. In that same regard, i'd love to see an incarnation slightly more item heavy, and i completely agree with you on one thing; there is no reason what so ever he shouldn't have fire arrows. Especially if he's got bombs with that huge explosion area. At least it seems the Brawl- guys are keeping things interesting.

how about levels of charge on his arrows? Regular>Fire>Bomb

I just met a guy who likes smash bros.

We talked about the new one and I said I wanted Ridley.

*Guy goes to too big arguement*

*gets curb stomped by logic*

*guy goes to no moveset*

*curb stomped*

*guy goes to OP moveset*

*curb stomped*

*complains about Wii Fit Trainer*

Point is. I think people dislike Ridley for whatever reason and try to think of reasons why he couldn't work that don't have much merit.

Thing is... Why hate Ridley?

Emerald kind of sucked imo, mostly because Hoenn is a broken region story and flow-wise, and there's no characters to care for. It's a shame since it's my favorite generation of Pokémon designs. Gotta agree with Fire Red and Leaf Green, probably the best games on GBA.

Also, there's a severe lack of Zero Mission love when talking GBA, imo it's much better than Fusion. Can't forget about Kirby Nightmare in Dreamland and Amazing Mirror either.

Thanks to Other M I guess it's already known anyway that Ridley can alter the purple pigment of his skin to make himself tougher.

In Super Metroid, Ridley first appearing invisible during both battles, then revealing the eyes, and then his body shows he has chameleon-like properties with his pigmentation as well, which makes you wonder why Ridley doesn't go chameleon dragon more often.

We just got done discussing this. Perhaps you missed it. Go back a page... I will just tell you... it is because... Ridley is purple. That is why people don't want him. He would be OP. That guy was right.

Morbid, mind if I ask why you'd prefer a Doc Mario over Paper or SuperStar

Dr. Mario has some Melee precedence. Not to mention he was some of the most fun I have ever had in Smash. I would always just spam the pills and make drug related jokes and puns. Those were the good old days. Not to mention that his aesthetic design is the most appealing. He is a doctor, what isn't to like. I am actually not to fond of Paper Mario as a Mario rep. I feel like we already have him on the roster (Game and Watch). So I am good without him. I actually don't know who Super Star Mario is. I tried to Google it. All I got was Mario in Super Star form, so his rainbow invincible form. Upon further inspection, you might be talking about Baby Mario. I wouldn't be totally opposed to it. It just isn't my cup of tea. I would prefer if Sakurai chose to use an extremely easy clone to design so that he can take priority in other aspects of the roster.

I suppose any other Mario i'm thinking of would be a mix. It'd be rough to represent all of his decent abilities fairly in a single game, especially with one character. When i said superstar mario i meant his incarnation in the mario and luigi series. granted he's truly powerful when he's got luigi to attack with but... i just really like the abilities he has in those games, his rpg's. Paper Mario i like because it could tribute other forms of mario quickly without being cost effective on development. He could literally turn into doctor Mario when performing his pill attack because he's 2D. I also want to see mario with a hammer, and he'd better not come back with FLUDD.

i haven't watched any videos because i'm afraid of seeing if it returns or not. I like those mario abilities for him as opposed to the myriad of titles that have come out over the past couple of years. Ice balls and penguin suits, cat suits and acorn flight... i'd like to get back to mushroom kingdom business and away from cosplay where he's a coin block or a cloud.

Custom Mario a la Combot or Ace from SFEX series any day of the week over a MII

Paper Mario being 2D could act like he's got some god damn sense, not so much doing a bunch of 'now i'm flat' crud, but turning into painter, doctor... hell he could be a plumber and get back to work. though he's likely a gardner the way he handles all of that WEED :bluejump:

I regret that smilie

I've got high hopes Bomber Man could make it in smash 4, Hudson soft the company has worked with nintendo to make the Mario Party games, once a 3rd party company makes games for Mario, you've made it big with Nintendo, and your chance should be high to be put into Smash! lol also Pac Man from Namco, just a bunch 'man' characters from different companies everywhere! Mega Man, Bomber Man, Pac Man! The battle of the mans! LOL :awesome:

Hudson is now owned by Konami.

So Bomberman would have to get in over Snake, which I just can't see happening.

At least it seems the Brawl- guys are keeping things interesting.
The people who made Brawl Minus are part of the Project M crew. They actually are most of the core group of the Project M crew.
I like what they did in Brawl. I can't imagine them doing anything else for Smash 4.
Umm... Shoulder Bash.

Yeah, the region was messed up, as was the ebb and flow of it, but I felt Emerald made it feel "more united." I just wish they went "all the way" with the "broken region" route by just having tons and tons and tons of islands with the "main island" being less of a centralized location.
Also, there's a severe lack of Zero Mission love when talking GBA, imo it's much better than Fusion. Can't forget about Kirby Nightmare in Dreamland and Amazing Mirror either.
Eh, I found Zero Mission to be too easy to be considered. It's a great game, but eh, Metroid Fusion IMO is an all-time classic.

You didn't mention Mario Man or Sonic Man in your post. Do you have something against them? What next? Do you hate Jigglypuff Man?

Thing is... Why hate Ridley?
People hate Nintendo non-huhmanoid villains that aren't cute and cuddly, including Ridley.

Also, people hate anything that stands out and is a good idea. That's why people would rather have a boring clone Dr. Mario, Toad, or Waluigi than unique landscape changing characters like Ridley, the Wii Fit Trainer, and the Ice Climbers.

The Ice Climbers especially were downright hated pre-Brawl by many people and on sites like GameFAQs, IGN, and Game Spot they would ignore or troll most of the Ice Climbers supporters in such Ice Climbers thread. I got so many good stories on that. There were some serious tears shed by the haters when they were confirmed, lol.

I swear to God with smash speculation it is as if the haters don't even have an interest in the game, and just are so sad and pathetic they need something to latch onto in life to hate on because they are a sad pathetic jobless late 20-something bums who never graduated high school or went to college...

...Oh look, I just described my mom's side of the family, probably certain segments of the Ridley haters, and the ultimate problem with America and all such 1st world countries: lazy people, after hearing that a relative is still super lazy from a call with another relative while posting here, helping put part of my sister's desk together, studying Federal Income Tax Accounting for 5 hours, reading my math exam guide outline again, and not stopping to running at 100 MPH.

(At least I'll get that nice piece of paper as a reward!!! YEAHHH!!!!! Oh and Ridley too!!)

If i had to vote on a case by case, character by character basis, with no limit, i'm sorry to say i wouldn't give bomber man the pass. For a super happy fun time game sure, but for smash brothers, i don't hold him as in high regard. I shouldn't talk because i don't know much about his abilities over the years, but i recall Link and kirby having bombs and bomb powers. They've taken that which makes him awesome and unique and... did it. Please fill me in however. I'm always open to a strong argument.
Same with pac-man, he's gaming legend, but not precious to Nintendo in my eyes. Better saved for a 80's family reunion or picnic.

Unrelated, but even after seeing how Sonic and Snake were designed I wouldn't give them a second pass. If it were simply a mascot battle, sure why not. But personally I think of the Castlevania guys first and foremost before Metal gear as Konami Reps. Castlevania>Klonoa>Bomberman>Metal Gearl

Not Konami.

I have said it before, I will say it again. Snake is a less flamboyant Bomberman. So I am fine with just Snake. ESPECIALLY if they decide to replace Solid Snake with Punished Snake.
