from what I hear the Japanese don't like the Prime series and the creator of Metroid even announced they aren't canon anymore (because it wouldn't fit in with Other M)
I doubt we will get Dark Samus because of this

Considering if we got a villain from Metroid, it'd obviously be Ridley, Dark Samus definitely isn't happening anytime soon. Also, why couldn't they have just said Other M wasn't the one that was canon? It'd be so much better...make it a crack fantasy.

because Other M is made by Japanese while Prime is American that's why

Well that sucks...it's kind of ironic that the americans made the better game than the Japanese because when it usually comes to things that are split between Japan and America, Japan's product is usually better in one way or another.

Since they are similar physically and do share moves they very likely could be semi-clones of each other.

But in game, Zero Suit Samus is the same as Samus, and Zelda is the same as Sheik. It really isn't a difficult concept.

And by that logic a ninja & princess share no difference in any area because they are the same entity.

Characters can share qualities. But that doesn't mean they're the same character.

That last line makes no sense. You cannot be different from yourself. You can share similarities with a different person. But how cold you possibly be different from yourself?

It was just Sakamoto being bitter a bunch of gaijin made far superior 3D Metroids than he ever could.

The Prime trilogy is definitely held in higher regard in Japan than Other M is (which is seen as a bad/medicore game).

I would say Prime Hunters is worse than Other M. However, both of those games definitely share the bottom tier to the Metroid series by themselves.

I just said that Zero Suit Samus and Samus are just Samus in a change of clothes, I never even mentioned Dark Samus and that your comparison of Zero Suit Samus to Samus as well as Dark Samus to Samus in the same vein of discussion of similarities to Samus is blatantly stupid. I say its most likely that we will get a new retro (lots of good candidates, particularly Takamaru). Fire Emblem also has decent chances for a newcomer. EarthBound most likely will not get a newcomer.

But yes, not only has Ridley never been programmed to be a playable character that had to be balanced and tested, which would be pretty difficult, but Sakurai is hurting. He may not be able to spend that much extra time on one character because of his disability.

But he spend more resources, money and man power in making a third party rep like Mega Man (and I love the inclusion of Mega Man) but he can´t spend the same in Ridley?

FE seems like it should go first, considering its likely going to have at least three characters. Although Sakurai could end up being bone-headed enough to throw in just Marth and a Chrom that is basically an Ike-reskin.

Its really odd how Sakurai has confirmed every Mario veteran, yet series like FE have not even had character confirmations yet. And other series like Pokemon, Kirby, Star Fox, and Zelda were all basically stand alone (Zelda would have likely remained stand alone had it not been for Wind Waker HD).

I think it will basically be a free-for-all in terms of veteran confirmations once we get past Q4 2013.

The only remaining software releases left that could be tied into a possible veteran confirmation are Pokemon X/Y, Zelda: A Link Between Worlds, Yoshi's Island 3DS, Kirby 3DS, Donkey Kong: Tropical Freeze, and Mario Kart 8.

The overwhelming majority of veterans won't have a new software release that can be tied to their confirmation.

Prime Hunters is not as bad, at least they did try to expand more in the universe of Metroid and the design of the Hunters are awesome (well most of them).

The adventure in Prime Hunters was definitely worse than Other M. The single-player was utterly forgettable, and you fought the same two bosses over and over again.

About the only good thing I can say about Hunters is that its among the best looking DS games (definitely the best looking DS game when it came out in 2006), and that its probably the best FPS multiplayer experience on the DS.
