The only thing this confirms is that Luigi will have Nose Combos. Pull his nose to cancel into anything.

Wait a minute...

This picture shows how large Luigi's nose is compared to Marth's nose even though they are both human, hinting that Sakurai AND Nintendo don't care jack **** about size.

Ridley confirmed.

Well we still have a week before we can call November a bust. So far we got Marth, a Mario Galaxy Stage, and a very likely Toad disconfirmation. That's a decent amount of stuff right there.

I mean at least we have stuff to speculate about. Talks about Rosalina were in the works, and now it would appear that Toad's fate has been sealed. The only thing that would make this month better really is another stage reveal, or another character reveal.

One thing is certain. Sakurai desperately needs to announce more characters, because the hype for this game is dying fast. Hopefully we get a trailer like I predicted next month in a Direct. Otherwise, Nintendo has a LOT of work to do in hyping this game for next year.

At this point, I'm assuming that they aren't going to go into full hype mode until next year considering how low key they've been with the reveals aside from Sonic.

To be fair, Sakurai has shown far more since Smash 4's unveil than he did during the aftermath of Brawl's unveil (talking about the second half of 2006 versus the second half of 2013). For Brawl, the only veteran that was confirmed after its 2006 unveil was Fox.

That "hype is dying fast" despite Sakurai giving away far more information at this point than he did with Brawl is very disconcerting. I don't think the hype for Smash 4 is going to reach the highs that Brawl did.

Its definitely going to be the most hyped Nintendo title next year by far though.

After how much the Brawl Dojo spoiled so many people with information being shown everyday, well...
The Brawl Dojo only started to give out daily information in 2007. For the time period between Brawl's unveil and like March/April 2007, we had a relatively static website.

By comparison, we at least have been getting somewhat steady stream of new information since Smash 4's unveil.

The game is probably still a year away from coming out(im predicting holiday 2014), its hard to keep hype and generate it for that long. Theyre not going to show too many of their cards this early. They might kick this into overdrive around 6 months out, but trying to hold peoples attention on a game for that long without even a release date is difficult and is reserved for hardcore fans like us. Especially when they can use something like E3 where it will get a lot of exposure and coverage.

If I'm correct, Luigi was announced for M+L: DT? Also, wasn't Peach announced for the SMB anniversary?
No.
Luigi was announced 4 days before Dream Team came out in America (which was a Sunday; the appropriate announcement would be on the following Monday or even the Friday before it, not the previous Thursday of all days).

Peach was announced the day before Super Mario Bros.' anniversary. Why she wasn't revealed on the same day when that day was a Friday is bizzare. So it was only coincidence that it was around the same time.

Maybe Nintendo doesn't want ANYTHING distracting people from their big reveals (Pokemon X/Y, Zelda ALBW, and SM3DW).

Regarding Luigi.... well it was a sort of rather safe bet, not to mention it's the year of Luigi. And WW is an old game so a reminder of its HD existance is warranted... I guess.

Well if you want to get scientific and call them theories...

@TBW:
Pretty much the main things people say Lyn should be in Smash:

-She's a chick. (Because having a vagina makes you special)
-'Murica REPRESENT! ("Was the first Lord Americans had experience with", despite Eliwood being the star of the game itself and Hector being the more major between him and Lyn.)
-Katana-rama! (Even though we've got the likes of Goroh and Takamaru waiting in the wings)

I wouldn't call November a bust. We got Marth, a Mario Galaxy stage, Luigi's nose, info on other revealed stages, and some others I'm sure I'm forgetting but its 3:35 am here and I can't sleep.

I think this pace is good. Say we get newcomer reveals in June, that gives us 7 veterans to reveal between now and then at one per month. Not to mention 6 more if a game is a year away. I think some months will be a double reveal but I think that it'll be few and far between.

If there can only be one mole, who would you choose?
Muddy Mole or Mr. Resetti?
Playstyle wise. I'd choose Mr. Resetti for pretty much being sorta like Muddy Mole with a pick axe.

Animal Crossing doesn't really deserve a rep IMO, but Mr. Resetti is next besides Tom Nook, but Resetti would have more moveset potential the Nook.

Muddy Mole would be AWESOME though, but he has lots of competition as a retro including
Lip
Takamaru
Tamagon
Donbe and Hikari
Harry
Prince Sable

And much more.

Nice try, but I don't care for any FE character.

....except maybe Walhart for the sheer amounts of lulz he would give.

@Golden I support her because she is one of my favourite, if not my favourite Fire Emblem character. As much as some people believe that additional sword-users are completely unwarranted, I do believe that she has a great potential, if she hypothetically was in a Smash game, to bring a great contrast and variety when compared to the rest of the cast, particularly contrasting well in feel to Marth and Ike .This is because of the fact I feel that her nomadic design and green hair help make her more visually distinct from Marth and Ike's design

As for gameplay, well, I would imagine a playstyle that revolves around being agile, nimble and precise in her strikes and movements-basically feeling and acting like a cross between a samurai and a ninja. Her specials could easily include her critical attack and a bow with decent knockback and which can be aimed at any direction, amongst other ideas.
