I cannot stress this enough, and I won't get it through to you, but Fire Emblem and Pokémon characters actually have increased chances because they are recent.

Pokemon, yes. Fire Emblem only slightly and MAYBE. But, hey would you replace Lucario with Zoroark because characters have increased chances for being recent?

More or less.
I consider him less likely than K. Rool, but more likely than Roy.
Somewhere in between.
And a lot more likely than Impa.
Nah, but the reason I still have hope for Ridley is because he hasn't been shown as a stage hazard yet. Why would Sakurai wait months after to reveal a hazard? The only logical explanation is that he wanted to mess with us.

Mewtwo is the only Pokémon character that would make sence getting in. Really, there's nothing else to expect.

Fire Emblem gets a little more tricky. Cause theres Roy, the Melee veteran. Lyn, the highly requested Brawl Assist Trophy, and Chrom, the newest Lord in a highly succesful game.

People arguing for Alm, Micaiah, Ephraim, Hector, Sigurd (the last 3 are really awesome though), Robin, Tiki, Anna, Ranulf, Batta the Beast, Est ect... Are all quite deluding themselves. IN MY PERSONAL HUMBLE LOWLY OPINION OF COURSE!

Sheik should be gone though. Pokémon Trainer as a concept at least works. Zelda / Sheik doesn't.

I'm just gonna go ahead and say you shouldn't cut a character or characters for the sole reason of how long they take to develop. If Bowser took the time of 4 character I wouldn't remove him.

I would accept that, but I could see some potential in having Eevee be a character. Down B makes it switch into it's different eeveelutions and let Neutral B be a move specific to that eeveelution. Just a thought, I was just pondering over it, not sure if that would work or if anyone would accept it.

I think the best option is to make the Eeveelutions the three first ones.

It's not everybody by any means. It's just me because I think he's an overrated Smash character. Everyone says he's so different when in reality he and Ness play very similarly. I've played as both of them btw. Like one after the other.

Precisely, cutting Pokemon Trainer is logical and valid in my opinion because Charizard represents almost everything that Pokemon Trainer represents. He is the only starter that has 2 Mega-Evolutions. He is the star of Pokemon Origins. He represents the fan base purely based on his staggering popularity.

I agree with your sentiment Saturn. Ridley will most likely take 2 characters of development time, but that is no reason to not implement him. However, he has no reasonable alternative. Pokemon Trainer does.

Really? Because other m came out in 2010, and while it isnt getting as much attention as before, I wouldnt consider it dead. Far from it actually. Its not like Mario where they have a new game 3 times a year, the games are alot more niche so they really only need one per console...

I agree. I mained Lucas too, but I would rather have him gone for a more unique character. Personally, I would LOVE if Porky got in over Lucas, but that's just me.

That is actually where I place him, I am not deluded enough to think that Sakurai recognizes that Ridley is necessary. I am also not arrogant enough to completely dismiss the Ridley is too big argument. It will arbitrarily be decided by Sakurai.

However, if he really did allude to Ridley as a character and not put him in the game... well... it would be like Ed Boon and Martian Manhunter. People will not be pleased.

Metroid had 2 games for GameCube and 2 for Wii (3 if you count the Trilogy). It was significantly bigger back then.

Pretty much this. They'll either add him cause of his demand of his hype-crazed fanbase, or Sakurai will just be like 'nah **** it'.

Ridley fans love to forget there are other characters that are actually wanted to. And that not every fan-favorite always makes it in. See: Krystal, Skull Kid, Geno, Balloon Fighter, Toad, Sukapon ect.

It is funny, I consider my mains to be Jigglypuff, Toon Link, Ganondorf, Zelda, and Wolf. My secondaries are Marth, Pikachu, and Captain Falcon (previously, Ganon was here and Captain Falcon was my main). However, my most played character is ... Ike?

Again, 2 on GameCube and 3 on Wii is far from niche.

My SSBB disc got one REALLY bad scratch on it, and now I can't play as Ike or Kirby or else the game freezes. EVERYTHING else works except for those two characters, which were two characters I frequently played.
