Personally, I don't care about adding to existing series or adding new series. At this point it's about adding fun characters.

At this point I only want Ridley, Mega Man, Mewtwo, and Roy, as well as Brawl's cast brought back. Other than that, I don't care what happens with the roster.

6 char reps is perfect for a franchise like Pokémon. Plus like someone said, a full party in the Pokémon games are 6 mons.

As far as under represented franchises go, the Metroid and Donkey Kong series stand out in my eyes. You could say that's part of the reason why Ridley and King K. Rool are two of the most highly requested characters for Smash 4.

Before brawl was released I was told the game had 40 characters. Turns out that includes people who have multiple characters within them. Thinking it that way, Pokemon already has 6 (which is cool cause that's the same size of a party in pokemon). 7 or 8 seems a bit much.

I don't see how seven or eight Pokémons would be too much. Pokémons are among the most diverse group for playable characters (and not just there either) and Brawl planned to have seven or eight characters, so its not like Sakurai is against having more.

Yeah. Brawl pretty much got all the Nintendo characters I wanted in (except for Ridley and two Melee veterans). I loved nearly all of Brawl's newcomers too (there was only two that had mixed feelings about). There being only four characters this time I have a personal interest in means I can mostly kick back and wait for the newcomer unveils this time instead of getting into character debates.

That is why I am hoping that Sakurai at least addresses the topic of character cuts (whether there will be cuts from Brawl's roster) soon after the unveil. Of the four characters I want, all but one (Roy) stand a good chance of being confirmed at E3 2013 (though Mewtwo is iffy as well). I am really crossing my fingers I get both Ridley and Mega Man confirmed at E3.

Promotions don't mean jack like people think. It may be a security type thing for confidence, but it's by no means a guarantee for anything. This applies to everything you've seen and harbor on.

That might happen. As I said before, supporting Dixie Kong would be contingent on whether she makes any more new game appearances in order for me to have more interest in her. Aside from her the only other "maybes" would be Palutena, Little Mac, and K. Rool, and all of those are among the most likely newcomers, and all three of them (particularly Palutena) have good chances of being confirmed at E3 2013.

I might also help try to bring interest to Pico if Sakurai says Snake is not coming back though. (though I don't think any amount of fan effort would ever get Pico in regardless if much of the Western Smash Bros. fansbase thought Pico would be a natural fit to inherit Snake's moveset).

I don't really think Snake will be cut. He was added as a personal request. Him being cut will (probably) jeopardize Sakurai and Kojima's friendship.

I definitely think Isaac deserves to be in, and I do think he has good chances to be in too. However, considering I have never played a Golden Sun game, I can't say I personally support him in. The moveset I made for him was pretty much made from watching youtube videos of Golden Sun.

That's true, but that doesn't mean that we won't see an increase for either franchise, just that they wouldn't receive a crazy expansion just because they have a ton of reps. There are still reasons to believe that a fifth Mario rep could happen along with Pokémon getting seven characters.

Not really. I will say that Golden Sun is probably one of the most straight forward RPG's out there. Mind you that doesn't mean it's a bad thing, it's still a perfectly good RPG in it's own right, but it doesn't really feel inspiring. It feels like the same song and dance other role playing games have done before, which to me is a disappointment in it's own right. I like it when role playing games play around with RPG fluff, like Mother, Tales, Xenoblade, and the Mario RPG's.

To each his own. Personally I don't think Takamaru deserves to be playable, but I can understand why people want him.

He's a beloved character from a fun game. Just like Isaac.

I have to agree with Habanero. You guys and gals know my love of RPGs (why else would I be such a big DQ buff), and some of the obscure crap I've played over the years, but I just cannot get into the Golden Sun series. There is just something that doesn't click with me. At least the first game anyways. I stopped trying to play it a long time ago.

Needless to say I'm not the biggest fan of Isaac. But I recognize that a lot of people do like him.

In terms of new characters, I could definitely see Issac (Golden Sun), Chrom (FE Awakening), King K.Rool, a new Gen 6 Pokemon of some kind, Louie (Pikmin), Black Shadow (F-Zero), Miis, and Ridley. As far as 3rd party characters, I could see Shulk (Xenoblade), Mega Man, Professor Layton. In addition to these characters, bring back Brawl's roster and maybe the 5 from SSBM that didn't make it into SSBB and I'll be very happy.

Also how dare I miss a tiny off-hand Mach Rider discussion. I was just thinking how cool it would be to have that sort of post-apocalyptic Mad Max-esque atmosphere to play around with. Though, at the same time, I don't exactly know how I would incorporate that into his character itself, considering my views on his moveset are rather atypical.

I know Xenoblade was published by Nintendo, but is Monolith considered a Nintendo exclusive dev? That's the only reason I was considering Shulk 3rd party.

Edit: Looks like Monolith is owned by Nintendo, my bad. Guess Shulk is 1st party. Regardless of 1st or 3rd party, I'd still like to see all the characters I listed in SSB4.

Monolith studios is currently owned by Nintendo. Xenoblade and all of its characters are owned by Nintendo.

Although I probably will never dedicate effort into supporting him, I would be pleasantly surprised if I saw Waddle Dee make it. Other "pleasant surprise" characters for me would be Toad, Balloon Fighter, and Paper Mario. I don't care enough about them that I would put effort for their inclusion, but I would smile if they showed up.

On an unrelated note. I've just spent the past several hours re-watching old episodes of Digimon. There was a time in my childhood I wanted a Digimon crossover into SSB.

That'd be the only Namco rep I would be slightly interested in. I remember wanting a Digimon cross-over into Smash as well but of course that was all pre-2009 stuffs where I wanted 50+ DBZ characters in (still laugh at the roster I made back in 2007/2008).

Don't really care for the story of Golden Sun (I ****ing hate the intro to the first game, it drags on forever), but I always thought the gameplay was fairly enjoyable, with some memorable music and graphics. Never did finish the game, so it's one of the games I'm currently working on (check my sig).

On an unrelated note. I've just spent the past several hours re-watching old episodes of Digimon. There was a time in my childhood I wanted a Digimon crossover into SSB.

Actually went and watched the first three seasons in one massive marathon last year about this time, along with some DBZ and Yu Yu Hakusho, such good memories, I actually enjoy the shows now more than I when I was a kid. Gotta remember to pick up the first season while it's still on sale for $40 on Amazon.

Fun fact, Digimon Rumble Arena 2 (aka the game PSASBR is based on) goes for a good amount now. Was my Melee substitute when my parents accidentally got me a PS2 instead of a GC, I played the heck out of it. Such an underrated gem.
