I wonder, what characters would make it in as DLC?
I can think of a few such as Aeron, Zael, Krystal, Mewtwo, etc
That's the real issue...we are running out of franchises to suggest for smash...for better or worse.
We still have Xenoblade, Last Story, Pandora's Tower, Sin & Punishment, Golden Sun, Elite Beat Agents/Ouendan, Custom Robo, Animal Crossing, the Wii series, Punchout, etc.

Call me old fashioned, but just give me Goroh and I'll be happy. Captain Falcon needs someone to keep him company.

Fun fact, Digimon Rumble Arena 2 (aka the game PSASBR is based on) goes for a good amount now. Was my Melee substitute when my parents accidentally got me a PS2 instead of a GC, I played the heck out of it. Such an underrated gem.
I remember going through a phase where all I would play is the first Rumble Arena on my old PSX. In my childish mind I thought Gallantmon would be the coolest thing ever. Youthful bliss. That's why it's hard to get mad at the kids who request crazy stuff like Naruto or Goku, because we all had those dream requests not based in an ounce of likelihood.

That's why I like you.
Melee and Brawl gave me pleasant surprise characters as well. I was really happy to see Mr. Game & Watch due to my love of the Game & Watch Gallery series (I really liked it that I was able to recognize every one of his moves), and I was really excited about the Pokemon Trainer, and him having Squirtle, Ivysaur, and Charizard (I really enjoyed the original Pokemon games). Toon Link was another pleasant surprise for me, he was my preferred choice for a Zelda newcomer, however, I never felt he was worth the effort to fight Midna fanboys about him being worthy enough to include.

Besides the ones I mentioned in that post, Dixie Kong would be another character that would be a "pleasant surprise" to me (although I might actually get involved with her assuming she makes a new game appearance before Smash 4's release). I would also smile if Palutena, Little Mac, and K. Rool got in (though none of those characters are "surprises" since they are regarded as among the most likely characters). Obviously, I would be really hyped if Ridley, Mega Man, Mewtwo, and Roy were confirmed.

I am sure you wish Waddle Dee had more active supporters (and perhaps disappointed that I don't feel motivated enough to support him), however, I feel that his best hope does not lie with fan support, but rather Sakurai taking an interest in him. He's like Toad (attacked for the same reasons too), though unlike Toad, he obviously would bring something to the table in terms of moveset that no other character would bring.

As taken from Serebii:

"The text at the end enigmatically states that we don't know the REAL Mewtwo yet."
....That doesn't necessarily translate into a new form.
More or less it sounds like we simply have not seen Mewtwo's true power. Hence the title "Mewtwo Awakens".

@Tri: I'm not the only one who has played and enjoyed Digimon Rumble Arena 2 as a guilty pleasure here? Sweet.

And hence why I said it will probably be nothing more then Mewtwo overcoming some kind of mental limitation to amplify his power.

Blegh, just got off work. God I hate ice cream. Also, stop falling the obvious Impa traps people. Also also tired of people pretending like Zoroark "never caught on". He obviously did, otherwise we wouldn't talk about him. Like, Meloetta and Victini. THEY never caught on. (Victini was popula for a while, I won't deny that)

Jesus, thanks to /a/,
4chan time.I hate /v/. It's an awful place. I like /x/ though. It's mostly because I'm nuts though.

Yeah I'd agree with that. I still think he has shot at getting in, and fit in fairly well by playing off the humorous side of Metal Gear, only time will tell. Also please let it be Old Snake should he return.
I think we will know if Snake and Sonic return, oh, as soon as the first interview with Sakurai happens after the reveal trailer. It's GOING to be asked.

Does anyone think Genesect will gain any support as a result of the 'Mewtwo vs. Genesect' emphasis within that last Pokemon trailer?
Yes, but not enough. At this point, I think the roster is solidified, and Mewtwo, Zoroark or some XY Pokemon (Sakurai was shown) seem to be the characters to choose from.

Within context, "not catching on" is referring to how Zoroark has not been as successful as Lucario in popularity or notability (Hell, Lucario still is very popular and notable).
The only reason Zoroark was even discussed was mainly because of the notion that there HAS to be a new Pokemon that replaces Lucario (since of course, Lucario replaced Mewtwo  I'm being sarcastic) and Zoroark was the only one that "made sense" given their "similar designs" and the fact Zoroark had her own movie like Lucario did, etc.

Now that Zoroark is no longer among the "newest" of Pokemon due to X and Y, as well as Mewtwo of all 'Mons to return (no pun intended) in spotlight....
Shallow Zoroark support pretty much hit a brick wall at full force. While there are the people that legitmately liked Zoroark and wanted her in Smash for the sake of wanting her, they are a very small minority compared to the ones that merely expected her to be in for being a "new viable Lucario replacement".

@above video: "All y'all are a bunch of dumbasses!" "Ridley is TOO BIG. I don't see why y'all don't get that..."
I really hate to sound racist, but n***a please. I couldn't watch the rest of that video. I feared it might set me off too much to the point that I would do something about it....

Nah, he's not on the same scale as Mewtwo and Lucario, sure. (That's only because Lucario has been in Smash already) But he's still as requested as characters like Toad, Dixie, Saki and Goroh. He's not going away, and the rosters finalization is/was around the time where he is/was still popular/relevant. He has a very real chance of being added. It's definitely not at a screeching hault. Still the second most requested Pokemon newcomer, and at this point, X and Y is irrelevent. (In terms of popular choices from that gen) It won't matter who is most popular because the roster's done, or will be much before a fan favorite from that gen shows up. AND IF an X or Y character is added, it will be because he is the exact thing you guys seem to think Zoroark is, but Lucario wasn't, a flavor of the month gen mascot.

I've been taking my poll around to various communities, and I've talked with a lot of people (specifically redditors). They find him to be a very interesting addition with the whole illusion ability. He isn't Lucario2.0 in smash terms. Not by a long shot.

You know what? This quote just hit me like a ton of bricks. I just realized Namco-Bandai created those Rumble Arena games. While they aren't the most advanced fighters in the world, they are more in line with the Super Smash Bros experience. Makes me think that might be a reason why Namco-Bandai was able to put together a prototype for the game relatively quickly.

LOVE those damn games. The original is much better then the second though.

Except for in the case of those who do not understand that Mewtwo will definitely be in Smash 4. Those people have a severe case of the dumb dumbs.

Tis analogous to saying that Mario wasn't in Brawl. It is just obviously false. If you were to believe that, I would recommend you visit the nearest hospital so you can have your severe case of the dumb dumbs treated posthaste.

Well Mario is MARIO......and part of the original 12 (staying in the series since the beginning).

That can not be compared to Mewtwo, who has only been in ONE

It's okay you don't have to be ashamed, lots of people suffer from a severe case of the dumb dumbs. The important thing is telling someone you can trust, and accepting it yourself.

This can either be good or bad, considering that those games weren't exactly "polished", you know....

I'll be honest. Out of all of the characters Namco-Bandai could possibly contribute to the Super Smash Bros series, a Digimon character would probably appeal to me most. Predominantly for nostalgic reasons. Despite the fact that the licensing legality would be a nightmare...

I think it's a positive. It isn't like Sakurai is going to drop quality control all of a sudden.

Please call your personal physician and ask him about taking something for your severe case of the dumb dumbs.
Hmph. :glare:

I'll say mewtwo is very likely. Around 95%. But unless he's cofirmed, it CAN'T be 100%.

I'm more or less referring to the fact they developed the prototype so quickly, which I assume that's how the Rumble Arenas were made as well.
No doubt that the final game will definitely be polished, though.

Lucky for you, you only suffer from a mild case of the dumb dumbs. But a mild case of the dumb dumbs is a case of the dumb dumbs nonetheless, and you should seek medical help.

Considering we don't really know how long Namco-Bandai was working with Sakurai by the time their collaboration became public, I believe they've probably had enough time to get something solid in place.

On Golden Sun: I gotta admit, I also felt that GS was VERY traditional to the point of feeling like a generic RPG... Plot might feel at times pretty zig-zag too. On the other hand, I just love the representation and some of the concepts you don't see in other RPGs which give GS some of it's own flavour. I think I just love it being very humble, not doing anything too groundbreaking which lends it very accessible to a lot of people. And if anything, BIG CULT FANBASE. AND VERY HUMBLE AND LOVING ONE OF THAT.

Well yeah, each to their own.

Also if you didn't like Golden Sun, there's a chance you might like it's sequel, Lost Age. Definitely much better-improved installment with new things and much higher difficulty curve.

Star: Oh boy, I so remember playing DRA2 back in 2007. While I don't think it gets that near as Smash Bros, it holds up quite well.

I hope I'm not mistaking which installment it's from, but I liked to play as a Digimon who was cartoony and farted. I think it looked like a rabbit as well.

You guys are talking about Digimon, but not Etemon and I really don't understand how that's possible.

Also I dunno why it annoys me so much that Chrono thinks Pico could be a Snake clone, but he also thinks Goroh could be a Takamaru clone so what can you do.
