Cuts, cuts, and more cuts. We need to move on.What's the general topic at the moment?
Oh dear, would you like me to hold a bucket for you just in case? I think I have one in the basement...hold on. *Runs off*Blegh, this mushy talk is starting to make me gag.
I'll bee looking forward to that too since there would be no more excuses on why a character can't make it in a la Forbidden 7.One thing I am hoping Sakurai answers after the E3 unveil is whether there will be DLC (particularly DLC characters). If there is, I think any characters that could get pushed out due to time constraints (like with Brawl) would eventually get in due to DLC.
Even during the discussion here, Zoroark came up because he was the last Pokemon promoted. Not because people liked him. I'm less sure of him. Heck, maybe this would be the first game with no new Pokemon character.I think Lucario is safe so long as Pokemon gets five slots. Zoroark never caught on, and is now old news (heck, at this point Lucario is being promoted more by The Pokemon Company than Zoroark is), and Mewtwo is getting a big revival instead of another anthropomorphic Pokemon showing up.
Someone hasn't played enough JRPGs...IMO the Fire Emblem games should really just stick with one main protagonist(s) for the series then rather introducing a new one every one or two games. That way, the characters have a chance to establish themselves.
More like they're looking at the long term. They've seen the effects of microtransations in other games along with the reception of them so they want to avoid running into that. What seems to be the case is that they will either make the DLC for their games free (Animal Crossing) or will give more than a bang for the people's buck (New Super Luigi). The only exception so far appears to be Awakening, BUT I almost feel like Awakening was partially a DLC experiment.Iwata has admitted that they could make lots of profit, had they made paid DLC for Animal Crossing: New Leaf... but instead, they made the DLC free.
Nintendo has to be the less money-hungry company compared to other companies (but, they also have their faults).
FE: Awakening was the first Nintendo game to have DLC. And that was a decision that was made later in that game's development.More like they're looking at the long term. Oversized isn't my problem, I just don't like the way they play. That's been pretty consistent for every title to date.I don't mind Pokemon considering the franchise opens up more opportunities for movesets, but at the same time I don't like how oversized it feels.
For the record, I'm all for the Kirby series believe it or not. But at the moment what I want to see the most for the next game is for Kid Icarus to be expanded more.
As could I, not that they would have the same kind of charm as Snake's. If I was a big time Metal Gear fan though, I'd be pissed that they not only cut Snake but replaced his codecs with some knockoff.I could easily see Pit's conversations with various Kid Icarus characters (Palutena, Viridi, and Hades) replacing the codecs.
That kind of bias is just painful and cancerous.Habanero what..? Sonic can't leave cause his moveset was done crappy in Brawl, yet Mewtwo absolutely cannot return cause he'll have a crappy moveset like in Melee according to you? Are you just extremely biased or not?
On-cart DLC.Technically speaking, Pokemon games have been doing DLC long before Fire Emblem: Awakening.
The game is sort of like Final Fantasy. For a while some people believed the games were completely unrelated, creating new worlds, lore and characters. But Awakening is bringing them together. Turns out they just take place on separate secluded continents.IMO the Fire Emblem games should really just stick with one main protagonist(s) for the series then rather introducing a new one every one or two games. That way, the characters have a chance to establish themselves.
What I meant with that sarcastic comment is that, like Fire Emblem, most JRPGs tend to have different character casts per 1-3 (approx.) games. Dragon Quest, Final Fantasy, Tales and even some Nintendo ones like Fire Emblem and EarthBound. Even in the Pokémon games, this situation happens. The only RPGS I play are the main Pokémon games, let me be.
Before brawl was released I was told the game had 40 characters. Turns out that includes people who have multiple characters within them. Thinking it that way, Pokemon already has 6 (which is cool cause that's the same size of a party in pokemon). 7 or 8 seems a bit much.@ChronoBound: I'm confident that Pokémon will get five slots. Mewtwo is the most wanted character, there's bound to be at least one addition (Mewtwo and/or a Pokémon newcomer) and Lucario is also very likely to return. Heck, we could even see six slots (although a much less likely possibility).
Well. No Palutena then.At this point every series is pretty much complete, as such I believe there should be a bigger focus on establishing new franchises instead of unnecessarily padding out existing veteran franchises.
Most of them are, I'll say.At this point every series is pretty much complete, as such I believe there should be a bigger focus on establishing new franchises instead of unnecessarily padding out existing veteran franchises.
Personally, I don't care about adding to existing series or adding new series. At this point it's about adding fun characters. At this point every series is pretty much complete, as such I believe there should be a bigger focus on establishing new franchises instead of unnecessarily padding out existing veteran franchises.
You seemed to have misread me. I said there would be a bigger focus on establishing new franchises onto the roster, not solely focus on them.Well. No Palutena then.
You seemed to have misread me. That troll face was there for a reason. You seemed to have misread me. I said there would be a bigger focus on establishing new franchises onto the roster, not solely focus on them.
Not to mention, when so many small franchises exist, the jockeying to boost some above the others by putting their protagonists in Smash, regardless of who they are or what they have to offer, becomes quite contentious. That's the real issue...we are running out of franchises to suggest for smash...for better or worse.
