If you want a Bike user why not go for Mach Rider instead? He lends himself much more to the type of moveset you suggest, also he has weapons at his disposal and would make a good rival for Falcon.

This is where looking at movesets first pays off, between Mach Rider and Excite Biker, who is the better option? I think that answer is evident if you look at moveset potential. So now I ask the question, why are you fixated on Excite Biker then? Are you really looking at what would make a fun game, or are you trying to placate some innate senseless wish-fulfillment. Ask yourself this question, I don't mean it as criticism, I'm just trying to get you to think in a different way.

Eh. Excite Biker was simply the topic at hand. Yeah, Mach Rider is definitely the better option, I know that.

Pico for Smash 4 then. He could easily take Snake's stuff.

Jesus, thanks to /a/, every time I hear the name Pico around here, I can't help but think of 'Boku no Pico.' Not that I've watched it personally, but I know what it is, and it gets thrown around there so much as a troll for newfags. Who the hell IS Pico anyway?

Anyway, while I do agree Snake has a chance of not returning, I disagree with the notion that he has the highest chance of it. There are other characters with a higher risk of it. Also, if Snake goes so does Sonic. Snake leaving would cause as much dissent as Sonic leaving, as he was actually liked and competitively viable, he was also a very interesting and unique character.

However, as Smash Chu said, sometimes guests don't return under the notion that they are guests, so it COULD happen, and people should be prepared for it, however I wouldn't put money down either way. Lucas, Falco and even Ike leave before Snake does imo. Especially if Sonic returns.

In terms of guests, I'd only like Sonic to return since he played a huge role in Nintendo's rivalry with Sega in the 90s and they've been getting close ever since. I'm indifferent on Snake since I never really found Metal Gear interesting (I blame the NES games and the heavy reliance on story and long cutscenes in the MGS games).

No way Lucas, Falco, and Ike are more likely to leave than Snake. Those three are actual Nintendo characters, and one has been in two Smash Bros. games so far. Of those three, I would say only Ike approaches Snake in terms of likeliness to be cut. You said Snake was your favorite character in Brawl, so perhaps your favoritism for him is clouding your judgment here. Its basically unanimously seen as Snake having the most dire chances of returning of all of Brawl's cast.

As for Pico, he is one of the four original pilots in the F-Zero series (made his first appearance in the original F-Zero for the SNES). Pico's background is that he was an elite soldier for his planet's army. He eventually retired and became a F-Zero pilot. He still operates as an assassin outside of F-Zero races. His hobby is collecting knives, of which he remarks, "they cut so well." Within the F-Zero universe, Pico is notorious due to his aggressive driving style causing the great crash, which almost got the entire sport of F-Zero banned. He is the only non-villainous F-Zero pilot in which Mr. Zero (a man who interviews F-Zero pilots) is afraid of.

Snake is certainly Brawl's most expendable character, but I don't necessarily believe that makes him a likely cut. After mentioning how successfully he felt Brawl's third parties were pulled off, it doesn't seem as though Sakurai will boot Snake or Sonic immediately, and barring complications, I don't think Konami or Sega will be the ones to say "Nah, we don't want them to show up this time."

The overwhelming majority of fans in both the West and East appear to want all of Brawl's roster to return, and after a single game of cutting characters, Sakurai can see the consequences of doing so (particularly as far as Mewtwo and Roy go).

I don't see any reason for him to be cut, other than "Mother doesn't deserve two characters" and possibly time constraints. I would be surprised if Lucas does not return.

I think Itoi will try to get a Mother trilogy pack released in the coming years.

Yeah, you're probably right there, I'm not gonna deny it. I'm also a huge Metal Gear fan so, there's also that. So if I'm allowed to have at least a bit of bias on something I'll take it there. That's my personal stance on Snake and I'll defend it till bitter defeat. Can he be cut, yes. Am I prepared for it? Yes. Would I boycott the game if he didn't return? Of course not.

I still think Lucas and Ike have the highest chances of not coming back, I always throw in Falco because I want him gone for being a clone. Toon Link used to be on there too, but with the WW remake I can no longer say that with a straight face.

Anyway, despite the other two being Nintendo characters and Snake and Sonic not, I don't think you should compare the chances they have like that. Guests and 1st party characters play by different rules and thus need to be analyzed as such. The chances Snake has of returning don't correlate with the chances the 1st party characters have of returning. You can really only compare Snake to Sonic and the potential 3rd party newcomers imo. As I've said before, if Sonic comes back, Snake will likely do so as well. If Sonic doesn't come back, neither will Snake.

On Pico, that was pretty cool. I'll take him over Goroh or Black Shadow any day. I've only played FZero X, so I only know the racers by their machines.

I am sure if he does allow questions someone will bring up to him whether Snake and Sonic will return. If they won't I expect Sakurai to give out a straight "no", if they will return Sakurai will give a fuzzy dodgey answer.

I would really not care much for Ike, but I wouldn't want Lucas gone.

I'd hate to see Ike gone since he still has tons of potential and I supported him for Brawl. As for Lucas, never gave two ****s about him and I didn't like him in the roster, he never sat right with me as a character (I've never liked whiny kids barring Shinji from EVA). Plus cutting Lucas means you can use his moves to improve Ness and he could very well be an Alt. for him.

Cutting Ike on the other hand, means cutting Ike and losing an original character with untapped potential.

I think it's a safe bet to expect an interview after the E3 reveal. Also, I think that question is very likely as it's the one pending in just about everyone's minds.

Our best case scenario as far as post-E3 information goes is Sakurai releasing a journal full of behind-the-scenes Brawl info that we can take into consideration in our discussions.

Not at this point anymore. Brawl Pokemon + Mewtwo is the most likely outcome. I think it's safe to say that Mewtwo alongside Palutena can be considered the most likely newcomers for Smash 4.
