Wasn't it for Melee between Balloon Fighter, Mach Rider, Urban Champion and Ice Climbers? Was this also ever proofed?

Not that I'm aware of.Wasn't it for Melee between Balloon Fighter, Mach Rider, Urban Champion and Ice Climbers? Was this also ever proofed?
Weird reason to add or lose somebody...I think Snake is the single most likely character not to return for Smash 4. The main reason Kojima even wanted Snake in Brawl was so that his son could play a game that had a character he created in it (since the MGS games are not appropriate for children). By now I would say Kojima's son is at least a teen.
Sakurai posted reasons that he rejected the "considered" Urban Champion, Balloon Fighter, Bubbles, and Excite Bike for the spot. Cue me and Starphonix arguing whether these were good reasons.Wasn't it for Melee between Balloon Fighter, Mach Rider, Urban Champion and Ice Climbers? Was this also ever proofed?
The fact that they're paired up isn't a "gimmick" because their entire playstyle is designed around the fact they are paired up, and it has been since the beginning. There's a difference between quirks that a character might have, and a gimmick; while they both can help seperate that character from the rest of the pack, gimmicks are largely useless and are only relevant when the novelty of being able to use that gimmick for the first few times is still there, whereas quirks a lot of times are synonymous with and even essential to the character they are associated, as is the case with characters like Olimar and the Ice Climbers in SmashOnce you get past the double gimmick, ICs have nothing.
Diddy, Olimar and Ice Climbers > Snake.Oh well, Snake was way too good anyway. Got to make sure everyone sucks except for Meta Knight.
Master Chief for Smash 4? Ew.I think Snake is the single most likely character not to return for Smash 4. I was refering less to actual gameplay and more towards reasons to include them in the first place. I.E. If it were simply Ice Climber in the original game, would the character be in Smash? The fact that they're paired up isn't a "gimmick" because their entire playstyle is designed around the fact they are paired up, and it has been since the beginning. So I really don't understand the logic behind saying "Oh, without x or y, this character ain't ****", because under those conditions, you're taking away what makes the character who they are in the first place, therefore making your argument invalid. I'll even put it to you this way: would you be singing this same tune if Excite Biker instead of the Ice Climbers were playable, and his playstyle revolved around the use of his bike?
Have I mentioned that humans are lacking in brain cells?Master Chief, Goku, Cloud and Naruto.
Those suggestions pop up everytime, and everything I cringe about the thought.
Pico for Smash 4 then. He could easily take Snake's stuff.Weird reason to add or lose somebody...
As much as I think snake looks awkward and out of place in brawl it seems kind of bad to throw out a character with a unique set of moves without replacing him.
Kojima's a responsible parent, we're not going to be able to get rid of Snake until Smash 5 or 6.I think Snake is the single most likely character not to return for Smash 4. Nah, let's just give em to SlippyPico for Smash 4 then. He could easily take Snake's stuff.
Thank Hylia.Neva gonna happen since Microsoft is Nintendo's rival and he can't appear in a Nintendo or Sony published video game. Embarrass
When I first saw that, I was pretty much certain that Snake would return. GAMING IS A CONSPIRACY! SAKURAI HAD THE ROSTER PLANNED ALL THIS TIME!11Really, I do not like third party characters one bit. Good riddance if Snake does end up leaving. Just, why have Raiden in PSBA instead of Snake? Honestly. We got Heihachi, who is the mascot of his franchise. Why not Snake?
Actually, I don't really think anyone is in danger of getting cut. But thats coming from the guy that mains Link, so what do I know?

Point still stands either wayI was refering less to actual gameplay and more towards reasons to include them in the first place. I.E. If it were simply Ice Climber in the original game, would the character be in Smash?
I could easily see Pit's conversations with various Kid Icarus characters (Palutena, Viridi, and Hades) replacing the codecs. If Snake was gone, not sure what I would miss more between him and the codecs.
And Jigglypuff. If Snake leaves, please let him take Sonic wih him.
I like the way you think, Chrono. Imagine Hades insulting villains like Bowser and Ganondorf for their constant failures.I could easily see Pit's conversations with various Kid Icarus characters (Palutena, Viridi, and Hades) replacing the codecs.
Replaced with Wigglytuff from PMD: Explorers. And Jigglypuff.
If you want a Bike user why not go for Mach Rider instead? He lends himself much more to the type of moveset you suggest, also he has weapons at his disposal and would make a good rival for Falcon. For a bike moveset, it's not like the entire thing has to be bike based attacks. You could throw in a few punches, but primarily use stuff like donuts and wheelies for attacks. Pinning a good playstyle for them is a bit difficult, but hey, ICs' probably had the same problem.
The return of Hades would be a killer app in it of itself.I like the way you think, Chrono. Imagine Hades insulting villains like Bowser and Ganondorf for their constant failures.
Wigglytuff for assist trophey.Replaced with Wigglytuff from PMD: Explorers.
YOOOOOM-TAAAAH!
How has anybody not thought of this tell nowAnd Little Mac and Doc Louis!
No, but they obviously did not offer anything that interested Sakurai. Looking at the Ice Climbers, I think he made the best decision. So, because Balloon Fighter and Excite Biker are completely original, they can't get an interesting moveset?
I answered the question. While Sakurai respects the fans wishes, he is autonomous in his position as director to do what he wants -- or as I said last night, give fans what they don't know they want. There is an old saying in the sports community, "if you start listening to the fans, you'll soon be sitting with them." This does not mean ignore fans and do whatever you feel like, but what it does mean is that a coach (or director) should have the ability to do what they think is best for their team (or game). The key is balance, and Sakurai has done that. If you have a personal issue with Sakurai's selection, well, there isn't much to do at this point. You missed the question. This isn't about Sakurai, it's about the fans. Will the fans accept random characters for the sake of gimmicks? Should we expect Son Goku because of this? (Not the anime character, there's a support thread for him somewhere on this board)
Sakurai thought differently.I meant excluding a character from getting the same treatment in Smash as everyone else. And, again, all you've given me is hammer and fights in pairs. Dedede had a hammer, didn't keep him from missing the bench mark twice. Once you get past the double gimmick, ICs have nothing.
If I recall, there was no "competition" between Pit, Ice Climbers, and Balloon Fighter. It was simply another rumor made up.
I don't understand Japanese, what exactly was said at the end of the trailer that hints at a new form?
Actually, I remember that somewhere here. It was a while ago, though, but I loved the idea. How has anybody not thought of this tell now
You get the lobotheduck emblem of approval (body of a duck, head of a wolf)
I know right? His moveset should have been like Super Smash Flash 2's, where he has some useful attacks and not too many Spin Dashes (Side and Down Special) like in Brawl.I would be a little peeved at Sonic in particular because of his moveset not getting the improvements it deserves. Sonic is one of those characters that has potential but never achieved it. But at the same time, I do understand why it would happen. Guest characters don't stay for long in video games, especially when the game in question is a Nintendo crossover.
