actually as far as i remember, the Krystal thread was the biggest, but that was due to hate between the furries and the non-furries (it was a racist war i guess). then other smashers and i motivated people to post more in the diddy thread and we overtook Krystal.
now that Ridley is catching up, i urge us to be number 1 on this site, just to show our loyalty

Everyone loves Ridley. The only ones that don't are internet kids who will be smitten by Ridley's flames brought to their knees by his iron tail of justice....

We need to start making fake Ridley pictures and distributing them so that all the noobs will be like "orly??/ f0r r33lz?" and everyone else will be like "nuh uhhh..." and then we'll have ourselves some good old-fashioned fun.

I think Ridley should be in his Metroid Prime form, seeing as that was the first Metroid game I played. Stands out the most in my mind.

I know, Sakurai secretly hates Ridley. I don't like him too much myself. He looks cool and all, but he's got no potential. His wings are too big and wouldn't fit. Also, Sakurai confirmed that Ridley won't be in Brawl when he said that Bowser was the biggest character. So ha! Cry and weep all you want, but Ridley's never gonna be in Brawl.

I'm pretty sure that a few pages ago, someone was arguing that the Melee-intro Ridley wasn't incontrovertible evidence that he isn't too big to be in Brawl. Just in case the size argument hasn't been COMPLETELY pummeled into the ground yet, I present you with this:
I think we can all agree that the melee trophy was a pretty good representation of what he should look like. If you assume that the wings and tail have no hitbox, he barely needs to be bigger than Samus, and could certainly be smaller than Bowser.
Honestly, he could probably stand to be even a little bit BIGGER than he is in this image.

i think the wings size is still an issue, mainly with ground animation... oh and for an animal you got to admit krystal is hot, now the game on the other hand could have been allot better

He could easily stand more upright and fold up his wings when he's standing still. He would just open them up for flying and dashing (and maybe certain attacks...). Heck, he doesn't even HAVE to unfurl them for dashing. That's just the only pose I've got for him.

plus, wing size doean't become an issue unless they give them hitboxes. if they're transparent the whole fight and just a detail, wing size doesn't matter really.

That's a good theory. But i'm guessing his tail would be one of his main methods of fighting, maybe for grabs and special moves. Ridley will be in Brawl in one form or another. I'm hoping playable, but he might be in as a boss fight or perhaps just a Attack Trophy. Although I'm pretty sure he will be a playable char.
If not that will be gay as he's my #1 most wanted characture and I haven't even played any recent metroid games, going to pick up Prime 3 on august 20th though.

Note that, if I'm not mistaken, it's only the browser that makes the Ridley image look like it has light pixels everywhere. I gave the lighter pixels at the edges a slight transparency as well, which probably doesn't show in browsers.

I don't see the tail being a huge issue in that sense. It wouldn't really be any different from any other disjointed hitbox, would it? It could be ignored most of the time and then become part of a move when it becomes relevant, like a sword. I mean, I'm pretty sure you can't hit Mewtwo in the tail when he's just running around...The only obstacle would be that you probably couldn't just have the tail be limp and flail around on its own according to gravity, since the game would need to know where it is before he attacks with it. I can't imagine it would be THAT difficult to deal with, though.
And tiny-winged Ridley makes me sad. Which sucks because, like, 90% of the Ridleys have them. (How does he fly with those things?!)

If he was going to be a boss, they would have made him a boss in Melee; they already put enough effort into the model for the intro animation for it...And if was going to be an all-out boss with a complete moveset, it wouldn't take much effort to just make him playable.

BTW, I just noticed...Fawriel's sig is a furry O_o
