Accomodation Information

Reloaded Accommodation Information



- Single rooms $80 per night
- twins, triples and other rooms $40 per person.
- a one off, refundable $50 bond per room is required on arrival (and refunded on departure)

Bedding

Single rooms have at least a double bed.
Twin rooms will have either 2 single beds or a single and a double bed.
Triple rooms will have 3 single beds.

All rooms contain air conditioners and their own bathrooms.

Booking

Bookings must be recieved by no later than December 31, 2009. All bookings must be emailed to accommodation@reloadedlan.org.

Payment

The Deposit consists of the first nights rental, and should be paid by Jan 2nd, 2010.
if you cancel less than 7 days before the event, you will not get your deposit back.

Location

The Hotel is located at 25 Bank Street, Adelaide. About 15 minutes drive from the venue.
It is about 40m from the Casino and Rundle Mall shopping districts. The Hotel is open 24 hours.

Age Restrictions

People under the Age of 18 must be accompanied by an Adult or person over the age of 18 as
legally we cannot lease a room to minors.

Notes

Your bond will not be refunded if rooms are trashed, and you will be banned from the Reloaded event.

****ing rage, I accidentally closed the page after typing out a story. *Types out again*

Motel Adjacent Casino, I absolutely hate that place. One time when I stayed there I had one of those rooms that has a door that connects to another room, the door was open. I went downstairs and told the receptionist (some fat smelly jerk) and he says "It's ok, nobody is staying in that room anyway". So I went to the Casino, wasted my money a bit, came back, and went to sleep. At 6am, some half naked guy just opens the connecting door and stares at me for like 3 seconds (I was half asleep) and says "oh.... I didn't know anyone was in here". At this point I was awake in about 5 seconds.

15 minutes later he comes back in and says "Oh hey, you want to come and chill out with us?" I'm like "No, I've gotta go to work soon", he then says "We've got... drugs... if you're interested", again, I said no in the most polite way possible. He then closes the door. Then a few minutes later, as I'm packing up all my stuff trying to gtfo of there as quickly as possible, he knocks on the door again; because he was such a weirdo, I naturally said "Yeah" and he comes in, this time he asks me "Do you have any condoms?". I was like "um... lol no". I'm assuming the guy and the other guy in their room were gay since I didn't hear any females through the incredibly thin walls. I very quickly rushed out the room at this point and roared at the receptionist, got my money back, and wasted it in the Casino at like 7am. >_>

I'm not saying the place is bad as it's cheap and is located almost in the middle of Adelaide, just make sure the bloody connecting room doors are locked if you stay there.

So the real question is,

who's up for housing out of staters/
convincing cao to get come and a huge hotel room <3<3/
getting a hotel room anyway?

I literally cannot host anyone myself because I have 29472047 relatives at my house around that time, but I'll be willing to pitch in some money for a hotel room for people. I can't do much though because I'm tight on money until about March which is why I can't attend any OoS tourneys lately.

lol @ housing in Adelaide. Good luck. I have a house with 3 brothers, 2 sisters, 2 dogs (one is my stepsister), and my mother.

My house is full of freaks and impossible to host anything other than free money. This is the problem with Adelaide, such a SMALL smash scene. Aurgh.

That's annoying, the ONLY nights I cannot host someone are the 15th, 16th and 17th. Otherwise I would have been more than happy to provide some accommodation. I'll try but it's unlikely.

There has been a large plethora of ambiguity and "Switching" that I've seen relating to the prizes at Reloaded 5, and no one around me seems to know exactly what's up for grabs.

We were initially told that there would be $500 for doubles.
Then at some point I believe I read that the $500 would be for singles, and no information about doubles was given.

Front page has $500 split split over 1v1, 2v2 and FFA. But nothing specific. DJBrowny said something like $100/$50 for 1st and second in both singles and doubles?

Could we get full information on this?

If that happens, I'll use my Turkish influence and have the place bombed. NOTHING about it seems organised. I already spoke to Luke about wanting someone who has exp with BIG smash events running the brackets/pools (like you or luke or Ted).

I seriously am going to go all Jerry Springer if this event isn't ran properly and sidelined (no offense to Jamage, it's not your fault) like the rest of SA's smash usually is.

Well instead of letting it happen and complaining, we should force Jamage to give his word that everything will be concrete, and follow up with the other organisers of Reloaded so that brawl isn't bumped around or delayed.

What time are you arriving on friday Shaya/Luke/Tedeth?

Brawl 1vs1 is on 11.30am Saturday, as indicated by the timetable. There is no indication that there was a change, perhaps it was always on saturday and there was misinformation. The doubles are 10am on sunday.

Honestly, you can't expect out of state apperance if **** like this keeps happening. I was considering booking tickets to arrive Saturday night, postponing because of "Chances are Reloaded will **** us over".
The rest of the Australian smash scene has a better standard than this.

You can't leave us questioning to the last ****ing day expecting us or anyone to be happy.
East Coast boycotted last reloaded because of this exact same ****.

Edit: I also signed up and had a whinge. Wookie (the guy in charge of the whole thing) said he'd be happy to host all Smash stuff on the Sunday, so that's some good news, I guess.

Still waiting on information regarding the prize pool though.

Hi guys

the tournaments were split over two days due to conflicting admin requirements, ie. admins were not available or required for other duties. I do see the sense in having both events on the sunday, however this means one of the smash events would need to start early in the day - and we're talking 7 or 8am here.

The problem is a lack of time with so many comps running, and not wanting to schedule anything after 1am due to complaints about late night competitions.

The second part of your complaints stem from the use of items in the 2v2 format as indicated by AVCONs ruleset. AVCONs involvement aims to leverage a more casual player base, as indicated by a much larger event player base at avcon than we traditionally get at Reloaded. Jamage continues to run the more pro 1v1 tournament according to the usual rules.

bear in mind that the average smash player will pay $10 to enter the competition over the two days, this means that at the present $450 total prize money for smash, i need 45 players to break even just on the prize money. The unfortunate side effect of this financial reality is I do need to be mindful of the casual playerbase because this is how the comps are funded. Please note that the $450 total prize money for smash is $50 less than the original amount promised (as opposed to Halo and CSS which are recieving cuts of $1500 each due to poor registrations).

On both questions I should have more answers tomorrow night after the admin meeting.
