This is all about the fans. No tricks, no nothing. It makes sense from a business standpoint as well.

This being Paid DLC, they are going to want to make DLC that fans will actually buy. (This of course means no curveballs, like or ). Thus, looking to the fanbases makes sense. Getting characters that have large fan followings is very likely to generate the most profit.

All that said, this also makes sense why the ballot is open to all video game characters. Nintendo (and Sakurai) know there are several 3rd party/indie characters (Like good ol Rayman, or Shantae), that have a large and/or growing fanbase that would love to see those characters join the game. That said, this is why I have persistently snapped at people that like to say "They are 3rd party so their chances are less." Actually, in some cases their chances can be HIGHER. There are several characters out there that have HEAVY amounts of popularity. Ones that would pretty much guarantee a profit. (Looking at you limbless wonder >_>) Thus, it doesn't take rocket science to see they would put in the effort to do the licensing stuff. It's also why the other companies are so loose on this too... the allure of the revenue outweighs normal licensing quirks...

Thus, this ballot is going to be bigger than ever. Being all about the fans, it's going to be interesting. I can't wait to see what we get out of all of this.."

Again, everyone should not expect anything from Nintendo, nor the other companies. If a character some want makes it into the cursed game, good, but, what if it doesn't? I really would make me sad seeing everyone dissapointed or angry at the companies again for not getting what you had hoped for.

Again, everyone should not expect anything from Nintendo, nor the other companies. If a character some want makes it into the cursed game, good, but, what if it doesn't? I really would make me sad seeing everyone dissapointed or angry at the companies again for not getting what you had hoped for.

I can't speak for everyone, but I don't have my hopes up for any of these characters. If they get the chance, that's good, glad to hear. But if not, oh well, it's personally not my problem if it doesn't happen right now, or for a long time. I've gotten my fun out of the series, and it's fine if more characters I'd wouldn't mind to see get in at this point or not. I got other things to concern myself with.

Neither do I, and it is exactly the same for me, I get worried about things that will actually affect my life, like my studies at University and practicing my drawing/modeling skills, not the decisions from a game, unless I was working on my own game project in a not so far future.

Yeah. Totally reasonable, and understandable. At this point in my life, as much as this game did impacted me when I was younger (along side Rayman Arena xD), now I got things I need to focus on if I'm going to make something out of my career. And at this point, I need the support to help myself and my family.

But for those that still has the time for this stuff, Smash things, just don't let it get to you all, and stress you out over a video game, please.

Yeah, when I was younger, R2 and Smash 64 were the games that got me even wanting more to become a game designer, xD having the silly childhood dream of working at Ubi or Nintendo, now I know that is too far fetched, but I still want to become a pro concept artist/modeler/animator. And well, I hope the same, even if I start with something small like designing logos or something, but I want to make use of what I have learned so far.

xD Huh, how convenient. But yeah, wish you luck when it comes to your career. I'm glad that my childhood heroes to this day have made such and impact on me and cause me to become inspired to become a game design, along side being an artist. I hope the best of luck comes for you as well too, Andrea.

Well, we said it once and we'll say it again. We've reached the point of no return for real this time. If Sakurai is going fan service to end this Smash Bros with a bang, then there's no holding back with us wanting Rayman now. It's time to give everything we got for this to make our dream a reality.

Besides, I just made a birthday wish for Rayman to be announced as DLC. That's the one wish I want to be made real now.
