Cannot Sonic's Tech Chase be avoided with DI down and Teching right before it ends?

Perhaps you're right lol. I'm usually with my gf till around 1 or 2 though and it doesn't help that I'm two hours behind a lot of the usual posters XD

Just wondering about a theory. Using Smash DI you can move around a bit during certain hit stuns right? Does this mean that if you were in the air just as you were about to get hit by certain attacks that you could Smash DI yourself towards the ground and therefore tech?

Yeah, some attacks you can SDI into the ground and tech. TL's dsmash comes to mind. The first hit normally pops you into the air (kind of) and into the second hit. But you can SDI and tech before you get hit be the second hit.

TLs spike when you are grounded or in the air? In the air I know you can just normally tech it. But I didn't know you could do it when it by it on the ground.

Just do it in the middle. The tilt isn't a huge difference.

Hmmm... what are you doing exactly? Training mode or Group? Do you have a list of levels you've already done? And it's Utilt with no DI and with just backwards DI no momentum cancel right?

It's a training mode up tilt (doesn't decay, but isn't fresh), with absolutely no DI or momentum cancels by the opponent.
