To be honest. I wouldn't mind cutting Pit if we could get both Palutena and Medusa.

You know, I've noticed this. Kid Icarus was treated like an "Original 8" franchise at E3 2013, and Pit is getting a pretty big influx of content in this game. Not really accounting for the fact that Uprising came from Smash and Smash Bros. made Kid Icarus what it is now, more or less. But look:

Mario / Luigi / Bowser
Donkey Kong / Diddy Kong / K. Rool
Link / Zelda / Ganondorf
Samus / Z.Samus / Ridley
Kirby / Meta Knight / King Dedede
Fox / Falco / Wolf
Pikachu / Whoever / Mewtwo

With Ridley, Mewtwo, and K. Rool as possible and very popular inclusions, every Original 8 franchise except for Yoshi has at least three characters: The protagonist, a major side character or secondary protagonist, and a major classic villain.

Besides that, with Palutena being a "popular" choice and Medusa being a "unique surprise" choice, Sakurai could add both and make a pretty significant number of people satisfied AND give Kid Icarus a good amount of representation in Smash. While I think he would go with unique over popularity for this game, I would think Sakurai knows one of the big things about Medusa and Palutena is their own character conflict with each other. Besides that, he probably also knows that this could be the last chance (or rather, the best chance) for this level of Kid Icarus addition to Smash Bros. since really, who knows when we'll see another Kid Icarus.

We have 11 pages, we make silly jokes, we're centered around a character who hasn't been 100% deconfirmed and isn't impossible to begin with, we repeat ourselves every few pages...

If we're not a support thread I dunno what a support thread is.

EDIT: Man, having less support will work in our favor if Sakurai decides he wants to use Medusa for the surprise factor.

Would that even be the weirdest thing he's ever done? Besides, Hades is kind of a walking spoiler of a one-time villain. It'd be like putting Demise over Ganondorf at this point.

Well, some could argue that Sheik and Zelda were a spoiler in Melee. Also, Ganondorf is somewhat a spoil in Brawl. But yes, Hades and Demise would be major spoilers, compared to Sheik/TP Ganondorf.

We should compare how KI is represented with other "Big 8" franchises (Characters, stages, items, ect...). Just to see how big it actually is in SSB4.

Yeah sure. The surprise villain appearing during a fake ending is clearly a whole new level of spoil compared to "Ganon is in this Zelda".

Then I guess there's the issue of, Sheik isn't a spoiler. But the fact that Sheik and Zelda turn into each other with a down special is? I dunno what the issue is there, I imagine it only works because Sheik and Zelda are the same person. They're close, but Hades is literally the face of one of the biggest plot twists in the game. The difference in whether seeing them is a spoiler, maybe?

Dark Pit could be considered one maybe, but Dark Pit existing isn't a huge spoiler, especially considering how early that happens. But that's just what I think.

six items? ore club, tower defense tower thing, back shield, xbomb, drill arm and? oh treasure box. That's a lot. Not that I'm complaining, Uprising is one of my favorite games out there.

Six new items, at least two stages, and presumably at least one new character. Smash and Kid Icarus just have an interesting relationship at this point.

Also I still can't really mentally picture new Medusa with her classic palette very well. Probably because she's not nearly as green OR white.

Palutena being in Brawl doesn't surprise me, since they made the decision with the final smash to attach Palutena to Pit. But Brawl did essentially ignite Kid Icarus' revival, which Sakurai took into his own hands after Brawl. And now here we are after Kid Icarus Uprising, getting tons of Kid Icarus content with Pit being treated like he was in the Original 8.

What I mean is that Palutena's is the only non playable, non hostile character to appear in the Subspace Emissary, and that's already some really good representation for Kid Icarus.

Also, Pit is really in the spotlight in the SSE.

And that was before Uprising was a thing. So yeah, some stuff is probably going to go down in terms of Kid Icarus content in this game.

Meanwhile, Gamefaqs considers Medusa to be "bland" and "without character" just because she's the only character in Uprising who isn't a prop for comedy, a punchline, OR a trans-dimensional spider monster. Disappointing.

Also, I really like how Medusa looked in Medusa's Revenge. Her eyes were so creepy, it was pretty awesome.
