[QLD] Brisbane/Gold Coast Meets & Tournaments

Funny thing is, I called today to switch to the smaller room and Marie told me the smaller room has been booked, so there's a chance that she may just decide to discount the larger room for me.

We'll see what happens either way :)

Well I've put it across that way already.

I've told her that I'm in a bind because the $200 room may put me out of pocket. She said if the people in the $150 room pull out (aparently they frequently do), she'll be able to give me that room. But otherwise she'd probably discount the room for me.

Btw if anyone in the smash scene plays Yugioh or has some old cards that they used to play with, I am holding a yugioh meet this weekend. should be about 6 of us attending so far, and there maybe some smash on the side too. Let me know if you're interested, it's on the saturday from 10am until as late as we want.

But I can't make it :( have to gi to places then I have Unilan that day (Lulz-worthy smash tourney at bond, who's going btw?)

You should come play lulz smash at mine. Jaice will more than likely attend, so full legit training for smash even if you don't want to play cards. I can give lifts if necessary.

Will play you another time then Toki. Will be playing well into the night assume anyway. Especially with my deck.

Teaming with Jaice sounds awesome but I was conferring with emery to team again. Maybe I'll force a raincheck upon him so Jaice can help me win back the money he took off me at PoO.

She would get a lot better if she chose to train with me more often but she refuses to because apparently "I am too annoying to verse".

How many people are confirmed for this next competition?

It would be good to get Emery back playing again. More variety in characters to verse makes it more interesting, instead of the armada or Snakes. Would be good if we could get each person use a different character. I have not versed a good Lucario, Toon Link, ZSS etc. competitively for ages.

EDIT: I agree about variety. I'm picking up Lucario in brawl and Samus in melee. See how that pans out haha.

There was a pretty decent Lucario at the last couple of LS's. I think his name was Andrew.

Also, there's a pretty good reason why some characters are not used. What's more intriguing to me is that apparently Falco is high up the tier list for Brawl but no-one uses him. Tis a mystery.

I'll probably open with Melee Doubles then probs Brawl dubs, then Melee singles and Brawl singles.

Gives people time for friendlies during the off game too.

I think I may have only versed him in friendlies though. Should get him and the other three that were with him to take part in SP-V.

The main reason why many characters are not used is because MK exists. When is he being banned? At least we could make a rule like 'Cannot use MK for the second or third fight in a set'. I think that would be reasonable for (pocket) MK users. QLD ruleset DOES NOT have to be exactly the same as all of the others states.

It is puzzling how Falco is overseen in QLD...

Hope you can get that Lucario up to or even better than the level of Diddy Kong, Sea. No guilt this time too haha. To add some variety, I plan on using 5 characters in the next tournament. Will have to confirm on the day who is teaming with who. I think Matthew will be definitely with Blade though. Double laser combo, AD3PT?

DOUBLE LASERS F***ING EPIC!!!

I'm teaming with Sea now, but Vyse can I team with Blade aswell? Seeing as there is no money involved. If both come up against each other, Sea or Blade can just have a Lv 9 Luigi on his team.

I'm gonna be riding the guilt train express this next tourney.
