So, Sonic = best new character under "Melee"-ish physics so far? It certainly appears that way. I don't even think the awesomeness that Snake and Ike have to offer will compare in the end to the insanity that is Sonic and his taunt canceling, moonwalking mind ****.

Melee is fast, Sonic is fast

I guess they just combine.

Oh, well until now what I saw of Sonic is that he will be the best character in terms of movimentation. I guess people will hate fighting him as he can run all over the place with no fear of being interrupted easily and mostly no fear of projectiles either.

Counterpicks on him will be those that restrain his mobility. But that just for now, there too much time until beta :B

GHNeko, this reminds me of Peaches back in the day not using her wavedash. I wavedash with Peach all day so I will be doing the same with Sonic.

My Sonic > Yours :bee:

OH YOU FANCY HUH
see i can't **** talk you because i know you're a better player

for now

but obv sonic doesnt have 1 playstyle so we'll see who's is better after we match levels

Run forward and pivot grab to tech chase?
Too easy.
Moonwalk across half the stage and grab?
I came.

I think I might have to start saying techniSoCal now. Even though every fiber of my being wants to hate that saying. I just have to say it.

soo increasing sonic's friction? (im not trying to ruin sonic, im just thinking that his moonwalk is too good atm)

He cant have a great wavedash, fast movement and good ariel monuverability, no character that i can think of has that... fox has good wavedash, fast run but no ariel monuverability. Falcon has high friction, but fast running speed and good ariel monuverability etc etc

even the floatyer characters like marth, sheik and jiggs didnt have all 3 values as high

i vote yes :p

I'm 99% sure his friction is already pretty much fixed, any more and his wavedash (which is already short btw) will become worse. We can't (for the moment) change friction during a specific action either. He as is barely goes anywhere when you run > Usmash with him.

From what I've noticed so far, I'm really liking the direction this game is going. There are still a couple of things going, but I understand those will be handled in the future. Some minor things though:

- Still can't do a get-up attack with the B button
- Still can't attack with the Z button in the air
- Landing Detection
- Too many characters still not Auto-sweetspotting their recoveries. It existed in Melee...

Getting used to the landing detection is fine with a lot of the characters, but it's really screwing up my Fox, what with tighter window for SHDL and Dair being difficult to L-cancel (minor issues though). Also, and this is a major thing, it makes Peach even more broken than she already is in P:M. She already has the retardedly good speed of Brawl+ and the ******** damage of Melee, but to top it all off, the earlier landing detection means that her float cancels are even faster than in Melee, giving her more frame advantage on hit/shield and upping her pressure a ton.

Also, I really enjoy how Lucario is now, but as he is now, I think his roll needs to be buffed (or at least not Samus tier), his kill moves need to be nerfed, his DownB needs to have a greater effect on his moveset, and Nair should be brought back to normal. I don't understand who felt the need to give it such ridiculously bad start-up.

Also, Roy's recovery is p. terrible and Fox's wavedash doesn't go far enough.

wat, yes you can. I could understand tether characters having the problem with doing Z aerials but, other characters you definitely can Z aerial.

When we can fix friction in specific actions is likely when moonwalks and wavedashes will be a lot more fine tuned (as is, we'll likely have to go through Brawl characters friction anyway so when we get to that we may look back at some Melee characters). But for the time being, friction can only be changed as a whole so if you want a fixed wavedash, you may have to wait awhile. We're also kind of busy with cloen engine.

As for Roy Up B, it's a REALLY REALLY old Roy, we're going to be redoing him (once clone engine is done).

And I think it would provide something around 7 or 8 slots unless Dantarion eventually also gets to cloning those infinitely.
But as for confirmed characters, I'm thinking
1. Roy
2. Mewtwo
3. Manchu
4. Manchu (with a mustache)
5. Manchu (with a beard)
6. Manchu (with a mullet)
7. Manchu (because you can't get enough Manchu)

As for seriousness, I think Roy and Mewtwo are both confirmed.

Manchu should be a transform character like Zelda/Sheik. He should be able to transform into Neko.

Neko movesets and features:
-can't moonwalk
-auto cancels
-G&W-like
-xavier rythos
-can't transform back into manchu

moonwalk has nothing to do with friction, else Falcons would suck. and moonwalk distance is based on a value set in the comparison line in the .pac. In short, yes, we can modify individual character moonwalk distance.
- Still can't do a get-up attack with the B button
We can fix this easily. I'll look into it later today.
- Still can't attack with the Z button in the air
This is simply inaccurate. This was fixed in August.
- Landing Detection
Fair enough

This is false. Every character has to be moving downward, however slightly, in order to grab a ledge.

Peach is generally unfinished. She doesn't have Brawl+ speed though; all Melee characters have had their physics (which includes running and walking speed, as well as aerial mobility). Additionally, landing detection also means she has to wait a bit longer before letting go of jump than in Melee else her hitbox won't even come out.
But generally, she isn't finished, and we'll get to her soon enough.
Also, Roy's recovery is p. terrible and Fox's wavedash doesn't go far enough.
Roy isn't in the game yet, so he's pretty unfinished. We haven't matched friction to Melee's yet.
Thats a good way to look at it, Question though, do yall plan on replacing characters or just adding them in?
What would be the point of an engine coded around cloning a character if we were just going to replace them...?

*sigh*... We're not discussing adding YL right now. Yes we've seen that beautiful vertex hack, no we're not discussing the possibility of YL.

FYI, we don't have to replace characters anymore (soon anyway) So bringing up "lulz YL > TL" isn't necessary.

I think he meant simply replacing Toon Link's model with that one as an option. It's not exactly relevant, but I'm curious how feasible that might be anyways.

It kinda is when it's been implied that only one will be included in PM, even when the clone engine is finished. :urg:

That wouldn't change his voice effects though. Imagine YL with TL's voice *shudders*
I'm doing Young Link's Melee voice over T-Link at the moment.

I really support the idea of Replacing Toon Link's model with Pik's Young Link.
Plus it would fit better to P:M

Not sure if you guys seen this but I just recently went back to look through the KC-MM vault and noticed this. http://forums.kc-mm.com/Gallery/BrawlView.php?Number=11936 All credit to Marty Mkfly on KC-MM.

I dunno about you guys but If you could get this working over Toon Link it would be epic because we all know Y.Link > Toon Link (Fact).
+1 for YL. If roy and mewtwo make the cut, I dont see why he wouldnt be in too. Just dont replace TL.
