While both would be ideal, I'm expecting it to be Smash 4 over Melee if Nintendo continues the trend they started recently. But I don't see no reason for Evo to not have both if both games turn out to be extremely popular, but that would probably cause more harm than gain, with all the "whens melee/smash 4" and **** that's gonna happen in chat and on place. Better avoid taking a blow to your well-established reputation if the Smash community will act dumb about stuff like these.

IDK if he is doing the infinite or not I'll ask him but he knows about it. He bopps my Roy and I've been using Zelda and have slight better success.

BH4 apparently has a bouncer that will deny entry to people that smell like mad a**hole.

I love it.

the game has been out for 20 days. it's not even out yet outside of japan. why do people need to make tier lists SO EARLY

(also lmao @ palutena being worst, aerolink's campfest makes that pretty funny)
Tier list was made by top Japanese players.

that doesn't change much, because a good tier list should take into account every region when, again, only japan has it for about twenty or so days

@ Soft Serve Soft Serve even SSB4's more defensive options still kind of promote things happening? link's bomb options look pretty hardcore-lame, but at least it means he's pressuring at all, whereas brawl kind of put you at a disadvantage for doing anything

Tiers are full of it, and so are most of the people that seriously associate with them.
Just friggin' play, you scrubs.

I like the item stuff, I don't mind camping
I really hate that the game looks unfinished, you can cancel hitstun with item tosses, Olimar can get his whole line frozen in t-poses for just dsmashing when he has one stuck on the opponent, Yoshi/Greninja can glitch themselves off to the blastzones by just doing moves in normal sitautions, Wario has crazy drift in tumble, I just dont get it. These are things that look like no one even did testing on the 3DS version for them to go through to the release.

That's pretty discouraging. I wonder if they'll be willing to patch **** like that.

I'm honestly not surprised by the glitches and nonsense discovered in smash 4. Kinda makes sense with the trend of games these days. It looks visually pleasing, but when it games to actual gameplay or story, it falls flat on it's ass >_>

edit - Of course story doesn't apply to smash cause it doesn't need one lol

It's hightime dev's of fighting games learn they need to regularly patch their games of newly discovered glitches and imbalances in frequent regularity just like with modern massive multiplayer games and rts's, etc. It shocks me that this isn't commonplace yet.

I actually enjoyed the somewhat simple and inane story of "Subspace Emissary" just cuz it was cool to see all the characters united against a single foe. And that bitchin airfight scene, holy ****. I wish kinda S4 had a campaign like that.

Something neat I found is that you can grab while in Mega Man's leaf shield. That'll be a pretty good approach if someone is a bit too projectile happy.

I agree completely, they really need to get their shiz together.

Yeah, Subspace had a bit of charm to it, idk why but it did, least to me. I'm just saying that it isn't a necessity for smash 4 to have a story.

every smash game is glitchy

thankfully we live in a age of patches

zss infinite is already patched
That's reassuring, I guess...I just wish they didn't have as many the further they go in the sequel count.

unintentional exploits aren't a bad thing, they're a wild card

like half of what makes melee so damned neat to the average viewer is what one calls exploiting, and it's a beautiful thing

and, er, half of what makes brawl so... controversial, are these same exploits coming from the same concepts

The most perfect recipes for a competitive video game came from programming mistakes / exploits. Simple ones.

Halo: CE's incredibly over-ranged and overly-accurate pistol became the foundation of its perfect balance and Bungie had no idea that would happen, and in fact they were upset by it ultimately; this formula for a perfect shooter e-sport they refused to nurture in future games.

Equivalently, Smash's one-button attack-recovery cancellation sped the game up ten-fold as an intense e-sport. The developers surely never intended it (neither Zing or Ling from their respective titles) and also clearly don't support it or they would intentionally replicate it in the other installations of the franchise.

When you accidentally create a gem, it needs to be recreated. It's a shame when developers don't own up to the golden goose eggs they accidentally lay, just out of pride.

Lol playable Tabuu. Dude I played Giga Bowser on Boss Battles Intense mode earlier today. Very fun except for the fact that since Giga Bowser is too big he can't grab a heart container at the rest area without activating the transporter into the next fight :(

Also what's people's custom music on the training stage? I have this on my training stage for PM.

ok so i watched the video soft serve linked and i don't think all of these are bad.

... except for the olimar one i guess

yoshi and greninja teleporting away is bad too

but like

i am completely fine with peach/TL and link being able to do that sort of stuff, it's not like they were overwhelmingly strong characters before

things like rush hitstun cancelling don't worry me either because its basically megaman saying "PLEASE UPSMASH ME"

Edit: also some of these things were from brawl. slow run and bowser jump from claw. Pretty sure you can do it in PM too!

Z and L cancelling were 100% intended

There's going to be a movie.... based on Tetris.
Sci-Fi too.
Seriously.

I don't see how they can make that into a movie that both is faithful to the source material and gets good reception.

Which got me thinking, if you were put in charge of the screeenplay/writing/screenwriting of the movie, what would you make it about and what tone? Would you make it serious? Would you make it self aware? Would you make it ridiculous?

The original Japanese Smash 64 website detailed Z-Cancelling somewhere on it

I remember this because it was important information

tbh I would genuinely enjoy a movie based around tetris' beginning in russia

there was a BBC documentary I watched of it a while back, nintendo basically got control of its IP both out of luck and being the only person to actually be kind to the original creator, and at one point the dude running the IP building was threatened with a possible death sentence for letting them have it

Even though I submit you know more than me but I 100% don't believe you.

I remember intimately all the content of the guide booklets, tutorial demos, etc. Z-cancelling was not in there.

As stubborn as I'm being about this I will still eat my words if someone shows me proof against my claims.
