I'm pretty sure because they are Sith after all... some sith lords AND apprentices kept secret apprentices for themselves. It was also not known if there were other sith in seclusion aside from the current 2. I don't get the star wars universe but I have heard those things said.

Wasn't Greivous an apprentice to Dooku, who was an apprentice to Darth Sidious?

Grievous was trained by Dooku in lightsaber combat, but not in the ways of the force. Dooku was an apprentice to Darth Sidious after Darth Maul's death.

I love role playing Star Wars.

Not the kinky kind, but the Pen & Paper kind.

Although the kinky kind wouldn't be bad either.

Anyways, part of the reason Grievous wasn't trained in the force is that cybernetics hinder one's ability to use the force. The rule of two is also a commonly broken rule. Palpatine sort of subverts it with loopholes by training the Emperor's Hands, who are force adepts (So they aren't technically apprentices). Interestingly, Mara Jade, one of his hands sent to kill Luke, becomes Luke's wife. Vader also subverts the rule of two by training Starkiller in an effort to kill Palpatine. Vader was unable to do so himself due to being weakened by the cybernetic implants (Also, Palpatine was a d-bag and purposefully made Vader's implants painful as a way to further control Vader). Palpatine is known for thinking of everything in order to prolong his life and keep his power. Heck, he ends up coming back (In a way), after he gets killed in Return of the Jedi.

Nothing of value would be lost.
Hey man do not diss the Samus. You've activated my rant card.
[collapse="Why br8k plays Samus, the mystery unveiled"]The only reason reason I still prefer Melee to PM is Samus. The months/years of playing Brawl by myself against CPUs have given me some really crappy habits and a general overconfidence and crippling lack of actual focus now that I'm actually getting serious about competitive Smash and learning Melee/PM. My main problem is that I automatically play every character like I'm Marth and I'm fighting a level 9 CPU (aggressively spam SHFFLs, interspersed with grabs). And I zone out. Samus basically can not be played at all like Marth (high short hop, slow grab), so I'm only really starting to understand competitive Smash BECAUSE Samus forces me to pay closer attention to what I'm doing. I'm learning actual strategies instead of just spamming SHFFLs and grabs. Once I have a better grasp of this stuff, I'll probably expand into other characters or grow a pocket fox or something.

So Samus hate is frustrating to me. A good Samus calmly resists, avoids, or presses on through all the furious flurry of attacks from an opponent and strikes back with a few well placed attacks to kill. I got a friend (the friend is QWA; he's cool) who insists on calling Samus "Spamus," probably as a totally empty joke, but anyway if you consider this vid here it's pretty obvious that Samus is the furthest thing from a spammy character.

I hope PM Samus's d-air spikes, and full charge shot doesn't get outprioritized by needles.[/collapse]

Made the mistake of dipping into the Smash 4 forums. There's a reason I minimize those boards...

Also, **** you PMBR, you made too many fun characters and I can't settle on a few and it's hurting my overall skill and... **** you.

wow all i was trying to say is that i only work with 1 person at a time lmao

generally i'm best at coaching when i can take a tier 3 player into the tier 1-2 range, depending where they want to go based on their motivation. i'm not a particularly motivated smasher either lol

That seems to be the most common 'tier' type of analogy regarding this style of coaching, for sure.

I love every post in this thread about having too many awesome characters...
