FFS what convinced every single person on Brawl Vault to contribute LIKE FIFTY DIFFERENT HYRULE WARRIORS LINK MODS. It's like Shadow all over again with all the TRUE and REAL and V5.0 FINAL version garbage. It's so stupid.
Every time a veteran is announced for Smash 4 there are like 5 over saturated "Smash 4" versions with weird rim lighting that look the same.

Also Beyond was working on a way better version of Hyrule warriors Link than any of the ones on the vault before it was like this, so I'm excited for his tho.

its finally here.

it kinda pissed me off how he portrayed anyone arguing with him at the beginning as a fat asshole that does nothing but scream then asks them to hear him out on his opinions. but amazing video nonetheless

He was saying that about the people writing arguments before he even posted the video. (which there were.)
It still is an Egoraptor video, so he might have been slightly exaggerating. Maybe.

Worst sequelitis so far, so many contradictions and nitpicks against things that could be considered improvements.
And it's like he doesn't realize how ****ing similar ALTTP and OOT are.

This video could be summarized as: "I like ALTTP because it is simpler, and I played it before OOT."

While it was a joke, I think Arin's portrayal of those who disagreed wasn't the best way to start the video out. With it he may have been referring to those who simply ignore what he has to say and immediately defend OoT, but that should have been more clear. It goes without saying that there are many reasons to like or love a game. I myself didn't grow up playing Ocarina or Majora's Mask at all, but rather the GBA and DS Zelda. As of now, I love Ocarina of Time, and as such it would only be natural that I disagree with Arin at several points at the video. Though, for the most part, I felt he articulated his opinion well and in his signature comedic style.

It's been said many times before, but I forget Arin is so talented until he releases a new video, because I feel Game Grumps has just been one big flat note. It's nice to see him back in motion with a very in-depth Sequelitis.

FOUR DIMENSIONS

ALL THE EDGES ARE A CONSTANT LENGTH
FOUR EDGES CONVERGE AT EACH VERTICY
ITS TOO STRONG YOU WILL NEVER FULLY APPRECIATE IT
ITS SPINNING ON TWO AXIS AT ONCE
Fun fact: this is not a 4-d object. What you see is actually the 3-dimensional shadow of a wireframe figure of the actual 4-d object. THAT is why the sides/edges appear to stretch and change in size-it's not the real thing, it's just the shadow as distorted by the angle of the light, much like how your shadow is super long at sunset and super small near noon. And then of course your computer screen displays only one 2-d viewpoint of it at a time. What you see is essentially a shadow of a shadow of the actual thing made to look like a full-fledged shadow of the actual thing by moving and changing shape.

Fun fact 2: 4-dimensional simulated Rubik's Cubes are a thing.

I've never played a Dynasty Warriors game, but Hyrule Warriors is looking pretty sick.... are Dynasty Warrior games good? I was hoping it would play more like a Ninja Gaiden game since Team Ninja is on board

This waiting issue Arin pointed out is exacerbated in Wind Waker(ESPECIALLY in the Gamecube version) thanks to the Sailing mechanics and the sheer size of the Great Sea.

I DO want to point out that a good chunk of your issues with the Story Elements in OOT are present in Alttp as well, but the story in Alttp is much simpler and shorter meaning the impact on your motive and such is significantly lessened though..... hmm.
Alttp and OOT aren't so different at all in some areas.

Yea I know I've been obsessed with 4 dimensional shapes and projections since I was in the 5th grade its just a strange hobby of mine. I'm also that one person who has a 13 stage particle accelerator made of the electron guns from old CRT tvs in his basement :)

Ocarina of Time is essentially a 3D remake of A Link to the Past at heart, so trying to separate them into a debate over pacing like he does is pretty stupid.

Why not debate two 3D games or two top down side scroller games where comparisons are better juxtaposed?

It's stupid to compare them with each other

Pick one.

i have two choices

re-read homestuck

or

marathon baccano,knk,jojo, and nge

help
One read through homestuck is enough, tbh. Also, you could marathon all of those shows and in the time it takes to make it through like half of Homestuck. Homestuck's good, but geez don't be one of those people that only knows it. Watch or read something else. For an alternate webcomic, why not try Gunnerkrigg Court?

You can compare them on a narrative level, but not a gameplay level because they are necessarily different types of games from two different generations, where the gap between 2d and 3d is huge.

Arin's point is basically "3D is slower paced" ah duh it is.

Not at all actually. On top of being very different, there are many differences between the transfer from 2D to 3D where these little changes make a big impact on gameplay.

Ocarina 3D also fixes the sluggish frame rate and water temple issues some people used to have, so it's even faster paced now then ever before.

The original release suffered from obvious technical limitations.

Yeah, I basically just said that Kay. 2D and 3D are too different.
You ninja'd me, I couldn't help it.

Still, saying that 3D is slower paced than 2D and is thus why 2D is vastly more enjoyable is still an opinion that he can make. I don't see how him pointing that out is a flaw in his argument.

His argument may as well be 2D vs 3D, he just chose the two games that are generally called the best from each category.

My desk job is killing me. What are we talking about?
if you don't like your job look for one that you will like don't quit or anything but just fish around for something that you can do that you find interesting schedule some interviews and one you've got something locked down quit and do that. I used to work at a warehouse I hated it so I started looking something more interesting and I found a bike workshop that had some openings and got a job there and its super fun

Both styles have their pros and cons.

I think the boss battles are much more epic and exciting in 3D then in 2D for instance. Finding their weak point and following their patterns is also more interesting.

The 3rd dimension adds a lot to puzzle designs as well.

So a more fair analysis would give both sides of the 2d vs. 3d debate instead of pretending pros and cons don't exist for both.

to be fair arin was right about one thing. the bosses in 3d zelda games are really repetitive. find a weakpoint (eye, tongue, butt) and then stab at it with the item you got from the dungueon, walk up and stab. repeat.

I see your point, but this boss was badass.
