Pikachu doesn't do fundamentals very well, considering how many other characters "do fundamentals well" and do them much better. His nair is positive on block when done perfectly, but he doesn't have the kind of strong dash dance, spacing options, control, or momentum gains characters like MK or Sheik- that is, characters with very strong fundimental strengths- have.

True, very true. It has pretty poor range and can't just tilt you for 40% like other characters can. If anything, that should make it more interesting, contrary to what other people were saying. You see weirder stuff with this kind of character.

This game is so much fun: characters I didn't find interesting in Melee/Brawl are now so much fun to play as.

Samus' crawl->WD->crawl->boost ball->Nair<3

This is why I don't think Pikachu is very good in PM.
He doesn't really have much beyond fundamentals, but he doesn't even do them that well when compared to other characters.
He can punish mistakes well, but that's nothing special. He can gimp linear recoveries well, and again that's something basically anybody can do. He's got some good mobility, but that's not special either. I just feel like you're opponent has to be making a lot of mistakes and giving Pikachu openings for Pikachu to do well.
I don't think flashiness makes a character for me.

Just how fun they are to play.
This is true. When I say Pikachu is boring I only speak from a viewer standpoint. Granted, I don't like playing him either, but that's different then not liking to watch a character. I think Sheik is boring to watch, but for me she's an absolute blast to play.

I would argue that a character's flashiness contributes to how fun they are to play, but then again, Nazo's Sonic is so entertaining to watch, but playing Sonic is a whole different story. I guess in Pikachu's case, he's neither fun to watch and or to play as, IMO.

I get what you are saying.

It's kind of why I liked Pichu better than Pikachu anyway. Everything about Pichu seemed to mesh well together in regards to how he played, whereas Pikachu just didn't feel the same or right. Pichu just happened to be a really bad character when looking at the big picture. That's just me though.

I like Pikachu in M because QAC is a boss and I can kind of sort of play him like pichu better than I could in Melee; but you know, it's still not Pichu.

Actually I don't think that was related to what I quoted at all.

Once again i'm the only person still believing Pikachu is a good character :(

If you people just give him a chance, you will see that he's not bad at all. In terms of flashiness, that's debatable. But he is a pretty solid character, he has everything he needs to do well. What will it take to make you guys believe!

...I like playing Fox and Falco because of their fast-paced nature. Doing the tech skills and finally performing them after hours of practice at a fast paced match gives me an adrenaline rush. Don't take that away from me!

Man, why does it seem like this forum tries to crunch everything into the minimum possible number of threads. Like the ideology is "if you could talk about this in another thread without everyone going bazerk, you have to, or you get locked." Like damn, it's okay to have a thread that's more specific than another thread.

Case in point
Because the PMBR doesn't actually want more characters, but it's IMPOSSIBLE to make people stop talking about it, so they gave them ONE thread to post their dumb ****, and they don't want more.

If they didn't want more characters they wouldn't of made a post saying they could add more characters.

Actually it probably would be more appropriate to say if they didn't want to consider adding more characters they wouldn't of made a post saying they could add more characters.

Yeah, but I need to get my laptop looked at. It has all the required specs (actually, more so than the required), but it lagged like hell when I connected with someone in the midwest (I'm in Jersey). So I think there's a problem with my computer and I'm going to take it to radioshack or something.

Is there a website that, when the product it's selling is out of stock, has the option of e-mailing you when the item is restocked? Apparently amazon has this for certain items, but not the one I'm looking for.

when did they say they could add more characters? You mean the announcement about the clone engine? the announcement that meant "we can add Roy and Mewtwo", and not "we can add Amy Rose, and give Ganondorf a sword, and all the other ridiculous **** they post about in the clone engine thread"?

The Diggersby bit wasn't even Shofu though.
It was Sky, the Smasher/League personality on Shofu's channel.

That's true. However, shofu did call him up and then post it on his channel.
Edit: I don't think shofu is a big PM fan. I've only seen him post a few videos about it, and he doesn't talk about it too much in his vids. Who knows though?
Double edit: I guess some ideas seem worse in hindsight...

Is there a reason Hyrule 64 is small compared to SSB64?

I know Brawl character models are bigger but couldn't they (PMBR) scale the stage too?
I've wondered about this too. If the stage isn't going to be legal, it may as well be big enough to be fun to play on rather than crampt. Attempting to shrink it to a more manageable size just makes the slanted portion, tent area, and platforms restrictive.
