And why should this affect smash 4 in any way?
Considering the circumstances, I think making sure the tourney runs cleanly is more important than Sponsors or making sure the matches are only on a specific stream.
I am deeply disappointed in all parties involved with that decision.

That should be incredibly obvious, another game affected when another could start.

LOL I can appreciate good lame play but the top 8 was over my limit lol. Also I was rooting for the Pac Man player mostly.

People are blaming smash 4 for running late, when the reason its running late in the first place is that Melee got like 2 extra hours of stream time (Ran all of winners round 2 on stream).

People will blame smash 4 for melee running so late, when its because GIMR refused to have amsa/SFAT play on a side-stream because he's sponsoring him, and the TO's refused to have up to top 5 play on a side stream.

People will blame smash 4 for having too much coaching, but coaching has been banned all APEX, and TOs just haven't enforced it.

#OneUnit, unless it makes Melee players ****ing wait an extra 45 min, even if it was our own game's fault.

the average Melee stream viewer doesn't want to actually watch Melee. The don't want to watch smash. They don't want to watch spacing and neutral and mind-games and dont pay attention to option coverage and positioning. They just want to ****ing watch shine spikes and falco pillars and Ken combos and Falcon Knees. They just want to watch Marvel and don't care to pay attention to the actually difficult and impressive parts of the game.

Arguing with ****ing idiots just furthering the echo chambers of blame on smash 4 in my own state's community makes me never want to TO again.

I dont even like smash 4 that much, its stupid. But I don't rag on it for the reasons these idiots do. The speed at which the neutral game doesn't even matter to them when they don't pay attention to it.

I agree, but people are blaming the game when the blame of things going late should all fall onto whoever planned out the matches for streams. It shouldn't affect smash 4 but thats where the blame will fall because us melee players like to circle jerk around and hate on anything thats not melee

Hot damn your spot on. Welcome to the stream monster age man nerds only care about crazy nonsense and long combos. Makes it even more apparent with how people act and don't give people their much needed congrats. And the management with the coaching policy and 3/5 everything is a cluster of a mess sadly.

In all seriousness, I think the highest quality streams I've seen were beast 5 (mainly b/c instant replay achieved) and Super Smash Sundays (b/c amazing players for a weekly and godlike stream layout/efficiency)

That stubborness is part of and will perpetuate the Smash Cycle.

Edit: I bet Smash 5 is radically different from 4. I also bet the other games die with Melee. Maybe each new release will get some hype and Melee will make a small return each time.
