1. SmashBoards has no relationship with what was posted on 4chan. The previous potential leak that this one has been compared to is strictly the knowledge of Neo Zero and any similarities are purely coincidental, or at the most, indirectly related.

2. Keep in mind that there are multiple leakers at work here.

3. Some members of the Staff do have sources that we have been looking into. However, keep in mind that each only has small details, and that for privacy/legal issues, we cannot disclose much, if anything at all.

4. Like the mentioned multiple leakers, each source only has small details so what we know is still questionable. We do not know everything nor can we comment on everything.

5. All we can state at the moment is that the 4chan comment about the DLC fighters is most likely false based upon what is known/has been shared.

Interestingly I found a bit more of that image the Mario picture that's being compared to Dr. mario. And it appears that the other Dr. Mario image is an edit of this one. (Sorry about the cropping, this is how I found it)

If you compare it to the Dr. Mario image Thomas just posted you'll see that the hands are exactly the same.

I've seen that one around somewhere; it certainly looks familiar.

The question is, will he deconfirm it (if fake), troll us by showing something implying it is fake (if partially or completely real), imply it is real by showing something in it (be it fake or real), or completely avoid all content involved in it?

During the last fake leak, the faker deleted stuff and posts on other forums to make it look like Nintendo was in control of it.

I don't think that that is evidence. Leaker could have done that again maybe.

It's hard to say without seeing Bowser Jr in action. I'm assuming the clown car will be most of the hurtbox, and the koopas upper body and head would also be a hurtbox. The scales wouldn't be too far off in that aspect imo. If the characters were out roaming free outside the car, I'd have to agree

Actually the fact that it looks like Bowser Jr is in the Clown Car is very clever and answers the question of hit box problems very nicely, since only the head and shoulders would be part of the model.

Alright, I've got some new evidence.

So if the in-game pics are fakes made from a brawl mod then there is no doubt the mod that would have been used is this one

I happen to be the maker of Shulk's mod moveset, so I've spent a large amount of time staring at this model. As you can see, it's over Ike and the move being used here is Ike's up smash. More specifically, it's Shulk's model ripped from Xenoblade and rigged over Ike's skeleton. Shulk has not been rigged over any other character, and the other models of Shulk look exactly the same (literally) except that they use different forms of the Monado.

You can see there is a spec of light on his right (our left) cheek. This is an issue with the lighting on the model, and depending on the angle you look at it it either looks brighter than the rest of the skin or darker than the rest of the skin.

This is key because if this model were to be shown in an up close shot, it could be easily distinguished by this lighting issue. As it happens, the leaker provided a photo where the face is visible to a degree, although, still low quality. Take a look at the left side of the face and if you can see the lighting issue.

Do you see it? It just happens to be right by the nose on the left side of the face, right by where the mod has its issue.

Although, the pose is something I've never seen before, but it's something I could create using brawl box. Anyone that creates brawl mods could do that by just moving the bones around in brawl box. This isn't absurd either, since the leaker would have had to mod the game to create the other photos. RED TEAM and the background would be done with photoshop, which is not out of the question since the person would need to be good at photoshop to do the leaks posted through 4chan.

Well, enough of that for now. Now, let's look at the Shulk in the game.

The first thing that comes to mind with this is Ike's jab attack. Here's this recreated in the game (I tried to get the angle right but it's not perfect):

They really do look similar. The body is angled in the same way (accounting for how the leaked photo is tilted) and the punch looks the same. There are some differences, however. The right arm is in a different position and in the one photo the Monado is on Shulk's back. However, this change is something even an amateur to photoshop like me could do, especially with the blank, snowy background behind Shulk in the leak photo. The other things I notice are in the leak, the shorts on the right leg look a lot baggier than they do in the brawl mod. The left foot is also in a different angle.

Disclaimer: I'm not claiming that the character (Dunban rigged over Link) is what the leaker used for Lucina. He's just there because I needed a second character to join the game.

The other thing that comes to mind as a potential move being used is Ike's grab. Here is this recreated with the mod:

This image also gives a better view of the snowy background, which has its own differences from the leak. I'm not going to discuss that in detail.

Yeah, it's a little tricky because, assuming some of the new characters we are seeing are secret, he (most likely) won't show them. Because none of the other rumored characters (Ridley, Mewtwo, etc.) are in this roster, they must also be secret and unable to be shown. So we need either a starter newcomer (maybe Shulk?) or a starter vet (I'm banking on Wario or Ness) to confirm this (or a stage). We won't know about any characters that aren't in this roster until after the game is released (or we get another leak) because Sakuari wouldn't show them beforehand. I feel like we know all of this, but it's just fun to think about!

What if he's throwing an item? the dragoon piece is visible, so what if he threw the fire flower. (Or the flame is coming off of Charizards tail.)

That's a good strategy for a leaker haha! I just looked up twitter's rules and it doesn't look like there is any way to suspend your own profile...

"Accounts are generally suspended for violations of the Twitter Rules. We may also suspend accounts for investigation if we suspect an account has been hacked or compromised."

Edit: And if the leak wasn't real, then it wouldn't be a copyright issue and therefore there would be no reason to suspend the account...

This might not be 100% accurate, this is just what I'm thinking!

That came from Neo Zero. I had thought Neo Zero had that because of that link, but I'm not sure now. There's a lot to keep on top of, even for me.

The 3DS image is blurred, though So you can't get the details are hardly noticeable. To me they look extremely similar.

Have you seen the MasterLinkX information? He has put fake Shulk images over the real ones. Have you factored this into your information?
