Today Sakurai revealed a stage called ‘The Summit’, based on the Ice Climbers game and this time, it doesn’t appear to suck. I mean, look at it, it has veggies on it! Yum!
<p align="center"><img src="/blog/wp-content/uploads/2007/10/stage16_071031a-l.jpg" alt="The Summit" align="middle" border="0" height="315" width="400" /><!--more--></p>
Pictures were circulating on the internet from various videos (coincedentally at the Media ‘Summit’) which showed an aurora in the background. The speculation was going around that this new stage was indeed a new Ice Climbers stage. Apparently this was accurate in a way. I mean, how many stages could really have auroras in it? Anyways, let’s get down to business about this stage.
<p align="center"> The stage starts to come apart as if this mountain had been hit by Metal Gear Ray.</p>
<p align="center"><img src="/blog/wp-content/uploads/2007/10/stage16_071031b-l.jpg" alt="Snap, Crackle, Pop!" align="middle" border="0" height="315" width="400" /></p>
<p align="center"> The stage begins to ebb and flow losing its balance. This will no doubt lead to a lot of chaos on the stage.</p>
<p align="center"> <img src="/blog/wp-content/uploads/2007/10/stage16_071031c-l.jpg" alt="Sliding, weee!" align="middle" border="0" height="315" width="400" /></p>
<p align="center">It finally loses its balance and veers off to the left putting everyone in a very awkward position.</p>
<p align="center"><img src="/blog/wp-content/uploads/2007/10/stage16_071031d-l.jpg" alt="Water, yay!" align="middle" border="0" height="315" width="400" /></p>
<p align="center">It finally hits the sea where the majority of the floor is engulfed in water.</p>
<p align="center"><img src="/blog/wp-content/uploads/2007/10/stage16_071031e-l.jpg" alt="Deeper and deeper..." align="middle" border="0" height="315" width="400" /></p>
The only downside to this finally hitting water is that the bear on the stage is causing the stage to sink, which brings up an entirely different question, how far will the stage sink? Will this stage somehow reset like in Castle Siege?

<p align="center">Sakurai made this note about the fish seen in this picture:</p>
<blockquote>
<p align="center">A fish leaps out of the water!</p>
I feel like I’ve seen that fish before somewhere… Where could it have been?</blockquote>
Thanks to PsychoIncarnate for the information on this, so here it is:

<blockquote>
<p align="center">An excerpt from Wikipedia:</p>
In <em>Balloon Fight</em>, the player controls a Balloon Fighter who flies around with two balloons on his back. The object of the game is to defeat all of the enemy ducks in each level by popping the balloon on their backs. When the balloon is popped, the duck will float down on a parachute, and either land on the ground and survive, or fall in the water and drown, <em><strong>although sometimes a big fish will come out and eat it before it can touch the water, but it can also eat the player if they are too close</strong></em>. If a duck lands, the player must harm it before it can blow up another balloon or it will change to a different color and be worth more points when killed.</blockquote>
