I'm going to get prismacolors
It's not like I'm made from money. And it would suck if I was because I'd end up spending myself immediately.
I'm waiting for this person to get off the damn scanner computer rawr

EDIT: Straight A's is easy mode
If you pay attention in class and stop going to smashboards and do your homework you don't even have to study to ace tests.

EDIT 2: Okay now there's a lineup of like 10 people waiting for this one person to get the hell off
wtf is this

I don't understand how it's so easy for Americans to get straight A's, saying "I was a straight A student." Something must be going wrong. We grade on a scale of 1 to 10 and our average is a 6.0 when you get in the higher classes.
I miss back when I was 14 and didn't even have study to get 10's for everything.

I live in Canada lol
And I have a generous IQ

Grades aren't an accurate representation of intelligence anyways, they're more of a basis of how well you can pay attention and retain information. There is no original information being discovered in school, it's all parroting.
I've known idiots with a 4.0 GPA

@Dourin: What country do you live in?
Belgium, but I have no clue about the American school system. As far as I'm hearing everyone and their mother is getting a GPA of 4.0 over there.

As for school being parrotting, that's really not the case. Much of it is retain information and KNOW how to use it, and apply it to different situations and things. You can't just memorize things, you got be able to understand and apply them.

Unless you have classes like history >_<. (gosh I always hated that class)

Which they tell you how to do.
From there it just becomes recognizing patterns.
Which honestly isn't hard if you were paying attention.

And I agree, history sucks. First thing I purged all memory of as soon as I left high school

Also, kids in the US have roughly a 70% average, which is a C in most cases.
When I was spending time there I also noticed how easy it was to get good grades. That year I don't think I got lower than 95% in any class, but then again, they didn't let me take honors because they were pricks

Wish it worked liked that, it's not like I breezed through school. Luckily, I've heard of people who were off way worse than me. I spent about 30 minutes a day on homework and 30 minutes learning for test. Then I heard stories of people spending 2 hours on learning for it and still failing it. I'm definitely not dumb in that way, I'd say :p.

Also, I couldn't focus much in class, way too busy doing dumb things with my friends while teacher was talking. Except for this Iraqi chemisty teacher... She was like a jailer in keeping us quiet and putting us in seperation :urg:.

It's really easy to get A's in classes if you do all your homework well and you're somewhat intelligent. That's for honors, it's even easier in regular classes. Also many honors classes have .5 (or more) weight, which means if you actually get a 3.5 grade your GPA is a 4.

My grades in classes are very teacher dependent, the less homework there is the better grades I get most of the time. I'm not a very good student :/

Kinda wish I had more than gray tones but I probably wouldn't know what to do with them lol

Don't worry, you don't have to do it asap lol I was just wondering.
I might color a copy of my own when I'm not doing other stuff.

btw, I finished that portrait I was talking about earlier. I'll be selling copies to a bunch of people at school who were asking for one lol
I'll post it later today when I can find an open scanner.

Should I post a separate thread for my stuff, or should I just post it here. Everyone's already seen the other stuff I have on my photobucket anyways.

I tried to Google this and the only result I got was this thread.

You can make a new thread if you want to like show off a bunch of stuff blowtoooes. It's just better not to make new ones every time you have only an image or 2 to show. In here is always fine as well though.

I figure I'll make a compilation thread and bump it whenever I add something new.
Everytime I post something here it ends up being the last post on the page lol

I'm also debating whether or not to make knhlkn'salknlkn my title.

The problem with our school system is that it's not standardized for the most part. Someone in a high school in a poorly funded district could make straight A's and not graduate learning as much as someone who lived in a better district who made B's and C's.

That's where national exams like the SAT come in, but that's been criticized for various reasons.

As far as I know, the only standardized classes we have are AP? Even "honors" varies from district to district. If you get a 5 (best score) on the AP Euro History exam, you know you learned about as much as every other student who got a 5 on the exam that year.

AP and IB. There might be some other ones but if there are they aren't widely used.

And even within school districts there's a lot of differences in education. The number one ranked public high school in America is in my county (you have to apply to get in) and the work is extremely hard.

I agree about the variations within districts. The gap between my old high school and the worst schools in the district was huge.

Yeah I can vouch for that. Nevada had one of the worst education standards in the us when I was living there. I could have attended half my classes and still have passed with b's

It's a problem everyone knows we need to fix, but there's not enough money to fix it. I went to one of two college prep high schools in the district. It would have been nice if they were all that way, but there just wasn't enough money to have IB and AP programs at every school.

I haven't colored with markers in a long time. I kind of miss it.

AP = Advanced Placement. The College Board has approved some college-level classes to be taught in high school. Not every high school offers them and not every high school offers the same classes. If you take the class and pass the exam, you can get credit for that class in university.

For example, say you take AP Statistics. At the end of the school year, everyone in the country who took AP Statistics takes the same exam. You get scored 1-5. 3 or higher is passing for most exams, but some universities only accept 4s and 5s for certain exams. If you pass, you'll usually get credit for the equivalent of that class when you start university. So when you start university, you probably won't have to take their Statistics 1 course because you already "passed" it.

IB = International Baccalaureate. It's an international educational standard that's pretty intense. It's kind of hard to explain, so here's the Web site:

The first one is good, imo it would look better if your horizon line was a bit higher. I think the open sky would give it more of an 'outdoorsy' feel, if that makes sense. The road strangles the composition a bit.
The second one would be really nice, but the lighting is too inconsistent. The blue tint near the foreground seems out of place.
I'd really like the 3rd one if the snow in the foreground wasn't so distracting.
Nice work overall :]
