Anyone else entering in Old Man Grey's A.K.A Prometheus' Avi Contest? I am but I have near zero art talent. I read a story about a monster (Read Here) and so I doodle how I believed it would seem. It will be my entry for the contest.

Dumb scanner of mine removed my artist signature and some of his eyeball and part of his skull. Hence the artist sig in the second but not the first. As you can tell, I fail at symmetry, among other things. I hope to have this colored in photoshop, have some other things cleaned up and just be better in general. If anyone has some tips then just tell me. That and if anyone else is entering the contest.

Guidelines help so so much to get good symmetry. You dont have to go so far as to measure distances from point to point of course, you only need a few rough lines for points of reference. I usually start with a center line only and draw perpendicular lines when I need them.
The foreshortening on the mouth is actually pretty well done.
It looks to me a bit like gossamer from looney tunes on crack looooool

There's a thing going on at iscribble called Pokemon Draw-Off, basically you and someone else are assigned a Pokemon and a time limit, and at the end of the time limit the other people vote which one is better. Winner stays and some of the artists are very good. I learned some things from it.

Or you could wait a bit and i'll do all the linework digitally, but I have no idea how long that would take. Like from a few days to a month sort of thing. Your choice.
