Nice stencil :p, did you do it?
Yep. Our university's Architecture/Fine Arts schools got some laser cutters in recently. You can import Illustrator files into the computer, and the laser will follow and cut out the Pen Tool lines precisely out of pretty much any material you want. It's insanely precise and perfect for stencils.

Well I was hoping for the super smash bros brawl logo and maybe put falco in. I just need a photo that will look good on a 16"x20" poster. Basicly Im just going to take the photo and get poster prints from a website.

wow thanks it's the first one I have ever made. Me and my friend(Ham) play Mario kart and brawl together all the time so I thought I would put the nickname/main in my sig.

I'm sorry if this is a stupid question and/or this is the wrong place to ask, but...
Is there a certain name for pictures like these?

I'm trying to make textures and I need pictures like these as a reference.

Oh wow, I feel like an idiot now. I only thought concept art was just like... an official picture of them in a pose, so I didn't bother to check. Thank you!

I believe reference lies more in individual "pieces" rather than just a whole. A whole is included though.

K. I been meaning to post a question here. What's the recommended brush settings for someone with a Tablet in Photoshop? Something to give those awesome thin, clean, crisp lines you could see in even cartoons?

You people and your tablets. Get @ my 3-button mouse.

I dunno if Brush settings work differently with tablets but I normally use like a 3 to 5 point circle brush and adjust the Shape Dynamics for thin cartoon lines. Then again it also depends on how big the image is, I guess.

I'll bet Lokii knows.

I probably need to change that logo. It's so dated now.

I use SAI because of the whole i-want-clean-lines issues...so yeahhhh xD;
Manga Studio has those nice lines too. Really sharp.

When I do use photoshop...i use a 2-3 point setting. Sometimes 4.

In Photoshop you can use the pen tool to get some nice line work. It makes it a lot easier to block in colors since you can fill in the shapes you used for inking. There are plenty of tutorials on deviant art if you search for pen tool inking. I can't ink by hand very well (I mainly sketch and color by hand) so I stick to the pen tool in either PS or SAI though I prefer the control SAI gives. Oh, and openCanvas is really nice for sketches simply because it records as you draw (doesn't matter what version, the free 1.1 and pay 4.5e can both do it) so you can see what you had trouble/did well on. As for inking in PS I use a size 2-5 hard round brush.

@Zio: I also recommend sai. I cant ps for anything. Like Magnet mentioned the pen tool is great for getting nice lines.

@today: Do you have a cracked sai or are you using a trail version over and over? Either could be causing it to expire repeatedly.

XD; Huh! Thank you!! I'll see what I can do..! I appreciate it!!

Random question:
I don't have a scanner but I use my digital camera and take photos outside as a replacement. Is this okay or not preferred? XP Should I save up for a scanner? I kind of want a tablet first but I'd like to have both~

Getting a scanner might be a good idea...but sometimes digital camera photos can pass for scanned pictures :3 idk. just my random opinion XD

See, I didn't want to have to install a new program when I'm already used to Photoshop.

Oh well. Free download.
