Lol yeah, she got 1st in the original AWYP.I didn't know you were a part of the Orange Council. :0
Lol, really good definition actually.A vector image is a picture made of math.
Oh, thanks Neon. I guess that sounds... useful...?Masks are weird and hard to explain.
So say you have a vector layer in Photoshop that's a triangle. And say that vector layer has a vertical black-to-white Gradient. Now normally if you move that layer, the triangle and its gradient will move together.
On a vector layer like this, you can separate the shape from the mask. When you do that, you can move that black-to-white gradient around without moving the triangle. So if you wanted the darker part to be a little higher or something, you can move the gradient up while keeping the triangle in the same place.
So I guess a mask is like some weird hole in space that's the shape of the vector outline, and you can move designs/fx around inside them independently.
At least, I think that's how it goes.
LOL yeah I didn't provide a very good example, since you can do the same thing with a gradient by just going to Layer Style.Oh, thanks Neon. I guess that sounds... useful...?
lol I have NO idea how to use photoshop. Kinda sad.
Pretty much this. I use Vector Masks a lot in the stuff I make because it just feels cleaner.A vector mask basically lets you confine everything in a layer to a specific shape (it can be literally any shape, as long as it's a pen tool path). You can move or edit anything in the layer, and it will never go outside the boundaries of the shape..
