Paraster
wins by default for the story submission!
Here is how it starts...
The world of this story is in the vein of the Mystery Dungeon games in that Pokemon are capable of communicating with each other with speech the player can understand. (There will not be a "human turned into a Pokemon" protagonist, however.)
Story mode begins with a continuation of the intro, where Urshifu (specifically a Rapid Strike one) describes how the tournament will work--various locations across the Island of the Iron Fist have been marked as "arenas" (the stages). By winning matches with other competitors at these arenas, one wins "Spirit Medals." When a competitor earns enough Spirit Medals, they are entitled to challenge Urshifu itself at the Temple of the Iron Fist. The competitors set off across the island, either booking it to the arenas, attempting to gain intel on their opponents, or find ways to make themselves stronger. There are many interactions that show off the Pokemon's personalities.
Support Pokemon actually have a minor role in the story--the competitors are encouraged to make allies to aid in their battles, and most of the competitors get at least one ally within. The player can also take on optional challenges to unlock additional Support Pokemon. To prevent players from feeling restricted, all competitors can use every unlocked Support Pokemon regardless of story.
Over the course of the tournament, some of the less scrupulous competitors are approached by a Sableye who claims that Urshifu is hiding a powerful secret within the temple, and forms an alliance to take down Urshifu outside the tournament's rules and steal the secret power. In particular, Mewtwo is offered a chance to join this faction, but it claims it does not need the power. It is also implied that Sableye is working on behalf of someone else.
Contrasting the Sableye is an eccentric Mr. Mime that acts in a "trickster mentor" sort of way to the "good guy" Pokemon. Suspicion is cast on Mr. Mime when Mewtwo--who was not invited by Urshifu but heard of the tournament and joined away--reveals that Mr. Mime is also an illegal entry. It is eventually revealed, however, that Mr. Mime actually knows of the temple's secret and wants to keep Sableye's gang from stealing it.
Things come to a head when Pikachu wins a battle against Garchomp, who had been its biggest rival up to that point, and earns the last Spirit Medal needed to challenge Urshifu. However, Garchomp reveals that Sableye's gang is already en route to the temple to ambush Urshifu, prompting the good guys to make chase. After several battles, Urshifu ends up defeated and Sableye's boss shows up--a Single Strike Urshifu, the rival of the tournament host. It's revealed that the temple's secret is a treasure known as Victini's Jewel, an artifact said to fill the holder with unlimited power. Single Urshifu takes the Jewel and enters a powered-up state--it does not enter a full-on new form, but it has increased power and fire effects are added to its moves. Powered-up Single Urshifu is the final boss. The player is given a choice of which competitor will fight Single Urshifu, and upon victory, Rapid Urshifu names that competitor the winner of the tournament.
There may be a bonus battle/ending for 100% completion (optional Support Pokemon, potentially other bonus content), but I will wait until the roster is more complete to decide. (Most likely, the bonus boss would be a Jewel-powered Rapid Urshifu.)
Factions (subject to change, except for underlined ones)

With this in mind, when we submit a character after this, we will decide what side they will join. The Good Guys, Sableye Gang, or Neutral
We will commence to adding Assist Pokemon and this time we are adding two!
Job #23: Submit a Gen II and/or Gen III Assist
We don't have any of these at all yet so we will be adding both a Gen II and Gen III. If you only wish to submit one, that is fine. As per usual, please submit the Pokemon name, a picture, its typing, its generation and game, and the attack it does plus a description. It can be an attack or a support ability for the player it is attached to.
