Alrighty, we're closing submissions. Serpidify and Napaphony win by default in their categories, but please vote for Antyke's evolution.

Next Job: Design Route 2
We all know and love Route 2, the route just out of the first city. Now that we've made a city, it's time to make the way out of there. Submissions will be due in a few day's time. Only requirements are that you stay consistent with the previous theme, though to be honest that just means don't immediately skip to snow or a desert just yet.

Route 2: The first town that players set off on during their first pokémon journey is nestled on an overhanging cliff plateau with stunning views of the sapphire-like ocean below. As a symbolic meaning to start ones journey, the first route will dive down to the beaches below. This route is a slope with a mixture of grasses, rock, and dirt that snakes it’s way down while hugging the cliff face. As the route gets closer to the beachfront, the Rocky and slightly grassy terrain gives way to beach grasses and hill-line dunes before spilling out into Amolofos Beach. This is a stunning beach full of dunes, beach grass, and palm trees that end into the sapphire surf. There exists a boardwalk to navigate these dunes and grasses with are apart of route 2 but empties into the beach. Low level Pokémon can be found here and, during the first trip, players won’t encounter other trainers but a return trip will see an influx of new trainers. If my concept gets selected, I would love to see what kind of Pokémon we could populate it.

Our next job is to design a class for generic trainers. You may pick the class for yourself, whether it be a preexisting class (Youngster, Ace Trainer, Backpacker, etc.) or a new concept.

Philosopher

The Philosopher is a deep thinker who considers the meaning of life within the Pokemon world and Pokemon and human interactions. The Philosopher is keen on debating the human existence and the impact of Pokemon on humanity. Typically, Philosophers utilize Psychic, Fairy, and Normal-types but, on occassion, Dark-types to reflect the dark nature of humanity. They can be spotted by sporting a shaggy white hair and beard along with a more modernized toga robe. They typically carry a dusty book full of their musings and theories. How they speak can be perplexing due to their academic backgrounds and may cite excerpts from historically relevant books.

To be clear, part of the intent for this job is to also conceptualize what trainers of a certain class will look like. Could you add a description (however brief) for the Tourist's attire?
Male tourists wear straw hats, Hawaiian shirts, shorts, and loafers. Female tourists wear a sun hat, a flowery dress, and sandals. Both wear sunglasses.

Trainer Class Submission

Veteran

Our interpretation of the Veteran preserves the class's general design of being middle-aged individuals with a determined demeanor. The female version wears a dark blue longcoat that has a few small tears and scorch marks, as well as a pair of rectangular glasses. The male version wears a dark red jacket (also with tears and scorch marks) over a gray shirt and dark beige pants, as well as a black bowler hat.

Okay, here's a bit of an odd concept, the Librarian.

The Librarian archetype is interesting in that they tend to use Pokemon that have a connection to the past or ancient ruins (Pokemon like Golurk, for instance.) Furthermore, they have a tendency to use a lot more status effect moves as opposed to going for direct damage, implying a more intelligent but less directly offensive playstyle.

In terms of appearance, I imagine them having a sort of "light academia" look - light but smart clothes, such as cardigans, shirts, ties, and some nice round glasses. They tend to carry around books with them, which they take a look at when battling (implying that they're taking hints from said book during battle.)

Shrine Patrons
These characters wear traditional Greek togas, they are a rare class found mainly in shrines, they often wear bands representing the colors of the legendary of the region, they use Pokemon that have an Anchient past in this region, they are said to dutifully protect shrines and battles trainers as a sort of trial to gain approvals of these shrines

Vote your favorite of these five.

I vote Librarian.

Trainer Class Results
Tourist: 0
Philosopher: 2
Veteran: 0
Librarian: 2
Shrine Patron: 1

Philosopher and Librarian are tied for first place. Since we'll be adding multiple trainer classes as we go anyway, both of them will be added.

For our next two jobs, we will be designing a new town and submitting a returning Pokemon.

The new town acts as a transition between the beach of Route 2 and a forest area on the other side, so feel free to incorporate this into the design.

There are no specific conditions for the returning Pokemon this time around.

I submit as a returning Pokemon the Budew line (Budew, Roselia, and Roserade). I'm a fan of this line, and they'd be useful to fill Grass- or Poison-related niches (I swear this wasn't directly inspired by the forest area coming up).

Erinni Town
This peaceful town situated along the coast is tucked amongst sun-dyed cliffs. This town is famous for its hot springs, so much so that tourists from Kalos and Galar will come here just to experience them! Being so close to the ocean and this towns affinity for water, Wingull and Pelipper can be found here. Especially Wingull. They are a nuisance but people have learned to use them to find schools of fish.

I'm assuming Wingull/Pelipper is the Pokemon submission?

While this may or may not affect voting, an idea I had for an Iroan Wingull and Pelipper is Flying/Dark turning them more so into a Frigate Bird type appearance. In this form, instead of looking for small fish pokemon to feed on, they are opportunistic predators and will steal catches from both fisherman and normal Wingull and Pelliper alike. They evolved this way due to an overabundance of Wingull and Pelliper in the area so a few who couldn't compete evolved to become larger and more fierce.

It's signature ability is Opportunistic where it can steal any item used for the first time in the match by the player. It also has a signature attacked called Spit Up where a strike that lands a critical hit on the opponent causes any held berry or food to be "spat up" which results in the Wingfull/Pelliper eating it and gaining its affects.

We do have a regional form job up next, as it happens. We'll keep your concept logged for when submissions for it open.

As I'm also here, I will also mention Spit Up is a prexisting Pokemon move, with a different effect, but the same name
