Flash works the same way as it did in its debut, lighting up dark areas, however Flash can also reveal items not normally seen by the naked eye such as footprints, markings, and hidden passcodes, Flash can also blind certain trainers as long as they dont wear eye protection letting you walk pass them without battling them

HM submissions should close tomorrow.

Remember that you can provide as many "alternate moves" to share HM effects as you wish. You can even create new moves if you want!

Fly
Fly has always been an interesting and useful HM in past games and I think this should be expanded in a way that it was in ORAS where you are given freedom to soar about in the sky. Doing this will jettison you into the air where you can fly high above the clouds. Clouds would be sort of like grass which has a higher concentration of Pokemon. Darker clouds has more of them but you can also find them in rain and snow clouds as well as rainbows. In addition to this, air current could exist which can push forward players for fastest travel. Updrafts and downdrafts could also help raise elevation but also prove a hindrance. As a fun thing, items could be tied to floating balloons lol. In battle, it acts the same. I don’t have time to write what moves could be affected but Aerial Ace and Acrobatics could be some concepts.

HM submissions are closed. Here's what we have:
  • "Slashing": Cut down small trees, clear away grass, turn small trees into bridges, harvest berries, get minerals from boulders.
  • "Water traversal": Move across water, climb waterfalls, dive underwater (with an item)
  • "Strong force": Push large objects, get random encounters from specific trees. (Decided that Rock Smash was different enough to be separated.)
  • "Illumination": Light up dark areas, reveal hidden clues, temporarily blind trainers.
  • "Demolition": Destroy breakable objects.
  • "Flight": Fast travel, explore a sky area.
Our next job will be to submit another returning Pokemon. Once again, there will be no specific criteria--just make sure it's an ordinary Pokemon (i.e. not legendary/mythical) and note that this is for the Pokemon's original form, so the winner will not be eligible for a regional variant later on.

Our next job will be to fill out some more Trainer class designs. Submissions for new, original Trainer classes are open.

In addition, if you remember, we previously gave several classes that are set in stone as returning, and we would also like submissions for their designs. These classes are the following:
  • Youngster
  • Lass
  • Bug Catcher
  • Fisherman
  • Ace Trainer
  • Veteran
  • Backpacker
  • Hiker
  • Gentleman/Madame

I resubmit my Veteran design.
Trainer Class Submission

Veteran

Our interpretation of the Veteran preserves the class's general design of being middle-aged individuals with a determined demeanor. The female version wears a dark blue longcoat that has a few small tears and scorch marks, as well as a pair of rectangular glasses. The male version wears a dark red jacket (also with tears and scorch marks) over a gray shirt and dark beige pants, as well as a black bowler hat.

Confectioner

A fancy term meaning candy maker, these trainers wear aprons covered in frosting and have red and purple stripes garments while carrying a towering cake. These trainers are always female and they like to use either a mix of fairy and poison type pokemon or a mix of food and slime based pokemon

The Veteran design and new class Confectioner will be added.

Our next job is to design the game's rival. Describe their appearance and personality. While we don't have our story fleshed out yet, feel free to brainstorm ideas for how the rival would play into things.

Rival Submission
The rival, named Anita, is a girl the same age as our protagonists. She wears a white shirt, brown jacket, green dress, black shoes, and black rectangular glasses. She has brown hair worn in a bun and wears a headband with a Master Ball-inspired design.

She is a combination of the "friendly rival" and "mean rival" archetypes--she is extremely competitive with the protagonist and often ribs them, but in a "Vitriolic Best Buds" kind of way. She has known the protagonist for years and considers them a dear friend--but she doesn't let that stop her from competing/messing with them.

Beyond that, she is shown to generally be competitive and hardworking--though to the point of overworking herself and her Pokemon. A minor plot thread would involve her needing to learn to show restraint and let herself and her Pokemon relax--perhaps this could be reflected in gameplay by occasionally having one of her Pokemon enter a battle with less than full health?

Kai

A mysterious young boy wearing a pure white garment, he is roughly half the age as the plater character and seems to have a special affinity for communicating with his Pokemon. He is introverted and enigmatic and possibly has some sort of ancient past behind him. He even seems to have some sort of connection to the legendary of the region at a spiritual level.

Anita is the winner and will be our protagonists' rival.

Our next job will be to design the next location: Route 3. It will be a shorter route between the forest and the next settlement. Remember to use the below format and keep in mind what point in the game this area is used.
  • Location Name
    • Appearance/Inspiration:
    • Layout (broad description):
    • Wild Pokemon (from Iroan Dex):
      • Potential Wild Pokemon (not yet added):
    • Trainers (class, name, Pokemon rosters):
    • Items (note what the player needs to find them):
Submissions for expanding Route 2 are also open. Please make sure to preserve the original Route 2 design, as seen below, and use the format above.
The first town that players set off on during their first pokémon journey is nestled on an overhanging cliff plateau with stunning views of the sapphire-like ocean below. As a symbolic meaning to start ones journey, the first route will dive down to the beaches below. This route is a slope with a mixture of grasses, rock, and dirt that snakes it’s way down while hugging the cliff face. As the route gets closer to the beachfront, the Rocky and slightly grassy terrain gives way to beach grasses and hill-line dunes before spilling out into Amolofos Beach. This is a stunning beach full of dunes, beach grass, and palm trees that end into the sapphire surf. There exists a boardwalk to navigate these dunes and grasses with are apart of route 2 but empties into the beach. Low level Pokémon can be found here and, during the first trip, players won’t encounter other trainers but a return trip will see an influx of new trainers. If my concept gets selected, I would love to see what kind of Pokémon we could populate it.

Route 3 submissions/Route 2 expansions should close in the next couple days.

Route 2 Expansion Submission
I'll see about finishing the Trainers section (and maybe adding additional items) later.
  • Route 2
    • Appearance/Inspiration: A grassy slope with rocks and dirt. As the route gets closer to the beachfront, the rocky and slightly grassy terrain gives way to beach grasses and hill-line dunes before spilling out into Amolofos Beach. This is a stunning beach full of dunes, beach grass, and palm trees that end into the sapphire surf. There exists a boardwalk to navigate these dunes and grasses with are a part of route 2 but empties into the beach.
    • Layout: Simple layout with wide paths and large patches of grass. The beach area, however, has less grass but a water area that the player can return to after gaining a water traversal move.
    • Wild Pokemon: Antyke, Iroanian Wingull, Hatshell, Rockruff, Porcuprike, Marfinn
      • Potential Wild Pokemon: Sandygast, Sandshrew, Magikarp
    • Trainers:
    • Items: Poke Ball (in grass), Potion (behind a rock), Paralyze Heal (in grass), Hyper Potion (water traversal), Dawn Stone (water traversal), Pearl (water traversal)

Route 3 Submission
Again, trainers and maybe additional items will be done later.
  • Appearance/Inspiration: A short route that serves as an epilogue/transition point after the forest. There are still plenty of trees, but it's not nearly as thick.
  • Layout: Short, straight, no real side paths.
  • Wild Pokemon: Porcuspike, Hatshell, Rockruff
    • Potential Wild Pokemon: Oddish, Roselia
  • Trainers: (only two)
  • Items: Potion (behind a tree), Awakening (surrounded by grass), Poke Ball (blocked by a trainer), Revive (dowsing)
My route submissions automatically win.

Our next job will be to create a new Pokemon--specifically, one associated with Anita, the rival. This new Pokemon will effectively be her signature Pokemon (ignoring her starter). You may design evolutions or make it single-stage.

This Pokemon I have will help fill our quota for form changing Pokemon, and a Grass Girl Pokemon

Image result for narcissus flower
Anatomy of a Flower | FloraQueen

Narsister
Grass Type
The Conjoined Seedling Pokemon
Ability: Cute Charm
100 Percent Female
Narsister resembles a small female child. They have a small little "dress" resembling the flower of a narcissus flower. The head of Narsister is based on a Recertable which is where the stem meets the flower bud. They have thin legs resembling a split stigma and they have four tiny arms resembling aether/filament (the yellow thread-like parts of the flower). Basically, imagine an inverted flower bud with the bottom of the bud forming the face of the flower. From this head is a hair-like tread that becomes paler as it goes down the flower until it enters a seed-like structure. Like Cherubi this seed has a small face on it.
Pokedex Entry
Marble: When this Pokemon is awake the seed that hand on its head lies dormant and will only awaken when the main body falls asleep. They have distinct and often contrasting personalities each other and they both don't like it if someone were to disconnect the two bodies.
Bronze: When this Pokemon is close to evolution one part of the body will become more prone to anger while the other body will have a more laxidazical personality. Studies have found that each body contains one-half of a complete brain and they begin to fuse as the two bodies prepare for evolution.
High Friendship
Persephisus
Grass/Fairy and Grass/Ghost
The Split Flower Pokemon
Ability: Inversion (Every two turns it changes from a physically attacking Grass/Fairy form to a special attacking Grass/Ghost form, it also changes the type of its signature move Spiritual Blossom)
Persephisus has two forms, a Reverted and Inverted form. The body resembles a standard narcissus flower with the standard fixings like a pair of leaves at the end of the stem. The Reverted form has the Pokemon have the flower become a skirt of sorts resembling a gown. The leaves form a face for the creature and overall look like a standard aristocrat. Its Inverted form has that reversed with the flower becoming flowing ghost-like hair and its body becoming the stem.
Pokedex Entry
Marble: These Pokemon have two distinct personalities that duel over who should control the body. When not battling the two forces constantly shift depending on the mood of the situation.
Bronze: Both personalities have distinct views on the world and they tend to but heads with how to deal with a situation. This often leads to more problems than there should be.
Their signature move is again Spiritual Blossom which either becomes a physical fairy move or a special ghost move depending on the form.
Due to the rival combining the friendly and jerk rival I thought a Pokemon that changes based on this personality would fit well. It is partially based oof Persephone who was originally the goddess of the spring but later became the goddess of the underworld hence the fairy and ghost type forms, plus the narcissus is associated with her.

  • Spidore
    • Name meaning: spider + ore
    • Appearance: A spider made of metal. Resembles a metallic version of the shale spider from World of Warcraft.
    • Classification: Iron Spider
    • Type: Steel
    • Abilities:
      • Unnerve
      • Piercing Glare (Lowers Special Attack of opponents on entry.)
      • Hidden: Filter
    • Pokedex:
      • Marble: It lives in caves filled with deposits of metal. As it rarely leaves these caves, it often struggles to find its favorite food—Poison-type Pokemon.
      • Bronze: It spits out molten metal to defend itself. The more stressed it is, the hotter the metal is.
    • Evolves into Widore at Lv. 43.
  • Widore
    • Name meaning: widow + ore
    • Appearance: A larger metal spider, resembles a black widow, molten metal secretes from its mouth.
    • Classification: Steel Spider
    • Type: Steel/Poison
    • Abilities:
      • Unnerve
      • Piercing Glare (Lowers Special Attack of opponents on entry.)
      • Hidden: Filter
    • Pokedex:
      • Marble: Despite its fearsome appearance and ferocious hunting style, it is friendly to those it does not consider prey. It has even been known to guide lost creatures through their caves.
      • Bronze: The chemicals within its body cause it to produce secretions of liquid metal that are both toxic and searingly hot.
Both of these Pokemon can learn "Molten Metal," a special Steel-type move with 80 power and 90 accuracy. It may leave the opponent with a burn. It is not a signature move; other Pokemon may learn it.

Fuselad
Name: Based on fuse + lad
The Short Fuse Pokemon
Type: Fire/Electric
Ability: Flash Fire
Second Ability: Volt Absorb
Hidden Ability: Drought
Pokedex:
Marble: This Pokemon can a famously short fuse. When triggered, it explodes in fiery and electrical rage.
Bronze: When angered, it releases its stored up frustration all at once. Despite this, it has a very determined personality.

Detonanger
Name: Based on detonate + anger
The Explosive Pokemon
Type: Fire/Electric
Ability: Flash Fire
Second Ability: Volt Absorb
Hidden Ability: Drought
Pokedex:
Marble: This Pokemon is a walking time bomb. It stores up its frustration and anger until it comes to a boiling point. It then unleashed it by releasing detonations from its hands and head.
Bronze: When it does something, it does it with its ironist power. It has a charged up fiery personality that leaves everyone uneasy.

Hyplosion
Name: Based on hype + explosion
The Bombastic Pokemon
Type: Fire/Electric
Ability: Flash Fire
Second Ability: Volt Absorb
Hidden Ability: Drought
Pokedex:
Marble: This Pokemon is in a constant state of rage, excitement, and hype. Anything is capable of setting it off and, once it’s done, nothing stands in its path. Fireworks are said to shoot out from its head and hands as it thrashes about.
Bronze: It easily gets excited and this is especially true if it goes a long period without excitement. It stores its excitement and hype over line periods of boredom and will unleash it. One kids birthday party was crashed by a Hyplosion after it saw bubbles after tens day of now excitement.

Upon evolving, Hyplosion learns the move “Fireworks” which is a Fire-type move that deals damage, lowers accuracy, and has a chance of burning the opponent.

I feel this pokemon line fits Anita due to her rather domineering yet friendly personality. This Pokémon isn’t certainly an Oddish or Gardevoir but it’s not on the same plane of no-do-goodery as Gengar, Yveltal, and Malamud. It just gets excited and sometimes too excited. I drew pictures but I have yet to upload them.

Vote your favorite of these three. I vote Spidore and Widore myself (partially because I've had these concepts for a while and love them, partially because I want to avoid potential overlap with the starter types).
