The demo starts out with the opening cutscene of Infamous 2 which is more or less a recap of the events of the first game sprinkled with some new info. Then it shifts to Cole, Zeke, and their new ally Kuo reaching New Marais(The Infamous equivalent of New Orleans). You start the demo as Good Cole and are tasked with finding Dr. Wolfe as well as the first Blast Core. Anyway, as far as I can tell, everything has been improved tenfold. Gameplay, graphics, you name it. I thoroughly enjoyed bashing the Militia upside the head with the amp. Also, if you continue to smack someone with the amp, the triangle button will appear above a little meter on the bottom left of the screen which lets Cole perform a cool as **** finishing move on said enemy(or civilian if you're devilish enough
) Eventually Cole makes it over to where the Blast Core is and soon notices the Militia firing rockets at a specific building. Thankfully, Dr. Wolfe is still in one piece by the time Cole reaches him. He then tells Cole about the RFI(Ray Field Inhibitor). Basically, the RFI and the Blast Cores are the key to Cole's victory over the Beast. Cole then activates the first Blast Core which has him pass out for a while. When he wakes up, he sees Zeke who asks him what happened. Cole believes he might have gained a new power which turns out to be true. This new power turns out to be Kinetic Pulse which lets Cole pick things up and throw them all over the place. The demo then lets you sample the dark side of the karma coin as it then shifts to Evil Cole. As soon as you regain control, you are advised to do a mission. I forgot the name of it, but in this mission, the Militia and the Corrupted(mutated swamp monsters) are throwing down near a park and it's your job to sort through them all. Once that's taken care of, You are prompted to do another mission called "Sacrifice". In this mission, Zeke tells you that a woman got kidnapped by the Militia and that it's your job to go save her because he figures Cole might get repayed for his good deed. At first, You see a few members of the Militia, But the majority of the enemies encountered in this mission are the Corrupted. After Cole finds and frees the woman, she asks him to follow her. Eventually, you meet her uncle who's a member of a resistance group trying to overthrow the Militia. He's a bit distrustful of Evil Cole, but his niece( the woman you rescued) tries to persuade him that Cole has good intentions. Before long, a devourer(a stronger member of the the Corrupted) shows up to cause havoc. Thankfully, he's nothing Evil Cole can't handle. The girl's uncle is still wary of Cole, but promises his squad will help him in the future. Then it shifts back to Good Cole who is tasked with retrieving some medical supplies the Militia have stolen. This time, you get to try out Ionic Vortex. Needless to say, It's very satisfying. Unfortunately, the demo ends just as Cole gets the last box of medical supplies. It then shows the "Quest For Power" trailer and that's that ladies and gentlemen. Overall, I though the demo was electrifying. (no pun intended) and I can't wait for the full game which comes out June 7th which is Tuesday of next week.
