Hi Boom! /belated

Also, today was amazing. Got hired full-time at the one place I was dying to work at (and they're prepping me to come in as an assistant manager -- with salary!), plus delicious celebratory dinner, plus tonight is Terra Nova + BGC night. So happy~ <3

It's a no-kill dog & cat shelter/vet office. They want me to do adoptions mainly, so my job is basically matching homes with the animals. =D a.k.a. dream job for me.

Thanks. :bee:

& yeah, all the animals that come in are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. The vet office also provides the first exam for free (to anyone, whether the pet was adopted from us or not), so it's a really nice system they have going on.

Spaying an neutering is the most important part of keeping pet population control. I don't see why a shelter wouldn't spay/neuter animals.

Personally, as far as urban/suburban places go, I see absolutely no reason as to why they should not be spayed/neutered. It prevents males from spraying and being more aggressive and it prevents females from being able to get pregnant. I don't really think it's mean because it's for the good of all the animals and it mellows them down to be less wild and more domesticated pet.

/yaybias :D

I'm probably going to go research the no-spay/neuter argument now via guilt trip.

I feel better now. I think the obesity and urinary issues can be solved by switching to canned food, which is waaay more natural of a diet than dry food, but the rest I guess are unavoidable.
