Pet Names

So I was sitting here staring at my dog thinking what if she had another name. Her name is Varda, it comes from a J.R.R Tolkein book, and it means golden lady. I didn't name her that it's just that she was adopted from a previous owner, and when she died the next dog was named Varda II. Both golden retrievers. But anyway, I was thinking that everyone here would probably have some creative names for their pets and if not some good ideas.

We once had a guinea pig named Carmel. No weird story there, it was just carmel colored. But then, 2 weeks after buying it from the store, we wake up to see another guinea pig in the cage. It gave birth! We named the baby guinea pig Surprise.

we have only named a few of our animals actual names in a long time. we just kind of build up on a name.

two animals with names. KC- is a dong Mister Frank-(sister named him that) is a cat

the other animals- cat- little fuzz/devil cat
bird-...bird
geese- (they were cool) honker and bonker. they are gone now
hedge hog- spike pig (influenced by redwall)
we had a Guinea pig but i dont think we ever named it.

I've got a dog named Patch and a cat named King Tut (but we call him Tutters).

Frankly, I don't know the reasoning behind either of these names...

My two dogs are Griffin and Bruno. Griffin is 1/2 golden retriever 1/2 Pit bull and Bruno is a basset hound. We named Bruno and Griffin was adopted.

We had a cat named Darkside. She died at about 18 years old.
We had a cat named Belle, gave her to my godmother after her now ex-husband's cat named Simba died.
I have a hamster, I don't really have a name for him though.
We had a dog named Nero. He was a Colby Pit bull. We gave him away because my mom was going to have my sister and we were afraid she would get hurt because he was a hyper dog. He is related to the dog from the original little Rascals, and his father was Movan's (however you spell that, the guy who played in the MLB) dog.

I have a German shepherd mix named Sasha, a dog (I forgot the breed, though its a mix) named Molly, and two shorthair mix cats named Chase (*******) and Casey (fatass).

I used to have a Samoyed named Chelsey, and chow mix named Annabella (or Bella, for short), and a cat of a forgotten breed named Emily.

but has anyone ever let their PET pick their own name? like I just had this idea. I dunno, maybe narrow down your best choices and lay them out on the floor or something. Then have your pet pick one, and voila! you've just named your pet!

I dunno, sounds kinda lame now that I think about it... but I'd try it
