I already played a bunch tonight with my bf. Plus, I think I need to learn more confirms and such before I hop back into matches.

Hopefully next time! :3

i swear shabrys/labrys jb is unblockable on netplay

and the combos are fairly easy

it's so hard to stay calm as a character that needs to block correctly

Wow...um...that whole session was kinda ugly. I know I never play Yosukes so that's kinda understandable, and I get that it's important to "play your worst matchup until it's your best matchup", and this might just be due to frustration from feeling in the dark in the matches, but I feel kinda disappointed and almost like I should've learned far more than I did.

That being said, good games everyone, and I hope that the next time I run into the matchups (particularly the Yosuke and Aigis ones) that I'll know what to do better.

Jam also does a great job on making you impatient after wakeup. I feel like wanting to take the easy way out, but more than half of the time that's a bad idea lol.

Yeah, and plus I think we can all agree I already have to work on not being so easily frustrated and on not getting so impatient as it is, so when you couple that with it, yeah...

Edit: I know, right? That mixup sounds WAY easier to block when you're just thinking about it.

GGs everyone.

40 matches, 0 wins.

But new character, so I guess that's to be expected?

I don't know, feels like I haven't been getting better overall for a while, regardless of character/game. Guess I just need to keep playing.

GGs, everyone, thanks for the games and helping me learn Yosuke.

I would've played longer, Sion, but I had some new ideas that I wanted to test in training mode.
But yeah, I was tired from all the games too from tonight.

I know how you feel. I fully believe though that the only way you won't improve is if you stop trying to, so you'll get it before you know it.

Guys, sucking at something is the first step to being sorta good at something. :3

That's totally true. Especially for things like driving. Though...those 5 guys I plowed through might disagree. :awesome:

But in all seriousness, you're right. Though for some people some things like this just "click" quicker and more easily than for others.

Sorry about the decline Minato, had a big gathering at my place. I'm starting to become convinced that Brawl and Soku players just don't see the value in blocking or neutral game.

Hahahaha

Bad - mediocre soku players have the worst habits when transferring to a more traditional fighter.

And doing them better.

MWAHAHAHA.

Haha, oh snap. That might not be...fun....at all...*remembers Extend matches against Minato*...oh. Just kidding, lol.

But to be honest, in terms of learning another character, I thought he'd started picking up Yosuke and had Minato pegged as more of a potential Akihiko or Mitsuru player than Shabrys or Labrys.

His Yosuke is already better than mine. :mad088:

His Shabrys will be the best in smashboards in a few days.

No offense to the Shabrys' here, we all just stand no chance against Minato.

He will have the whole cast down eventually.

Yo, speaking of Minato~

What can Aigis do against Yu? If I get the momentum, I'm fine, but if he gets it, I get pooped on. His range beats mine a lot of the time as well. Thoughts?

I can somewhat use Mitsuru. I'm trying to make hit confirming feel more natural though with her. Plus I've been neglecting conversions off of anti-air hits. I thought Akihiko seemed pretty cool before the game was ported, but I never got around to learning him yet. He's pretty straight forward though.

Also, I do know Labrys. She was pretty easy to learn, I just haven't used her in awhile.

And if I had Minato down for a specific character, it would have been Liz, haha.
Besides Yu, she's still my other favorite character. It's just that no one likes playing against her or they don't know how to fight her. So I don't feel like I'm learning as much when I'm using her besides blocking better.

I feel like my order on what I know are Yu > Liz > Yosuke > Chie/Labrys > Naoto/Mitsuru > Aigis

I'm not entire sure how Aigis should approach the matchup. All of Yu's air normals will beat out her air normals. 2B and 5B are annoying to deal with unless you're baiting him to whiff while you're in Orgia mode. Best bet is to play it safe with j.D and 2B and learn how to overwhelm him in Orgia mode during the neutral game.

On his offense, I think besides your DP, your 5A beats his A Raging Lion. Obviously if he whiffs DP, it's the perfect time to do triple Megido combos. Backdash in Orgia mode forces Yu to change up how he does oki.

Be careful of 2Bing since he can find ways to punish it up close or with meter. Also never DP (blocked) into super since he can IK you.
