I'm back but I'm way too tired. Tomorrow lets do some Persona guys.
I didn't even get to play today. I played Umineko, BB, 3S, and Melee. Totally gonna win SCR.
Did anyone know that Narukami's 5D oki could be avoided by teching at the right moment in 1.01, but it's impossible to do this in 1.00? I totally didn't until today.
It shouldn't be. There's a certain timing that you have to do for 5D and I don't think the Narukami boards even mentioned it.

It was an open room, so he was just someone who joined.

Everyone else has discussed your defensive problems in P4A (which honestly didn't look that bad tonight), but I'd like to focus on your offense for a moment. Try to work on adjusting your playstyle to match your opponent as you play. We played a few matches tonight, and something you may have noticed is that I IAD j.b ALOT. Aisight once said that when he sees me IAD, he does a DP on reaction because he knows what's coming next. Likewise, you want to realize what I'm doing and respond accordingly; in Yu's case, that would be 2B.

Also, you should work on having a better planned offense. It shouldn't be a flowchart, but there should be a clear idea in your mind of what happens after you connect with a move. There was alot of damage you left on the floor because you didn't follow through with combos or setups. As others have suggested, work on learning three combos right now: one bnb, one for fatal counters and one for anti-airs. Drill them in practice mode, so that when you hit that 2B or hear the announcer shout "Fatal!" what happens next is automatic.

I'm up for some games. Jam, what's your PSN name?
JamStunna, but I'm offline now. I may join in tomorrow.

Also, kind of a dumb question that probably I'll get yelled at for not knowing, but it'll be less dumb to ask now than later, but is there any way to get out of the aerial axe overhead > axe uppercut super combo that does like 4.5-5k? Like, is there a spot in there you can tech, is the only way out to Burst, and if so at what point is best to try bursting?
You can't tech it unless I drop the combo (numbers go from red to yellow), you have to burst it. As for bursting it, burst it at any point except when the aerial axe overhead hits you into the ground. What happens sometimes is that I'll buffer in the super, and the burst activates at that moment, but since Labrys is in super freeze she doesn't get hit by the burst and you eat an unscaled super.

I went to a tournament that I was told would have P4A but didn't, and the system was a 360 with no DLC and that hadn't been patched. I definitely remember timing my ground-tech to not get picked up by Izanagi but not get invalid-picked-up by it either plenty of times on other people's systems, but on this one if I didn't immediately ground-tech the sweep then I'd be forced to eat invalid 5D.

I record my mixups and try it on myself and I've never gotten it to work in training mode. There's a timing where all 3 hits will work and late teching isn't possible in time. People may have done it to me online when I mess up my timing, but offline, 5D is guaranteed.

Now that I check more closely, I suppose the ability to do so is largely spacing-dependent.

Gotta admit, it's a bit strange for me because with this and the last time I played Minato (granted that was Blazblue, but I feel it still applies) I had felt kind of like I was going to be criticized for having bad defense, looking like I was playing scared, and being a bit too cautious. That, and I was trying not to DP and 2B too much because I know the DP is far from safe on block, and I don't think 2B is safe either, so finding out 2B was a proper option is a bit surprising. There are a couple of combos I sort of know, however they're Challenge Mode combos, and I feel like those aren't the ideal or most practical combos that could be used in a number of situations, so I'll certainly need to focus on some.

Kinda unfortunate I can't tech the Labrys combo, but I admittedly wasn't expecting to much to. Looks like I'll just have to block he setups to it in that case. And I'd be up for another lobby tomorrow if it gets hosted, sure.

Yukiko, Akihiko, Yu, and Kanji seem to be the only DL boards that get posts. Unfortunately my execution is bad or I'd try to help you out with Yukiko combos :<

I figured out a proper fatal combo from point blank and a way to do MASSIVE DAMAGE in the event I broke my Persona in a fatal j.C lol.

Also, officially entering SCR for Persona 4 Arena as THE GREAT NINJOR (it's a long story).

Yeah, and even then I don't think the Narukami boards have been active since about New Year's. Still, I'm trying to fish out some stuff and possibly get a couple things down for when I get around to checking the printer cartridge. Also Aisight, while that's hilarious sounding, I won't try and fish it out of you since you said it's long unless you make Top 3.

Eww Ninjor. I would've gone "MASSED rye-DUHR".

I still need to learn new setups LOL

Haven't been visiting DL as much as before. That and no one plays Yukiko :[
I think you mean no one plays Persona. D:
I know what you mean.

Ah, Labrys' 22x series is cool! I forgot that you could do so many weird things with it.
This. She's like a ghetto Narukami mixed in with a Guilty Gear character. 22x after a sweep can lead to some nice mixups or even a long blockstring for axe meter.

I'll be on all day.
So, I'm thinking about picking up Chie on the side.

Can anyone give me some tips or pointers about her?
5A pressure. JC a blocked normal into air turn around back air dash into mixup. 5DD midscreen oki after 5B 2B sweep. Corner oki after sweep is a slightly delayed 2DD (5DD after sweep in corner loses to 5 frame or lower moves). 5B CH combo starts off with 5B into 2D. Air CH leads to j.BB j.8D into sweep/AoA. j.BB in that can be improvised into whatever tbh. Combos you'll figure out on your own. Some cheap invisible overheads are 236A OMC j.B. Another one is that trick where you can do SB Skull Cracker upon landing while bypassing her bicycle kick.

Other tips is learn that you can combo off of your DP if the enemy is cornered. Learn her j.D oki and combos against Teddie.

I know this was directed to Lythi, but a bunch of those sound pretty useful so if you don't mind, I think I might just use them myself. Not familiar with the SB Skull Cracker trick though. And lol Crusayer. I see what you did there.

It's not like I can stop you (not that I would).

Skull Cracker trick is doing j.236AB right when you land. Basically your kicks won't come out and you'll flash. During this part, input 236B when you land which makes Skull Cracker come out. So you can do stuff like, air dash j.BB Skull Cracker, do only one j.B, or pretend you're doing an empty jump low. It's an invisible overhead that's impossible to react to. And it's only 25 SP.

Let's play after Apex Melee matches are over, Sion. Train me for SCR, I need that good decent connection.

livewire, for like the remainder of the night just don't let yourself hit AoA or DP.

Omg

Haha, I know. I had the worst luck with that tonight. Even worse is after I hit an AoA, since I'd be mashing A+B to try to get the full FC amount of hits on it, I'd be going so that when I hit C to launch, I'd OMC the whole thing and just waste 50 meter. Or...wind up jumping early and doing j.C. And yeah, both of those are pretty much a mental note to "stop freaking panicking and actually pay attention to what you're pressing when you get like that".

And yeah, good games everyone. Though, on that random bit of me picking Kanji? That was totally an accident since I meant to pick Chie. So um...thanks for not totally destroying me like I know you could've, Minato?
