So long as the Xbox continues to never get most of the games I like, I will not have to worry about ever needing to buy one. I would really like the PS3 to live longer, but it looks like that will unlikely now. I'll probably need the PS4 for fighting games sooner than I'd like.

I have become a big fan of handheld systems after the DS, consoles still have there place but with handhelds getting all the cool JRPGs I'm playing on them more often. I want a Vita just of P4G right now but I just don't have the money so it will have to wait.

I'm still a Nintendo fan, so I'll probably get a Wii U one day when it gets more game.

I don't mind buying handhelds, since each handheld offers unique games for the most part.
As for KH, I do have all the consoles besides a 3DS, but I just lost interest so I haven't been following it.

Sony's in an awkward spot, imo. Giving their direct competitor a full year before releasing their own console is just risky. Especially if Sony isn't able to offer anything different.

I'm holding off on a Wii U. I'll probably buy a PS4 down the line, especially if its games stay region free.
I bought my 360 mainly because it was cheaper and it had Tales of Vesperia (which got ported with extras in Japan). So I doubt I'll be getting the Nextbox.

While I can understand that, was the PS3 not put out over a year after the 360 was? I suppose my biggest potential question in all this is if the WiiU will be Dreamcasted or not.

Yeah, it did, and it hurt Sony. 599 price tag and very few exclusives did not help its launch.
The first few years of the PS3 were absolutely awful.

Wii U isn't as exciting to me as it should be, but I feel like the console will be just fine.

Sony has nearly killed its console on launch for both PS2 and PS3, though it recovered more gracefully as far as PS2 goes.

At heart I'm a PC gamer, so I pretty much only get consoles for good games that have no alternative.

Oh I remember that $599 price tag. If they had started at $399 then there probably would've been a lot less of an issue. I mean hell, the 360 was already at least $350 if you add in the extra hard drive and stuff needed after you bought it.

I know this is the Persona thread, but seeing as the Street Fighter thread is dead, I'm going to post some stuff for LivewiresXe here from our matches tonight:

1) Work on your blocking. I landed most of my jump-ins because you weren't blocking them correctly. I rarely did any crossups because I didn't need to.

2) Work on your combos. A few times you landed a j.fk on me, but then walked forward and grabbed me. A really simple combo that gets nice damage off of that is j,fk > cr.fp > ex bird kick > otoshi.

Along those same lines, Sakura's dp is really unsafe and awful as a wakeup option. Don't throw it out without hitconfirming from a combo first, like cr.lp x2 > cr.mk > dp. Otherwise, you're going to eat a big combo. If you absolutely have to use it on wakeup, always use the ex version since it has alot of invincibility.

3) Mix up your options when you score a knockdown. Most of the time you threw out a charged fireball followed by st. fk. You didn't jump in on me or cross me up a single time. You don't want to always jump in on a character like Ryu or Guile, but it's a good option to use against Juri, Chun and Makoto, all of who have poor wakeup reversal options. You can also use flower kick as an overhead for players who wakeup and crouchblock.

If I think of anything else, I'll post it later. I hope this helps.

He blocked other stuff okay, but was pretty free to jump ins. Which reminds me:

4) Don't wake up with grabs so often. Alot of the damage I scored, especially in the corner, came from me punishing your whiffed grab attempts.

First off, sorry for the weird lag that happened at the start and the end of things where it'd freeze for a bit. No idea what happened with that. Yeah, I didn't do much in the way of combos or crossups, which admittedly, is because I don't actually KNOW crossups or combos barring that sort of loop thing involving the weak Shunpyaku(sp?) and doing Otoshi after the EX version of the move.

Though for what it's worth, I seemed to randomly have trouble doing any DP of any kind all night (was actually driving me crazy when I was trying to practice Desperation Move into NEOMAX cancels in KOFXIII), and I kept on doing standing jab then crouching jab whenever I would go to hit one. That's not counting failed Otoshi follow ups of course, lol.

That being said, you're pretty freaking scary in AE sometimes, but I'm just glad I was able to get those few rounds off of your Juri (though that begs the question of why the hell I didn't play like those rounds more often). I do however, kinda wish you'd stayed Juri, at least for a couple of more matches since I felt I was making progress by the last couple. That and I sometimes don't like it when someone I'm playing against wins and then keeps switching characters because it sometimes will be like "look, I get it, you can beat me, so at least beat me with your best character so I don't come across looking super free", though I doubt that was your intent.

Beyond that (and now hating Makoto), not sure I can really think of TOO much now other than thinking close standing roundhouse would've countered that jump overhead split kick thing you kept doing with Juri, and I believe the anti-airs you were using when I jumped in were like...crouching and standing medium?

Well, that's the idea of switching. I can't give away ALL my secrets with any one character.

Sakura's best anti-air is cr.fp. It's amazingly great, use it and use it often. The anti-airs I use with Juri are cr.mp and cr.fp. I just did the standing one to try it out.

I was actually thinking of doing crouching fierce but I thought it might have had too slow of a startup.

Well, got back from work with Persona 4 Golden (premium edition). Gonna play this all night.
Only thing to make this night better is if BBCP gets streamed.

No. No, they aren't.

Think more like 15 hours ahead. That's why they have the game, because it was the 21st over there, while it was still the 20th over here.

Well, it was like 2am here when I saw the first videos so I figured it was like a morning-noon thing. But yeah, now that you mention it, saying they're only as far ahead as like Europe makes NO SENSE and if I may I'd like to blame my not thinking on fatigue johns.

I would, but I've had one of those days where I like, didn't feel like playing anything. When I turned on my PS3 I like...sat there for what must've been at least 5 minutes trying to decide what to play, went upstairs for an hour and a half, came down, did it again, and turned it off.

Oh right, apparently we get Black Friday-esque deals up here now, Lythi. Which is sweet, but concerning because of how overly tempting things may be. Dare I take the time to pick up TTT2 and a couple others or do I simply focus on the fighters I have and ultimately save money. Hm...

I might play later, though oddly enough last night kinda made me realize playing P4A sorta made me miss BB.

I can't really say for sure when I'd be on though, what with the heading into the mall in the city on account of a bunch of stores up here (and Amazon.ca) doing Black Friday-esque deals. Plus, EBGames is doing like $20-$40 off stuff (though not planning on spending the $9.99 for Max Payne 3, lol).

Well, I'm back so might hop on the PS3 in a bit. Sleeping Dogs/Arkham City GOTY/Silent Hill Downpour for $80, and The Walking Dead/True Blood Season 1 for $38. Ha, and they say Black Friday's not a Canadian thing. :bee:

So I'm standing at the bus stop, waiting to go home, and I say to myself, "I want to learn how to play with Naoto!" So that's happening.

Oh man I know nothing about this character lol

Getting counterhit by Yosuke is like, "Damn, that sucks."

Getting counterhit by Elizabeth is like, "**** I'M DEAD"
