Off-topic question, but how are you guys able to use your arcade sticks so well? The stick, not the buttons. (teehee)

I've had mine for years, but I still mess up jumps, IADs/backdashes, dashes and will botch almost every combo and make accidental inputs on a very frequent basis.

As someone who is still also relatively new to using sticks, I find that my problem with that was moving too fast which would mess up my IADs/backdashes etc. And I also had a problem of jumping accidentally while blocking trying to switch blocking from low to high.

I've been slowly learning to simply be more controlled, by moving the stick a bit slower so that my inputs are less sporadic.

I would say see if that is your problem?

I also play all my other games on stick so its starting to feel really comfortable to me. But for me thats just because I want to make it feel like it was way more than worth it to buy my stick. And using the stick is fun haha

Sticks....?

I never found them hard to block. I think you just mashed or don't pay attention to mixups well enough.
Hey now I only mash a button on wakeup when I want to instant block :V
I react pretty late to mixups in general though so that might just be me.

lol i don't know why i accepted that lobby invite Livewire since i don't know a thing about blazblu. i was trying to drag myself through story mode when i got it! i don't even know all the characters' moves. and i think i was getting taunt (?) when i was trying to roll. how do you roll/sweep in this game? is there even roll/sweep...

hmm i think this post should have gone in the blazblue thread but whatever.

Universal sweep is 3C (while universal anti-air is 6A). I wouldn't treat it exactly like a sweep from P4A or GG though.
There's no P4A-type roll in BB.

Yeah, sorry about that. I just saw you on, and I thought "oh maybe he's had it for a bit and has some secret tech I don't know about yet". Didn't mean to put you in a bad spot or anything. And if it helps, Gigabowser/Koopa Klawz' kicked my butt afterwards with his Hakumen for a while.

i don't really care about looking bad but it was really obvious you guys knew some stuff so i would just be wasting your time. and i have had it for a while actually. just never played past the story which is taking like 30 hours to get through. no real competitive interest in the game from me either.

Been too busy studying so I wasn't able to watch the stream. How was the tourney, Livewire?

It was really good actually, and I got to try out a bunch of games I hadn't really played before on the arcade cabinets like 3rd Strike and SFxT. In P4A I kinda got death pooled as I was against Pochp in the first round and a really good Yosuke after that. There was some really hilarious moment though when this Chie from Waterloo was playing this Teddie and won by time out in the middle of a throw with like a pixel more

Blazblue was actually kind of funny. I got told that in 2nd round winners I'd be facing either Brice or Sophisticat (which is a case of Tager or Hakumen) on stream, so obviously Brice wins that match and I got ground pounded hard by Brice, though I managed to avoid Drive mashing. I won my next match against some Ragna player and wound up facing some Hazama player named Steb after that beat me from there. But well, going like 2-2 or whatever, isn't too bad, and is something I can be happy with instead of going 0-2.

Lordknight, Shtkn, St1ckbug, and someone else from Jersey that I don't know were there and the numbers were pretty good. Blazblue had 46 people in it, Guilty Gear had 36, and I think P4A had like....somewhere between 24 and 28? But yeah, it was pretty fun and shoutouts to ordering food that you don't know what it is, and to walking 6km in one day. :bee:

According to BB's Twitter, 45 for BB, 32(?) for GG, 22 for P4A.

I watched some of the stream yesterday, it was pretty good. Level 5 totally had Deadliest, but he got greedy.

Good job, Livewire, I wish I could have gone this year. :(

Ah yeah, right you are. There were actually a number of times when stuff like that happened, or when it was just a pixel left, it was crazy. It would've been cool to have you and Gaudeo come out, but I get why you couldn't. There's always next year, and all that.

Yeah, I was pretty disappointed.

There's always next year though! :3

I'm currently stuck in the vortex called Marvel. The salt makes me want to escape but I can't seem to get out.

Well, I finished TLoU last night, so I should have more time for fighters now. Though I'm strangely getting drawn to SFxT for an inexplicable reason.

I'm probably going to wait for the next (and most likely, inevitable) version of this game. I still like this game, but sometimes it's a little too wild for me.

Probably focus on other stuff for now, unless anyone wants some casual mashing.

It's pretty interesting how much my opinion on this game has changed from last year to now (along with BB as well). It's like they swapped for both games.

Yeah, I pretty much stopped when I got that CT/CS feel on it. Of course it's a lot more tame, but pretty much everyone has ridiculous stuff while the top have even more so.

Aw, but I like technology. :(

Also I dunno if this game will ever have a next version. Despite the relatively small cast and cliffhanger end, I can't help but feel like this was just one happy canonical spinoff before Persona goes back to RPGs.

Haha, I know what you mean. Sometimes, I feel like when I'm playing against characters like Chie, I'm just running up a down escalator.

Just give me a version where Labby is decent, please. ;-; Or maybe I'll just keep playing Slab at this point, I don't even know.

As soon as I get regular internet access again, I'm back on this game. I love Labrys too much not to play, even with Chie running around.

Starting this Monday, I'll be staying at a house with internet for two weeks, so I'll be on pretty much every night. I'm also down for SFxT if you want to play, LWX, as long as the connection isn't horrible (which is unfortunately, usually the case in SFxT).

Well this is very bad. https://twitter.com/sprsk/status/350164804150886400

As for what will happen to Atlus, who knows. From the sounds of it, Atlus isn't a separate entity from Index so it might not be possible to just buy out that gaming division.

Edit: Due to the official press release, sounds like a buy-out is being looked at or a partnership.

I hope things work out well, I remember hearing that Atlus is one of the more successful parts of Index(but I don't know how true that is), so I'm not too worried yet. I don't really know who the likely companies to buy Atlus are though.

Whatever happens, I hope they can continue to focus on Nintendo stuff, I love their DS/3DS games and I don't want to see SMT x FE disappear.

That doesn't sound too bad, not great either but if I understand that right then it means Atlus can continue doing what they are doing.

I guess there's nothing else to do except to keep watching, and buy SMTIV.
