If I remembered what I did more I would have less 0-X streaks, lol.
If you have time, match videos help so much. Most of the time, I tend to focus on different situations of spacing and distance between the player and their opponent, and then see how they react on neutral/defense/offense. Then you just judge what worked and what didn't. Gives you a good idea on what move to throw out or not throw out. It'll help you break out of that autopilot where online players mash A or DP for no reason.

are the properties for OMC/OMB different enough that they vary in their follow-ups or are they more or less interchangeable? i was looking through some narukami combos and 214D had both OMC and OMB as follow-ups. so do you just use whichever one you have access to?

OMC is just like BB's Rapid and OMB is a follow-up burst; different things.

So I'm guessing if the combo is written like that, it's very specific to that combo/Narukami, and you just use whatever you still have if you decide to commit to it.

Because Yukiko has stuff like j.AA>OMB>236C>... I can't (shouldn't) use OMC in that situation because I need them to launch up from the OMB to connect to Maragi. Otherwise they are just falling to the ground along with me. So "different enough that they vary in their follow-ups" applies here.

edit: lol. seems like i completely missed the mark. ill shut up now.

OMB changes the damage scaling and hitstun scaling, so you'll do more damage and you're able to do longer combos. It's better than OMC but at the cost of a burst. OMC doesn't do anything to the damage scaling or hitstun which makes it weaker but used more often.

OMB is worth -200 proration, which is kind of like -2 moves in a combo.

Just about everyone can deal that much damage with full resources. It's Challenge 30 for most of the cast >_>

Even though I stopped doing Challenge combos for more practical ones, I should've clarified that I didn't mean it was gross Liz could do that with full meter and a burst, but that ANYBODY could do a full life combo that comes across looking Marvel-y, is all.

Well I mean, this game is Arcsys fighter, so that doesn't exactly seem like it's a new concept. Besides, in BBCP Hakumen can deal 95% life off of air-throw with Overdrive and 8 orbs lol.

Lol, yeah...that's kinda odd too. Then again, you're talking to a guy who finds it insane that Tager's grab distortion does almost 6k with his normal grab doing 3k-ish, even though against anybody other than Noel, the grabs are like...all he has so who knows. But then again, it's the life we choose picking an airdasher, or Marvel. :bee:

haha, I feel you have pretty good execution and decent confirms, but you're completely in the dark on matchups at this point. You'd block, and then you'd press buttons at the absolute worst time to press buttons lol.

Yeah. Some of that might be due to my PS3 controller being jacked up. It presses random buttons sporadically and I have to hit it hard to fix it. Cant afford another pad at the moment. That only counts for some of the incidents though lol

I'll probably be on tonight in an hour or so to see if anybody wants to play some P4A. If not, you'll probably find me on BB or TTT2, or XCOM or something, lol.

Ah yes...the dreaded "dropping games you should have won" syndrome. I know that feeling all too well. And I swear I will never get that Elizabeth matchup as long as I live.

blindhobo - came really close to winning many times, just gotta grind those combos. Was still nice getting to play a Liz who makes it hurt when I make poor decisions. Also be quicker with the AoA OMC grab super setup, I don't think I saw you properly execute it even once and I even had enough time to SEE that you weren't gonna land it when I was sitting in ice.

Tec - Yo those crossups are impossible to block in our coast-to-coast delay lol I mashed so much DP on you

Sakurazaki - Much better showing than last time, don't be too comfortable with your projectiles at fullscreen, as you might've noticed lightning can tag you pretty hard for it. Also setting Maragi midscreen is asking to get dive grabbed.

LWX - You play a weird game of either too many or not enough buttons. Also practice getting the Fatal end on your AoA's, stopping at 10-12 hits is the lazy way out. Overall you just looked really shaky all over the place, put more time into training getting movement, combos, and blockstrings down so executing everything becomes second nature to you and you don't either hesitate or flail all the time.

I dunno I ate like one or two when I thought I switched block in time and for the rest of our games I just auto-disrespected with either jump or DP lol

damn really? haha i guess i just haven't had a lot of opportunities to practice it in real non-laggy matches. i saved some replays but i can't remember which games they were so i'll look through them and try to identify where i'm messing up.

Admittedly, my training's been with CSX lately, and I literally accepted the invite the second I put P4A into my PS3. I think what might get me with Liz (and sometimes Kanji, as I noticed the differences in rounds with your Kanji based on the style I played) is that I'm an offensive-minded player, but Liz and Kanji just have tools to make that impractical, which is frustrating. I did better against your Kanji when I had more of a "it doesn't matter if it takes 8 seconds or 80 seconds, as long as I get his life down safely" approach. Well, safely for me, lol.
