I said this somewhere before but am 2 lazy to find it.

G&W is a great character who I consider somewhat broken. His problem is the high tiers and MK are even more broken. The 'balanced' characters are more in the mid and Borderline tier range. Bellow that is where we start to have bad characters :dizzy:.

That's Brawl for you:glare:.

I don't think he even comes close. Back in 08 if you were to ask me, i'd tell you GW was 3rd best.

Now i wouldn't even consider him close. He's still solid but he is extremely average. I personally don't think we **** any character I think Ness and Jiggs are our best and I consider them both +3s (I know some people think jiggs is +4 but I disagree)

I think a lot of the low tiers he either goes +1 or +2 on. I think Link is only a +1 for us, and Lucas is possibly +2 (despite popular belief). I think his real power comes from RC and Brinstar as two very powerful CPs and possibly being the best on RC and our good (better) matchup vs MK considering our tier placement. I think most of our matchups are +1, or -1. I feel that GW:Fox/Wolf/ZSS/D3/Wario are evens. Possibly Peach but I still think it's slightly in our favor. Maybe some other i'm not really thinking right now i'm just saying what's on my mind.

I don't think GW is bad, but I think he's very limited and it takes a LOT of work to pull out his potential. But I feel that potentially he caps out bottom of high tier with RC and Brinstar, without them I still think he is "borderline".

Love him to death though, regardless of how frustrated I get dying off the top to dumb moves (like wolf's fair) at 60% or whatever (yeah it's happened...) I've accepted the fact that I am meant to be a GW main

Was gaw in Top tier in 2008 because people didn't understand his playstyle? MK could be taken down if the same happens to him.

That's basically how I feel. G&W reeeeally destroys Zelda too. G&W/Link is +2G&W because Link sucks so hard off stage. A lot of Link's MUs are bad just because the gimping factor (Marth and Peach would be about even, maybe a tiny advantage with no gimps IMO).

BTW, how should G&W space Lucario? He does that annoying move backward>Fsmash thing at high %s and it's giving me trouble :urg:.

Falco's giving me trouble too; I posted in the vid thread.

Basically but that won't happen with MK because MK is still actually good. Like (for example) Even when people understand MK's moves it wont change the fact that grounded shuttle loop has ******** invinciblility and KO power and transitions into a glide, and etc etc etc

He's just a way better character at the end of the day.

And yeah I forgot Zelda I think we **** her too

Um, yeah, I don't think the word "****" on a female characters sounds so good even for a videogame. -_-

Anyhow, Shuttle Loop doesn't have that much knockback. I only find it to be a reliable killer as a gimper.

Actually if played perfectly IC and probably Olimar are better than MK. MK is just easier to get to a near perfect level. Pressing :bbutton: is easier than pressing :zbutton:

At a perfect level, IC's are ***, they would never get a grab off..

And Olimar gets gimped too easily.

MK will reign supreme, but unless everyone goes to a TAS, or maybe a 1/4 TAS, level, so will IC's

It's true tho, a master ICs player will not only master the chaingrabs 0-death, but also how to get grabs.

You silly people and believing MK is the best character in the game. Controlling 2 characters perfectly can set up ridiculous frame traps. Olimar basically has WAC whenever he feels like it. There is a reason good Olimars don't get gimped often, its called DI + WAC.

Shielding starts frame 2 and only a few jabs beat that so in theory, DDD could PS everything and have the advantage grabbing because his huge grab range. Although MK could Dair 'camp' out of grab range and nado to a safe spot and repeat. Tornadoes would force shield pressure. In the perfect playing world of make-believe games would be a matter or dealing damage then simply timing the opponent out. PSing eliminates all range attack threats and MK, the lagless wonder, has the safest game. MK would win.

Wow, relatively this thread is so active right now.

I posted only yesterday or the day before and now I'm three pages back.
Usually I would be three posts back on a usual basis.

Good work guys :p

btw MK Too Strong +1

In response to TC; August? Hmm, we have a 'major' on July 9th and probably another during October, so August wouldn't fall on a day where we might have interstaters... then again I'm sure a big event will be organised anyway and players from other states will travel to see you anyway :)

Having good overseas players come over here feels like house inspection for me...
I feel like I might might have to play Game and Watch again for the first time in a year and do some 'housekeeping' so that he is presentable to a decent American Gdubs... :p

Year 12 probably won't let me do that, though... :(
Hopefully the games are still clutch at least :)

Okokokokokok! I have a huge request that I need you to follow.

You need to 9 hammer Ramin. When this is done, stare deeply into his eyes and say "Gardex sends his regards"
Then record his reaction

I will do my very best to honor this request.

:denzel:

Also Splice, I might just wait until October. I can't come during July, my final exams will be around that time. I would love to hit up a bigger tournament.

EDIT: With this tournament, I will be starting the Judgment count (taking a page from UTDZac's playbook).

:yeahboi:

Yes the "stick" of the fsmash has a hitbox of its own which doesn't have the fire effect.
It's strong, but not as strong as the main hitbox.

Kaak randomly showed up and asked if there were any norwegian players in Oslo, Norway, because he's coming there during the summer. Maybe Hudet can motivate Kaak to play some more B)

Guys. :( I've been fighting a Peach lately and I just cannot win.

He says the MU is in our favor but I just don't believe it. Turnips wreck all my approaches and ruin grab attempts. Floating ****s up my spacing and she has better air control.

What am I missing?

I feel this way too to an extent.
In the air attack from a little above her level; the 'higher ground' has an advantage. Her Dair area is a danger zone. If she floats back don't chase her, try again (Peachs like to play that spacing game). G&W's aerials eat turnips so attack slightly sooner than you think. Don't forget double jumps and to reset bad situations with upB.
