The end? Oh? I really loved the ending - it totally caught me off guard. I hope you overall liked it more than disliked it. At the very least you have just read the single most important piece of literature ever written in human history. :)

Watch this! It's a cool Wind Waker medley. He plays all of the instruments at the same time. Yes, the SAME TIME! I'm assuming he's using Naruto's shadow clones thingy.

I liked it more than I disliked it for sure. My only issue is with how a couple of characters acted at the end...we can discuss it in person some time.

He should have done the dark world theme for longer. It's such an amazing song =)

Freakin brawl took the epic out of it.

Hey guys

I'm from the Ottawa Area just found this thread now. Sounds great that there is a nice smash community here in Ottawa.

Does anyone play Melee here still? I'm not at all that good but I wouldn't mind some friendly competition.
I even have other fighters to play as well if anyone is down for that.

PM me and let me know if anyone is down, we can chat through MSN :)

Ally vs. a Luigi player named Antizzle. Watch this match, I don't want to spoil too much but someone gets Joel Comboed, in addition to other epic happenings :)

Hey, a few of us still play Melee every now and then. If you live in the Nepean area (or are willing to travel here) let us know, you could come out to a smashfest sometime!

Hey guys

That sounds great, I really have no one to play Smash with lol. So my lack of experience would probably show. Though I'm always ready to have a good time with anyone.

I live around the Nepean area so getting around wouldn't be a problem especially getting around to play games lol.

If anyone has msn or anything add me up, I use that to communicate most of the time :)
c2ironfist@hotmail.com

btw does anyone else paly other fighters besides smash?

1) I'm going to try to pull off a joel combo if I ever get the chance to play him again lol
2) yeah we do play a lot of other fighters, though we're all into different games

to those who are of the partying variety (and over 19 :p) Our new years party was fun, but we only finished like half the keg... so I am more than willing to have some people over friday night after the smashfest for maybe some rockband // brawling (though I don't have a non-hd tv, so we have to put up with lag)

anyways, just thought i'd put that out there

I think all the joy and intoxicated people are affecting me XD I was talking to my friend at midnight and she was doped on painkillers while I was teaching her about EVs in Pokemon.

Happy new years, y'all. I'm probably down, Ben, depending on a couple factors that I need to sort out pronto.

Also, when was your birthday bash, again? With how much you've hyped it, I don't think I could afford to miss it :p

Finally: DJing = sliced fingers and fun times. Tru fax.

I'm back! So what did I miss of any importance? How was everyone's Christmas? Mine was pretty **** fun and I got to meet a lot of old friends and family but surprisingly got nothing I wanted as of gifts... Don't you love useless junk that you forget you got it from someone at Christmas?

That's why it's always best not to give something unless you know it'll mean something. Welcome back Jobin! Better start stretching now to get ready for next Thursday. By the way, how are you getting to Carleton? I shudder at the thought of walking there and back and still having energy to dance around...

Orandal: One of you forgot a Motorola charger thingy here.

I tend to play a few other fighters (KI Gold, Soul Calibur 1, MvC 2 [DC], Capcom vs SNK [DC]) out of boredom from time to time, but since I seem to be the only one playing them, I never really bother bringing up mention of it.

So I've been playing through Chrono Trigger DS. I'm probably nearing on my triple digits in terms of play throughs of the original and the new translation is a mixed bag for me. I mean, I know it's more accurate and it DOES provide a semi fresh new experience. However, mostly with the changing of monster and item names it just doesn't feel the same. I'm still out on whether that's a good or bad thing.

My brother has played through it and we've had a long talk about the changes and such. I find them good for the new comers and people who were confused about a couple things in the game. They added more descriptive text for things but I'm not too sure why they changed some of the names entirely. Also, making all of the chars have triple techs make the game easier. They also changed the names of people, like the guy you race, that I don't really get.... Oh and that monster pet training thing is so pointless and easy. I do like how they incorporated the PS cutscenes and with no load times.

The changes don't change the game enough to ruin the game and if you haven't played the game in a while or only a couple times you will have a hard time finding what the changes were. For hardcore CT fans that want to play the original, just go play the original. In my opinion it's worth the buy and its portable classic fun.

Oh yeah, it's worth the buy for sure. I mean some of the little changes are interesting to notice, the monster bit is a random touch, the theatre/music box bits are cool to have, the new dungeon thing is supposed to be good, and the cinemas are good to have too. I'm just hoping it does well so we get Chrono 3.

You know the tier list is balls when CF and Old Manon are last. ;) I know it shows real stats but I'm sure that there's info out there to back up some of the lower characters a little more than what is shown. I personally think that Diddy is too high and should be lower than any of the B tier characters.

I found their SS to G tier thingies to be a bit much. There's really not THAT much of a gap between tiers, especially the lower guys.

PNDMike: Sounds like fun :):

Best Combo Skills
- Patrick; he only ever hits you with combos, never single hits.

Smartest Player
- Moses; tricks you into doing something stupid.

Most Knowledgeable Player
- Infzy; Sonic's spin can hit how many times!?

Most Technical Skill
- Infzy; again with the Sonic techs

Best Edge Guarding Smasher
- Derek; you only recover if he wants you to (when he's using Marth of course).

Best Low Tier Smasher (uses low tier characters in tournament play)
- Wu yue; his Ganondorf is a scary beast...

Most Diverse Smasher (plays the most characters)
- Randal; good with anybody he picks up. Ganondorf, Wario, Falco, Peach...

Best Team Smasher (not necessarily the best skill wise, but knows how to contribute on a team)
- Cameron; knows when to hold back and when to jump in.
- (Honorable mention) ME!; keeps his *****es in line with well placed up smashes! ;)

Most Traveled Smasher
- Ben; most Brawl tournament experience

Most Unpredictable Smasher
- Suo; he shows up so randomly that it's always a surprise.

Best Smasher Name
- PNDMike; ***** 'n ****?

Best Crew
- Ottawa; err...

Best Trash Talker
- Randy; Old MAAAANandorf.

Best Female Smasher (I might as well just call this one for Remillia_Scarlett now >_>)
- Level 9 blue Yoshi CPU; ***** beat me in a tourney once...

Best Biweekly (just the number)
- Bi-weekly #5; my one and only victory...

Best non-Biweekly Tourney You've Attended
- Only in Niagara 2! Pure awesomeness.

Best Johns/Most Johns/Johns the most.
- Mason; "Oh my god that's so broken!"

Favorite Visiting Smasher (a non-Ottawa smasher)
- Niko; always fun.

Funniest Smasher
- Mr. Wu; brings a lot of life to any match.
- (honorable mention) Palan; when these two collide...

Friendliest Smasher
- Derek; always smiling even when angry

Most Improved Smasher
- Knuckles; where'd you come from? It's like you were power training these holidays or something.

Most Missed Smasher (someone who has retired, or is rarely active.)
- Ian; back air, back air, back air, back air.

Breakout Smasher (Player to Keep an Eye Out For in 2009)
- Alan; I didn't take you seriously before but after that thrashing you gave me last time I'll have to consider you a threat now. I can see you continuously rising.

Best Team Combination (Player X, Player Y, not a figurative combination, one that ACTUALLY happened)
- Team SAUSenic; they kind of remind me of the Joker: they'll kill you all the while laughing their heads off.

Sexiest Smasher
- Orlando/Randy/Alan/whoeverelseI'vesleptwith: Yeah, I'm a ****.

Best Smash Related Moment of 2008
- Orlando dethroning Derek. Pure epicness in every way. It's was a crazy showdown that will forever be remembered. Hopefully both of them will get back to their primes again.

Best Non Smash Related Moment of 2008 (but featuring smashers)
- Seeing Niko's little brother and realizing that he could kill us all in our sleep if he wanted to.
- (honorable mention) Munchkin/Apples to Apples/etc.; always brings laughs and such.

Overall Best Smasher of 2008
- Derek; he's the biggest sand bagger in history but when he goes all out (with MARTH dammit!) he's (almost) unstoppable.
(honorable mention) Ben; he worked hard and attended lots of tournaments. The result: he's winning all of his matches here.

And, I'd say the most importantly,
The Ottawa MVP. Who we couldn't thrive without.
- So obvious it doesn't need to be said; we love his basement. :)
