Yea there are console matches of them on youtube. Have you seen the Isai Link v Fox where Isai gets to 374 on his last stock? I think that was against johnny. Also, they're some good falcon and pika dittos that I believe were Isai v johnny.

didn't isai say those were from like 2002, not really an indication of their present level nor does it say they still play on console.
that said, i would love to watch a 12 char console battle between the both of them.

Beating someone in some matches in friendlies =/= being better than him
Dont say you beat someone unless you've beat him in 60-70% of the matches
I've beat Johnny in some matches too, but that doesnt mean im better than him. If you have a bit of brain you can see when someone is better than you

@ koro: i was talking to tigerbombz about who he thought some really good console-only players would be a few weeks ago. trigger's name came up. he also said he has a couple of other homies that are around the same level as trigger.

@ sheer and malva: i do wanna get better, faster, but the thought of delay/lag makes me not wanna play online. if playing better players will make u better, then id rather play on console with isai, tigerbombz and johnny over the top online players (no disrespect) :D

Personally, the only reason I don't play smash 64 offline is since I really dislike using the n64 controller and there is basically no one around to play.

I dont think people play console as opposed to online because somethings screwy with the monitor. So obviously yes it still is smash on a laggy tv. A monitors a monitor, its likely server issues and other crap that scare people away from playing online (lag included....which from what I've seen looks terrible)

IF you play offline smash most of you're time playing Smash64, Online smash will seem horrible for you because of delays, But you will get use to it, and after so much time it will be just like Offline smash64.


If you play online smash most of you're time you will suck at offline smash because it has 0 frames and you're mind and hands will be use to the experience from pressing something a bit before you need to which becomes like breathing after so long of online play, so it will take time for you to get into offline smash.


There both the same, Online smash64 isn't fake smash64, It's just a couple of frames behind the real time which you can get past once you played enough. The both give you same amount of skill if you play the exact same you did on both, If you play for 10 years, against different people while trying to figure out how to predict them on offline you will be good smash64 player, If you did same thing online you would also be a good smash64 at online smash, which the offline smash player will be just as good as he did offline.

In malva00's case, He was just good with smash64 from nothing, just naturally good which i'm thinking. That would explain why he easily destroyed people when he came directly from offline play to online play into a bigger community.

which is why melee online will never work and why the only thing i majorly suggest to people outside of if they are West coast is p2p.

For a human, I was talking about the game its self, Just because it's so many frames behind doesn't mean its unplayable or is fake smash. It's just delayed. Besides, at most you will get 13 frames with anyone in world, thats what iv got at most through out server playing people from russia, Japan, Swedish, Brittan, and Australia. Besides p2p makes the frames even lower so with p2p the max frame delay will be prob about 8 - 10 frames. But this is talking about a good internet connection, No crazy slow ones
