4. Want a bigger prize for yourself? You can switch your opponent for one of your teammates. This is very underhanded but may work heavily in your favor. BOTH PLAYERS HAVE TO AGREE TO THIS FOR IT TO HAPPEN.
Wouldn't it be kind of hard to get a person to agree to take the place of your opponent? I think this rule should be changed so that the teammate doesn't have to consent to be the replacement, otherwise all they'd have to do is refuse and your double-cross would mean nothing.

Just a question for all the people here who've brawled various characters of mine. Who do you think I should go with? I'm kinda stuck for choice :urg:

I've thought of that but I've also thought that some people might abuse this and simply try to weed out all their "weaker" teammates. For example, if dabuz decided to take out Omis? early (no offense) in fear of him dragging down the team, would that really be fair? I'm asking this as a legitimate question because I don't have an answer myself. Should I put more emphasis on the "befriend" part or the "betray" part of this tournament?

@ cba and Alphican:

I made a change to rule two for both clarity and to add another character just now.

My way of thinking is that this tournament is a contest of skill, so if someone that's a weaker player is challenged, they should be able to fight for themselves.

How about this - just as a brainstorming idea, what if the person being replaced has to agree to it, rather than the person that's acting as the replacement?

Like say for example you have Person A and Person B on the same team, and Person A is scheduled to fight Person C (from another team). But say A wants to fight B instead. What if A required C's permission to fight B?

There would be some incentive for C to agree (doesn't have to play a match and risk getting knocked out), yet there may also a good reason for him not to agree (if he's confident he can beat A, he might not want A to get away so easily). Just an idea I had.

2. Pick two character for the tournament, a main and a secondary. Because of the nature of this tournament, NO MORE THAN TWO PEOPLE PER TEAM CAN USE THE SAME CHARACTER AS A MAIN. Secondaries can only be used in counterpick situations like when you lose the first match and, although it should be obvious, they can't be the same character as your main.

OMFG FMOIII, i we really appreciate that you managed to change the rules for us. i really thank you for this ^.^ and we are not gonna lose in the first round!!! NONE of US.!!!
also i got a Q....is it gonna be like a crew battle of just a regular tourney with these rules?

Finals are next week for me... anyways.

I'm officially here to advertise that Snare and I will hopefully be forming a team.
It will be one of the following.
A) Pokemon Team (if we do this we should so be called the Elite Four)
B) Star Fox Team
C) MetaKnight Team

The Primary Character will have to be related to the theme, the secondary may be whatever character you want to bring along as an aid.

If anyone is interested in joining such a team please PM me.

Remind me never to send you a friend request. :rotfl:

But yeah, college isn't too bad. It's different from high school, but you adjust pretty quickly. Plus, you don't go for 8+ hours five days a week, which means you have more time for whatever else you want.

Oh, and since I've posted here, I might as well sign up for Cosby Bebop. <_<

So sign me up, please!

Now you may all stare at my new awesome blue name (Which doesn't go great with my name imo but I'm keeping it anyways simply because it's blue)
