Okay,so I was with my mom at Gamestop, and I found a Pokemon Emerald cartridge.
So we bought it,and apparently it was used.
I started it,I went and checked my box.
I COULDN'T BELEIVE IT!
I had a Shiny Latias and a Shiny Flygon!
I also had a shiny Blaziken, but it was level 32.
The Latias is level 80,and the Flygon is 100.

So,have any of you guys encountered shinys before,or have you ever been like me?

PRNG abuse didn't exist in RSE, did it? So they were either hacked, or you found someone like DougJustDoug's old cartridge.

Wow, that was quite a find.

Where were the Pokemon caught at? And what level? That can let you know whether or not they were hacked.

Old GBA games cost a ton in Hell.

The HELL do you guys buy your games at?!? That is WAY too much for a used game.
A used Pokemon Emerald will range anywhere from $16-$25 here in North Carolina V_V.
Gamestop, because nowhere else in Nm has them (I'm not even kiddig, it took me like 2 weeks to find one at all)

I find that there are much easier and cheaper options for buying old GBA games.

Not here...Gamestop is the place that charges $60-70 for emerald
Daaaamn, they must be pissed cuz of all the people calling asking for Battletoads...

In Canada/Québec we got Eb Games (the equivalent) and the prices are super low, even on rare games =/

I payed about 20 bucks for it.
Also, they were traded from other people, and their stats do not look like they were hacked.
One of the Pokemon probably had Pokerus, but he may have gotten rid of the pokemon that were infected.
He has a lot of caught pokemon, but he got rid of them, also.

The cheapest price I've seen on an Emerald is $35. And that's at GameStop.

It IS way too much for a used game, but unfortunately, GameStop pretty much has a monopoly...

Goodwill's pretty much your best bet for video game things.

Geez gamestop sounds like a rip off, the gameden near my old house sold all the used pokemon games for around $9.00 - $12.00. I've never bought a used and gotten lucky enough to find anything shiny, though one I bought had quite a few level 100s .

Oh, it is. Quite a ripoff.

I wish there were other game stores around...that specialize in games.

The reason some GameStops price them that high is because people will buy them. Simple: Don't buy overpriced Emerald carts and they will lower the price.

You might not buy them, but can you make everyone not buy them? Didn't think so.

I love how this thread is about how some kid got hacked shiny Pokemon, and you guys are rambling over the price of used Emerald games...

he did say the Blaziken was at lv. 32, so there is a chance that some hacking was done.

The best place to buy a pretty cheap video game are at flea markets, but you have be careful because some of the prices can be like to ones at gamestop. The prices at the flea can vary from $5-30.

my friend just bought emerald for $10. Good job guys.
Well, he got lucky. Last time I saw the three third gen games for sale was at GameStop.

Sapphire -- $29.99
Ruby -- $34.99
Emerald -- $34.99

Granted, it's been quite some time, but nevertheless...

Hell, it's been 3 years+ since New Super Mario Bros. came out. I still have yet to see it for any cheaper than $35. And I'm not buying that until it goes down in price, on principle.

tl;dr: Obnoxious ripoffs are obnoxious ripoffs. Shop at Goodwill instead.

Amazon has the top Emerald listings at:

New: $69.99 - $81.47
Used: $21.95 - $23.90

Guess you paid a reasonable price for used then, but Umbreon's friend wins.
