On a side note, you can't blow up your own grenades by hitting them. But if the opponent throws one back at you, you can blow it up with a hit.

Well thats not entirely true is it? Can't you unstale moves by using mines and c4 to blow up grenades?

Its in Snake's "Did you know?" thread. I think I remember a thread about it too. SH C4, pull grenade, shield-> jump detonate and refresh stuff a bit.

I may test this out a bit later seeing as I lay C4 and it always detonates on me at inconvenient times, so I'm more of a grenade > tilt person.

That said, grenade and mine + C4, would this refresh 3 moves? That's a very strong attribute imHo~.

This sounds silly and I have never heard of anything like it.
I guess it kind of works like how Tink's bomb work. when they hit something they blow up or after a certain amount of time has past.....BOOM! But since Snake's can hit someone and not blow up, I think they are THE best projectile in the game in terms of raking that damage up quickly.

Well here's something that's interesting.

C4 can't blow grenades up, wtf??

Edit: Upon further inspection, it just seems that C4 doesn't have a very big hitbox. So it can blow grenades up, it's just... difficult. Iunno.

I tested it myself a long time ago and we have known about it for a long time. Its usually just ineffective due to the amount of time it takes to set-up. Pulling two nades and having them explode on each other is the fastest way to refresh his own moveset. Although, it does not seem to act quite as simple as you used two separate moves and used up two slots out of 9.

Most of c4s hitbox is under it. The animation is mostly without a hitbox.

But none of the moves you can't hit yourself with (everything except dsmash, c4 and nades) will blow up your own nades. Yep.

I theorise that it doesn't take 2 slots because after the first grenade explodes (and thus blows the second one up), the second has nothing to hit.

Staling mines and utilt seems to work together.

Huh.

Interesting, but what a stupid move tbh.

Hitbox being under it makes no sense; but then this is Brawl.

I wish the data on it was easier to find.

I can see 4 hitboxes that may, or may not be C4's, but I can't tell which is which. Which is lameeeee.

it doesnt make sense.

it basically doesnt hit an opponent unless they're touching the ground. there is almost no hitbox above.

but the one below is huge. it can hit mks flying under smashville.

true.

the odd hitbox does make for some interesting situations.

its great for catching people out on slants, since it often hits on the other side on an object.

What are the properties of Snake stickying hit box(if it's called that)?I'm referring to when he is sticking someone with the c4. Is it lingering or anything? I was playing against someone who spotdodged a lot and I was able to stick him in it fairly consistently. o-o

Good question.

I may be able to find out for you.

But not now as I'm trying to get ready for a tournament tomorrow.

kk ^_^ I'm pretty excited to see it. Also I found that a sticky C4 works OoS against certain moves/characters pretty nicely. ^_^ There are probably better options, but I think it's a funny one. Not even sure if it's legit or was just an option people didn't expect though. o-o

Oh o-o Wasn't as lasting as I was hoping for. T_T

Still nice to know how big the hitbox is as well though. ^_^

EDIT: Also I know Snake's hitboxes are bigger because he was supposed to be a bigger character, but are his hurt boxes bigger as well?

Yeah me too. I wish that Snake's hurt boxes were easy to put into those pictures that show his hit boxes as well, so we could see the disjoint(Not sure if that's the word i'm trying to think of or not o-o) of certain moves. D=

All hurtboxes in Brawl are like that. Some are sillier than others (example, Lucas has nonsensical hurtboxes).

Are Lucas' nonsensically larger, or smaller? =D

EDIT: I guess that would mean that they left his hitboxes larger after scaling down his hurt boxes(Or is that larger hitbox reason just rumor/conspiracy nonsnse?)? O_o Also are those hurt boxes the same regardless of move or animation? o-o Because it doesn't look like his hurt box goes past his feet and if Snake's nair has a negative hitbox(I might be wrong about that D=) then that just makes his hurtboxes/hitboxes a bit weird sounding for his nair lol.

That makes me feel a bit more confident about when to challenge Lucas now, so thanks for that. =D

Nair isn't as weird looking as I would've thought then. o-o

Also yeah i'm pretty sure that a mistake like that would be a really big deal in programming. :\

nair is extremely weird looking tbh.

Usually hitboxes are supposed to, y'know, be attached to limbs. Not randomly floating in mid air.

Well yeah I know I was just expecting it to look more exposed than it does sine it seems fairly easy to challenge/beat it once you get used to the spacing.

EDIT:Also what moves of ours beats Fox's dair? o-o

Nair is dumb, it looks like the foot he isn't kicking with also has a disjointed hitbox. You can blow up landmines with it without hurting yourself.

How easy is it to do a DACUS with a CC compared to a GCC? I'm sorry if this sounds like a dumb question but my GCC broke yesterday so I'm thinking of get a CC to play Tri better as well

I wonder what explains why Snake will start an animation for a stick, but then the C4 will never come out. I have gotten this to many times where I attempt to stick someone by accident, but the stick will not stick. It drops. And I see the animation for the stick.

Probably because they're out of range.

I assume there's an inert hitbox similar to Peach's Bomber that determines if it'll stick on someone or not, if they're outside of the range by frame 7-8, it simply drops to the floor. (Maybe. That's just an educated guess.)

I was going to suggest that too. I'm pretty sure the animation triggers when they are in range, but since it takes several frames to actually sticky them, they can move out of the way. Doesn't happen to me often unless I'm trying to midair sticky, though

Ralph just b reverse your c4 lol. I always try to do that so I have the option of bairing back to the stage, and if I'm close to the stage I avoid stickying it.
