hah nice Rykard! only problem is that it gets boring since it's repetitive. no way of stopping that really tho. the bunny hood was fun for a lil.

I was kinda hesitant at first though, but I just wanted you guys to know that I "exist" x) (I guess you can put it that way lol)

so thats the PAL version? marth's dair is only a meteor strike? im sooo jealous, u guys are so lucky over there. ur pretty straight, u need to learn to straighten out wen ur tumbling so u can dodgeshot the ledge, and u need to make sure u dont unneccessarily use ur jump at the edge n jump out of ur shield a lil more instead of relying on ur grab n up-b, its a prob ive been workin on fixing too. u get caught wit ur hookshot laying on the ground n ur either gettin waveshined by fox, comboed by falco or falcon, tipper'd my by marth or rested by jiggz

Yeah, Marth's Dair is a meteor in PAL. And Sheik can't CG you muahaha :awesome:

And yes, I'm aware of my predictability in my grabs and Up-B's, the first thing I realized after watching the replays x)
It's just that this was my first out-of-country tournament, so I got kinda nervous during the match, especially vs. an opponent such as Salepate. I was really scared of making a mistake and losing a stock for it haha

Oh and I know the thingy about the tumble animation, don't worry haha
But yea, tension gets you sometimes I guess... x)

I'm already improving my OoS game, I've been also experimenting with Wavedash OoS and trying to implement it into my Link game, mostly for a bit of mindgaming.

Thanks for the critique though, mate, appreciate it =P

OK, Im just gonna put it out there. Last year a random link player from the island of Puerto Rico came to the states to compete on a mayor tournament called Pound4. Even though he didnt rank as high as many wanted him to, he showed he had the skills to truly be one of the greats....his name.........HDL!

Considered the best player on the isle and in my opinion the best link world wide, this time hes out for blood and is going to Pound5 to show he truly has what it takes to beat the top players. Beating most of the top players and having very close matches with every single one of them like M2K's Sheik and others on the last Pound. Last time was just a test run , this time....it'll be the real deal...get ready! :p

If Link could keep up with Falco better offensively the MU would easily be in Link's favor.
Falco is essentially screwed once he's off stage against an efficient Link at any percentage.

Well there are ways of getting arround the pressure, but it's mainly the laser pressure stuff that makes people choke most of the times (at least I used to have my problems with it...) since it really hinders Link's movement and sometimes makes you do something stupid. ^^"

Whenever you play good Falcos like Lampchops who really knows his stuff, you can't help but sigh everytime about the annoying disadvantages that Link suffers from in this matchup, like a OoS game that is just a tiny bit too slow to really be 100% reliable against the shine/laser pressure, and of course Link's overall "laggyness". I guess that the most important thing is to capitalize on every mistake or opening that you may find and make the most out of it (in other words: bring him offstage!! :p), but Link is relatively good at it once you get a combo in. So in the end it's still possible ^^"

Well, that basically means it's impossible for even the best Link in the world to beat Mango's or Dr. Peepee's Falco. Choosing Link against either of them is as good as forfeiting. Knowing Mango he'd even refuse to go Falco.

I guess it is rather hard indeed :urg:
Still, it doesn't really look that impossible if you look at Germ, at least he got him down to 2 stocks. Plus, hadn't he suicided those few stocks, it could've been a much more balanced game. Maybe it depends on the playstyle? Idk...

But I guess that, for the average player, this might be a near-impossible task lol (for now;)).

Mango's gotten better since those matches... lol

But German should've uthrown every time he got a grab, don't count on being able to tech chase spacies with Link.

lol, you handled the MU amazingly. Great reads in both matches and sick edgeguarding.
The projectile gimp reminded me of Aniki.
Commentators are right though, there's hardly anyone out there to show you how to fight characters like Fox and Falco with Link, because the MUs are so horrible. One of my friends criticized me for playing Marth against spacies when I enjoy playing Link more, but THIS is exactly the reason why. He mains Samus, and there are Samus players out there (Hugs, Plup, Darrell, ihavespaceballs, etc.) to show you how to fight spacies, not the case with Link.

I feel like this is the thread for people to post videos of exemplary others and combo vids. There's a critique thread that'll get more hits than this and'll get better commentary.
Alex21, please DI down and away during combos, and tell your opponent that.

He's not random lol, he used to live in the states and would constantly rant on the Link forums. What made people annoyed is how he would constantly argue that Link did well against practically every top tier. He also would say that he was just as good as Germ and Trevyn, despite moving to Puerto Rico and being unable to prove his skill to US players. He made popular combo videos, uploaded a lot of matches after he moved to Puerto Rico, and made probably one of the most detailed character guides at the time.
It's good to see after all of the years he came back.
