I'm kind of wondering why there isn't a whole forum dedicated to prospective brawl characters really. After all, at least 90% of the topics in this one are dedicated to various characters that people want.

It's not that I'm opposed to the support or addition of new characters, but you know, I'm hoping that brawl will be more than just melee with more characters, the way melee was more than just the original with new characters, and it's sort of annoying having to sift through all of the character threads just to find one that actually pertains to prospective gameplay.

Correction. Snake's creator begged to have Snake in Melee. It was too late then, unless Snake was going to be the C.Falcon clone, and so it was rejected.

Fast foward 6 years, and the creator of smash remembered this. So he puts snake in the first trailer, to make it up to his old buddy.

Cloud has no connection to Nintendo at all, Snake on the other hand does. but that really doesn't matter if square and Nintendo come to an agreement it'll probably happen.

Actually he was in kingdom hearts COM for the gameboy advance. Thats could atleast count as some connection.

You should add "STARMAN" from the earthbound series. He is a really cool character. Also add "PLUSLE AND MINUM". They are a pokemon duo from the latest pokemon game. They work together as a team like the Ice Climbers have done. I would also consider "DEOXYS" to be added to the pokemon list also. He is the new uber pokemon possibly taking over Mewtwo's place. The cool thing about this pokemon is that he can change into different forms, that would make him a very unique character for SSBB.

One note: Earthbound was one game in the Mother series. Not much of a series here, just Earthbound. Buuut, if you wanna include people from the whole series(Ninten, Loid, Flint, Claus, just to name a few), you should probably change it to Earthbound/Mother series.

I'd be for Starman if it weren't for the fact that he's a DRONE character. Why not just go for Starman DX? Or better yet, Pokey?
