i'll play

also, i wouldn't blame anyone for not coming to wcsl; with each "update", the picture looks bleaker and bleaker for a successful tournament

so i guess you don't have much confidence in neal or hyuga

ps: the comma goes inside da quotes

i don't really understand why you would punctuation police on a forum, especially when it doesn't cloud the meaning of a post at all and you don't bother with capitalization or full sentences yourself

facts are: 8 pm closing time, "best of 2" pools (whatever that means), no friendlies, 200 brawl kids who don't know the rules and don't know how to follow instructions

Correct me if I'm wrong, but is not the closing time specifically for those that want to enter/re-enter? Not necessarily for the tournament to shut down?

why would they close registration at 8?

either it's the time we have to be out by (which would mean stopping even earlier to clean up? i dunno) or it really makes no sense

*Amicable Clap* logicD.

Not for tourney registration but I mean, entering the building. Like, certain clubs have their dance floors open until 2am, but people can not enter the club past midnight.

then it would be a non-issue, as there's no real legit reason for smashers to be leaving the venue en masse before its over but wanting to return without having someone willing to simply go open the door for them on the way back

But does punctuation go on the inside for every "case"?
your sentence above is correct.

i don't really understand why you would punctuation police on a forum, especially when it doesn't cloud the meaning of a post at all and you don't bother with capitalization or full sentences yourself
this is exactly why

facts are: 8 pm closing time, "best of 2" pools (whatever that means), no friendlies, 200 brawl kids who don't know the rules and don't know how to follow instructions
also, from the lack of hyuga's suggestions being implemented into the actual rules, i wonder if he and neal have any sway at all
are you really in a position to know this for certain? sorry, but i think hyuga and neal know more than you, so if they're putting their word behind it, it carries weight. that doesn't mean i'm not skeptical, but saying "with every new update, it looks bleaker and bleaker" is just your personal opinion ignoring the reputations of hyuga and neal, not fact.

i thought it was clear that anything i say is my opinion... what led you to believe otherwise?

also, not only have i not seen neal slap his name on the tournament, but also after seeing his name tagged onto ohana without his knowledge, it's hard to expect he has a hand in it unless he comes out and says it himself

...and not only does hyuga know more than me, but he is also equally pessimistic

duh, but apparently you're also not cognizant of how you come across

this leads me to believe differently:

This tourney has me and Neal now. We are probably going to have a projector with brackets on it. At count on Saturday was have 25 TV's, and we will certainly get more by the time the tourney rolls around. The goal is to have enough TV's to run all of the first round of Brawl doubles at once; at 4 entrants to a TV, a full 64-team bracket (reasonable expectation) is 32 TV's, which I'm fairly certain we'll get.

We have strats to get this done, we got this, trust. I'm not the kind of person that says things like this lightly.

what... that I think I'm right?

what's the point of posting you don't agree with what you say?

i'm not trolling, and if i was, it would be an extremely poor one since it wouldn't actually anger anyone that reads it here

this leads me to believe differently:
we can only hope so, but like i said, sheridan has told me a lot of the things he has proposed, and i have yet to see any of them implemented

LMAO

what's the point of posting you don't agree with what you say?
For someone who obviously thinks they're so smart, you really struggle at thinking outside the box on some basic *** ****

i'm not trolling, and if i was, it would be an extremely poor one since it wouldn't actually anger anyone that reads it here
try again

we can only hope so, but like i said, sheridan has told me a lot of the things he has proposed, and i have yet to see any of them implemented
so basically you're just talking out of your ***.

okay.

i know this is how you get some kicks when you are bored

but
i think pocky chats with sheridan more than just about anyone

plus that post from sheridan was from before his schedule got rejected [which was one of the reasons he was confident in running this smoothly]

well
it depends on 2 things
1) what time my final is wednesday
and
2) how long i would be staying at your place

because if my final isn't till the afternoon
i dont mind coming up around 6:30 for maybe only a few hours of smash
but if my final is early, i wouldn't bother

i'm calling around to get the time again
i'll let you know tonight what my plan is

I don't know if the schedule was "rejected" or if he just hasn't updated it with information yet. Also, I should say that I don't have direct word from Neal about his involvment here. He is coming for sure, I just don't know in what capacity he will be running the tourney. Even if he just shows up and doesn't do much, I think we will still run everything on time. In any case I'm going to PM onski and try to settle the schedule immediately. And also try to get control of this thread to someone who actually posts here and knows what's going on.

I also never said "no friendlies." I said "no friendlies unless we say so." If the number of TV's exceeds the number of first round matches in Brawl Doubles, I plan on making those extras to be dedicated friendly TV's.

Yeah, I talked to onski on AIM today. This is basically the schedule, and apparently for the most part these are set in stone, and this is the way it's going down :/ Although the relative starting times of the events aren't EXACT, we're going to start it as TV's become available. So, if Brawl doesn't finish the first day, we will finish it during the later part of the Melee bracket the 2nd day. Apparently pools for Brawl are going down.

I am going to try to get control of this thread to get this junk updated. I am confident that we can get everything done in a timely manner still.

PLEASE BRING SETUPS, ESPECIALLY TV's! IF YOU LIKE FRIENDLIES, YOU WILL BRING TV'S!

Why is Brawl being favored so heavily over melee?

I mean, I can deal with the cutting into Melee time for Brawl, fairly understandable.

However, the no pools for melee is simply a joke. You may not need to show fair treatment for both games, but at least try and mediate the time to accommodate both melee and brawl. (To a certain extent)
