Uh, I'm still a virgin. One of the few people not ashamed to state that I'm still one and not lie when it was just my hand.
*forever alone
However I shouldn't be talking. I'm the most forever alone person known to man. I work at Chuck E. Cheese at least I have an excuse.
I'm with you man. I'm want my first to be with someone I like. Not some random hoe I find at a club.
This is pretty honorable.

Hey guys I need a favor of sorts.

I am going to start doing things for KOTC again. As you know when I started working with them we had some pretty good events. Our first date would be for July 23rd ( week after Genesis but I am assuming Genesis would be only for high level players from NYC ). We would also feature MVC3 , MK9, and AE( my favorite). In order to do this I wanna get some things you guys did not like about what was done when I was not in charge of the events or anything that you found could be better. I want to address this now so I can put this together and get some good events going.

Eventually I will be doing something on my Bday at Hunter College in manhattan for smash and all these games ( vc x :) ) so I wanna get this set.

Just keep it classy is all I ask :)

Bad venue, extremely small space for smash, was told there was a discount for setups but we couldn't get it (evidentally that was on the smash TO but doesn't make sense, should be more on KOTC's fault).

well with a floor plan and just space management I can resolve the space issues.

discounts I can make sure are given to ppl regardless of anything

I really would , tbh, move the halo people to a small area cause of the lack of ppl that enter it...honestly halo / cod / gears are a waste of time to me outside of mlg and I would address that immediately.

keep the comments coming guys:) thanks Mark.

that was my last VC. As far as the next VC it will be in NYC just cause I wanna do something for my bday.

The venue for the KOTC event in july would be the same AFAIK so we will see.

The venue in the speed way or w.e it was isn't bad. The one with VC9 and such is awful.

Also you might want to look into adopting the new socal style. Get the venue as cheap as possible, do $5 for each events, pools, and amateur brackets. It's been boosting attendance in socal, as it's incredibly favoring to new players and those that don't always make it to the top. Get more matches in, costs cheaper. We might also see some more OOS since they can put the money they are saving in tourney fees to traveling (gas is astronomical these days).

for venue you can talk to them and say like how smash is hurting for attendance compared to how it used to be, and you want to try this for like 2-3 tournaments to see if it helps. smash only attendees pay $5 venue, if they enter more games (like GoW, Halo, Pokemon, etc) they pay the normal $10

vc 9 i was not there but I am sure it wasnt the space but the way it was set up. If its the VC8 venue I can make it work EASILY.

In regards to venue fee and game prices Socal likes to play this game...EC is more about money and playing to win IMO. As long as we have ppl wanting to win and not focused on getting better venue fees will not change. If we are to change it you will see a drop in attendence. IMO 10 venue and 10 per person is fine if its a bigger-style event. Which is what I would be heading towards. I do think smaller events will be good. Without ppl complaining about paying out money we can get things better in the tristate area.

Did you see the VC9 venue Strife? Maybe for a 50 person local its okay, but with the inclusion of Gears, SSF4, Halo, etc it was packed.

Yeah, where we were setup at VC9 was horrendous, but even if we had a different spot it would have made it only slightly better imo. The VC8 venue was pretty good though. The best possible thing you could do for the old VC9 venue is to have the smash setups along the wall that was furthest away from us aka the opposite of the SSF4 side. That way people won't be walking into us to get to their Gears/Halo stuff.

That wouldn't work for 70 people imo though. It can work ya know, but then it would be as packed if not even worse than the E-spot's tournies with 70+ people, but with Gears and Halo kids walkign around.

hm that i did not know thanks for that.

I will have this taken care of. I wanna def see if I can work something out. They have this guy for fighting games ( i NEVER HEARD OF HIM ) so I will see if I can work this out. I like keeping working relationships with ppl in case big things happen but I wanna just get something we can do once a month for us to get excited about.

I would recommend people really try that 5 buck venue ( espot would work great for this ) for a 40-50 man tournament. May I ask why this hasnt been done yet?

Alex- Chairs. If I'm not mistaken the last KOTC event I was sitting on the floor a lot.

Trevor- Great! I have to talk to kelvin and diem about some stuff first to make sure things are set then I'll let you know.

Wyatt- I think most people 17 and under lie about not being virgins anyway. No worries.

Also @ Kai, be sure to not let them have any butter-knives on the rollercoasters. you are bringing the two most (emo)tional people in the community to six flags, you know.

you kidding me? 5$ won't bring more OoS nor will save you if you're super tight in money, you don't travel far enough with a chance of being screewed by money =.= And I like that 10$ fee, would suck if tourneys turned to 5$ I'd never come ever again Lmao

I agree with Ally that a $5 tourney fee will drive away OOS people. I would personally try to get as much money as possible going OOS to pay for expenses. Especially if I'm someone like Gnes going to KTAR. It would suck if the pot was cut from like $800 to $400. Locals, on the other hand, I would be fine with having a $5 tourney fee to get new people into the scene. We pay $15 for nationals. I don't see why we can't pay $5 for locals. $5 venue fee would also be nice if possible.

@Alex - Can't say anything about the VC9 venue. Wasn't there. I was at VC8 and I thought that was a pretty good venue. It did the job.

The top 20 or so players in the country are going to want the money obviously, that's going to help bring them
The lower players on the other hand (the other 3,000 players) do care about saving money
like lets say mdva
a car with logic, ok maybe he wants money or w.e
but how bout a car with tant and ee (nothin against you guys, just thought of another car group from mdva), they aren't going to make money most likely. are they going to like saving $15? im sure they would

Yeah I think $5 to enter is too small and players in our region aren't used to that type of entry fee yet. For locals it may be fine but not for tournies with 40+ players imo.

A $5.00 venue fee is great and all but its hard to acheive without going in the negative.

Edit: Just read that last post Chibo. You got a point there.

I don't wanna burden you, but would you be able to get Heero or Gunblade? I'm gonna try to get KingKong and I need to free up a seat to do so.
Yes, assuming whoever I take pays me. I don't think I'm taking Cable there, but I won't be able to take him home if he goes with the other guy and I'm full. I think I'm taking Pwii and his friend still so I have room for one more. Either of them would be fine.

Edit- In addition to addresses I need cell numbers too. PM me if you don't wanna post that stuff

@Chibo: I think you forget the fact that having higher end players also brings more attention and hype to the event. I can safely say that bigger tournaments (around 30+) with out anyone that amazing seems dull. There is no sense of accomplishment. I wouldn't go to anything much unless there was someone worthwhile to beat. I even hear average players talk among themselves another going to certain tournaments just to get a chance to play certain players. Eliminating more of the higher end people, will also lower the lower end by a good amount. Just my 2c.
