I wish more people were confirmed on AiB. I thought the return to me hosting would get a lot more hype than this. I'm actually pretty disappointed that my event isn't getting the same attention as KTAR's or VC's.
If I don't even make enough to pay the cost of the venue, I certainly can't keep hosting, and I don't want to feel like my return to hosting doesn't matter to people. I'm a sensitive guy!
Although you have hosted events in the past, your break was long, now that you're coming back so late its almost like you're starting over. My first event, KTAR, only had 45 entrants although it was on a sunday. After that part 2 had 65, and part 3 had 74. I'll stop making KTARs the moment my attendance drops below a previous KTAR so expect even more at part 4.
Anyways, your tourney definitely has hype. Atm it might not have as much hype as my own or Strife's due to us having very recent success in tournies. We also have confirmed OOS/OOC attendance at both of our events. I think the key thing about your tourney that we could both be jealous about is your side events, but then again, with the attendance Strife/I aim for, it would be near impossible for our own events.
In short, its your first tourney after a drought. And you DEFINITELY have hype. No other tourney around atm is currently bringing all the states together. Once people come, have fun, and talk about the tourney, more people will here the heresay and come to your next one.
A great tool is to have a tourney series. Its easier for people to recognize your next tourney if its called Great Revival 2. If the tourney fails, do the opposite and name it something else *glares at Chibo*. It won't help if HOBO 1 had 12 entrants and the next HOBO had nothing new to it. The first 12 entrants may not even come due to the low turnout of the first HOBO. But I know your tourney will do well, especially with Keitaro helping :D
Key thing is advertising. I'll just bother you in person about it sometime.
