I'm pretty confident Sega could produce a new system today and compete again. Sadly, they have no plans to do so.

It doesn't surprise me if a majority likes bad quality material. I'll use one of your common examples. Look at the president.

Anyone who speaks spanish who isn't annoying: How difficult is it to learn to language. Whats the best way, other than being raised in a spanish household, and how long does it take?

well if u have no points to back up your arguement, or even explain yourself why mario is trash, then its pretty much a landslide. bringing up the president has nothing to do with mario and sonic, yes most ADULTS are stupid/ignorant most the time in picking presidents but im sure teens and kids know what they want in games since they enjoy what they play. sega cant produce a new system. what will it have? motion controls like everyone else? sega doesnt even have the funds for it i bet.

I like FFX-2, a game considered by many to be pretty terrible, and I will never claim that the game is good just because I enjoyed it. I'm not a huge fan of the 2D Mario games either, actually, but just because they're not my favorite doesn't mean they're bad by any stretch of the imagination.

I think everybody here needs to be more open-minded. Kai, nobody's saying that you should take reviews as the absolute truth...and I don't think anybody is. Reviews are merely a way of backing up something you like as "good" because the general consensus is in agreement with you and can help serve as a recommendation to try playing/reading/listening to/watching something. If you disagree with what you were told in a review, no big deal. The rest of the world can be different from you.

People would be having much more reasonable reactions if you said "I don't like Mario games" rather than "Mario games are trash". The fact that you're not joking about this and seem to be pretty serious about it on many occasions is pretty unsettling to me. Somebody having taste that is different from yours doesn't make their taste inferior.

I like when people say most of what I wanted to say so I don't have to do it myself :p

I think 2D Mario games are at least near = to the 2D sonic games. I like Sonic the character much more than Mario, and I would say I like the game more too, but I've had WAAAY too much fun in the past with Super Mario World.

Fact. Another similar example? People who think certain lower middle/ low tier character mainers are amazing/the best because they get a few wins off of players who don't know the matchup, whereas someone who knows how to fight the character would 3 stock them. Hopefully there's no need for me to provide examples, because I hate indirectly calling people out by name.
In a nutshell: people generally tend to like lower-quality things mostly due to the fact that they don't know any better. They base their opinions off of merely what they see or the opinion of others rather than looking at everything and figuring out what's garbage and what's not.

finally you have asked the question so many of us have said before. Erick I love you (no homo) but Kai aint interested in Mario. He only likes Sonic. It is all opinion. Like how I hate Bleach and Naruto. I have watched both shows before and I actually know how Bleach ends (until they start another 2 years of it again or something like that). I bother Kelvin about it all the time and he thinks im a fool, but at the end of the day, people are set in there ways. =]

Figures you excluded the point I was making from all the quotes.

It's very obvious that Dr.Brawl and Inui disagree with myself. This is the reasoning behind all of our statements being extreme and "factual". This is followed by mass disbelief from one side to the other which generates the pictures( Eddie Murphy, the Lama, etc). What do you do? You bring in statistical data of REVEIWS(which don't matter at all). You are not entertaining, or fun to talk to. THAT is my point. These are OBVIOUSLY ALL OPINIONS. Are you people REALLY that dumb? Of course I think Sonic is lightyears ahead of Mario in terms of entertainment. Do I really think it's impossible for people to have opinions that differ from mine? No. Give me a ****ing break you morons

Edit @ Yes: Mario himself is kinda wack. Never liked him much till he was doing smash attacks in the first smash bros.
